May 2021We were snowbirding and spent 4 months at a different location and out 5th (final) month at 1213 Ocean Forest Plaza. Here are the great qualities: price, ocean view and sounds, relaxed environment as we were not interested in a "resort" atmosphere, great water pressure and plenty of hot water, easy to get groceries from garage to unit, there are 3 elevators, with never an unrealistic wait.
Owner, Ted, and his maintenence professional are just a call away and responsive to questions. Only had one question that was taken care of immediately.
Sink in the bedroom was a nice amenity. All appliances are full size, including a dishwasher. Great area for riding bicycle and there is a nice sidewalk hike path with ocean view on Ocean Blvd that has workout stations every so often. There is a great little bar (Buckets) within a quarter mile walking distance and there are what we consider all of the best restaurants and cozy pubs within 1/2 mile to 2 miles. Of course it isn't far to any place in Myrtle Beach if that is a concern if you have for kids.
The outside pool opened today and is immaculate. There is a grill there. There is also a grill by the south uncovered parking lot. I will also say that I have heard from many in my 5 months there that this is a location they feel comfortable. It is home base, with plenty to do right there and to go other places but come home to a safe place to walk the beach in the evening, etc.
I am back home now, as of today, and already miss every minute of it. The sunrises and meals from the balcony were superb and walk out of the entrance and see the beautiful sunset. We're going back as snowbirds. I recommend booking whenever it's available and when it suits your vacation schedule. Read more

Aug 2021We had an amazing time at this property. We actually had rented from the same property for our vacation last year just in a different unit. So, we knew the area pretty well. I saw someone complain about the size of the garage and it is a tight fit but you can easily maneuver it if you know how to drive. The view at this location was just absolutely stunning. I definitely don’t think the pictures do the view any justice, as soon as you step into the living room you get a huge view of just ocean. The layout of the condo was also nice for us to walk around in. We have a two year old and with that comes a lot of luggage! The porch was also very very nice to sit and relax and had a lot of space. The owner was out of town when we went and told us to contact the maintenance guy with any problems and he was absolutely amazing and called us right back when we had trouble getting in. We also sadly left our daughters favorite toy and he found it and offered to ship the toy to us which was so very nice of him. The only thing that wasn’t very good was the cleanliness of the condo. Now, we understand it’s a beach condo and sand gets literally everywhere it was more the bathtub that wasn’t clean and could have been cleaned a lot better. But overall I would say it was amazing amazing vacation and an absolutely amazing view and I would definitely return again. Read more

Oct 2020We arrived at the condo and for the most part it was clean other than the shower which had hair in it so it had not been cleaned and also trash under the beds. Over all the condo was nice and updated. We did see 2 roaches but the building is older. The main problem was the parking. The parking gargae is very tight and I drive an SUV. It was just my best friend and I and we are females. There is an extra lot for SUVs and trucks. We went to leave sat morning for breakfast and my vehicle had been towed!! I had my parking pass and was parked in the extra lot which had about 15 empty spaces. The reason my car was towed was because security called the tow company to report my car was not 16 foot long. I do not carry a tap measure on vacation and the lot was pretty much empty. I reached out to the owner to discuss the matter since the tow company even told me that they towed cars all the time even in winter. That seems to me a little over board and when I tried to call security I got no answer. I believe since this is such a big problem guest should be made aware of the issue. I did not like having to pay $160.00 to get my car back. I was told by the owner that he would review me poorly if I left review however I feel like if you choose to stay here you should know that it is an issue. Read more

I loved everything about it except the parking garage, which was extremely tight with VERY narrow ramps that sometimes required backing up to avoid scraping the sides. Aug 2021This place was described in the listing just like it shows in person for the actual room. Beautiful views! The only downfall to it is the parking garage. I drive a Toyota 4Runner and had to back up, pull up, back up, pull up several times just to get up ONE ramp, and there are multiple ramps just like it. Annoying. I parked in the other parking lot after arriving the first night and seeing how terrible it was because the sign said “large SUVs” only to find a warning on my car the next morning that it was going to be towed because it wasn’t 16’ in length. I typed the dimensions into a Google search and turns out the 4Runner is 15.9’. Morel of the story…if you have a small, compact vehicle, don’t hesitate to stay. If you drive a large SUV that is not 16’ in length or greater, be hesitant. I didn’t move my car all week after finding parking on the lower level.
I rated it low because I really think the parking situation should be explain in the listing, as I see many others have had similar issues after reading reviews. Read more

The owner was excellent in communicating quickly & answering any questions we had. He was very gracious in refunding because we were there during the Covid 19.
The condo was accurately described. The other residents were very friendly & welcoming. The building was clean and the pools & hot tub, washroom and grounds were beautiful.
The parking lot was as described- a tight fit, but.... if you're on vacation you have time to go slowly! We have a large suv and did fine.
The neighbourhood was quiet, but close enough to the more festive beach areas if wanted.
Ted was kind about allowing our grown children & grand children visit.
I've seen comments about the pull out couch in the living room, but it was very comfy-even for grown adults.
There is an extra sink and counter top in the bedroom that was very handy, but I hadn't seen it in any of the photos, so that was a real bonus.
I feel that it was a wonderful place, and would recommend it to anyone who felt the description & photos matched their lifestyle!

Jul 2022Property was very nice and as described. It was an easy to get to end unit. The balcony was our favorite part with the nice view of the ocean. Location was perfect as it was near everything we wanted to do. The property security and staff were very friendly. The balcony was sandy (as is expected at a beachfront property) but there was a broom we were able to use to sweep up a bit. The kitchen had all the basic equipment needed.
They did have some issues with the elevator but repairs were done fast.
Tips for visitors (also stated in the rental agreement): pack your own sheets, towels (don’t forget your hand towels & washcloths), dishwashing soap, paper towels, sponge to wash dishes, toilet paper. We were glad we remembered that LOL! We did leave our extra behind for the next guests.

Apartment had two remotes for each of the tvs and you could not bounce around to different channels- only go back to the previous channel and no guide was provided for what channels came with the service. May 2022Our stay at this condo was great! The condo was just as described in the listing. It had everything we needed for us to cook some meals (we brought our own stuff such as cooking spray, paper towels, paper plates and other necessities, etc). The kitchen is well equipped. The 2 pools were perfect for relaxing and for our little girl to have lots of fun. Also, the beach across from the building is super nice, clear water, small waves and not crowded at all. The ocean view from the condo is beautiful and perfect for relaxing. We will definitely see ourselves coming back and booking Ted's place again. Read more

Jun 2020Our family stayed in this unit for 4 days in June. First of all this website made for owners and I can't post any pictures and videos to prove my worlds, but owners can. Unfortunately I can't post my phone number or email . When we arrived the unit was very dirty. The sand was all over the floor. Furniture was dusty, empty water bottle was under kitchen table. After we found a hair and trimmed nail on the bedside table our curiosity has increased and we looked behind it and it was dirty as well. The bed sheets which I paid for extra smelled clean but had some kind of spots. I took the picture of it as well. No soap in the unit. No extra trash bags. The queen size couch is poor quality and you can't use it to sleep. We saw cockroaches. On the previous review Ted mentioned that he wishes that people contact him right away and we did it. I sent him pictures and videos. And his response was to send us a cleaning person, but it didn't work for us, because we have 3 year old kid and we have been driving for 12 hours. He was was very rude saying that we are trying to find issues with his unit for purpose. He also didn't return yet our refundable damage deposit. We ll see. Other than that Unit location and view was wonderful. We are positive family and people like TED won't ruin our vacation. Read more

Apr 2021If you leave the curtain's to the lanai open, there is a magnificent view of the ocean to welcome you back every time you return to the condo in the daylight.
This was our home away from home for three months and we felt and safe and secure the entire time.
We arrived late our first day unpacked the car, made the beds and promptly went to bed. The condo was acceptably clean when we arrived however the next morning we dusted, swept and cleaned the condo to our liking.
The parking ramp seemed a little tight at first for our Jeep Grand Cherokee, but got easier to navigate, as I got more used to the narrow up ramps.
The sliding doors can be heard if not closed slowly, and the owners will let you know if you don't. We had some bugs but Ted got the bug guys in there promptly.
We were disappointed the Ocean Forest pool's, hot tub and sauna were closed because of Covid 19 but understood the reasoning.
The laundry was conveniently located on the 7th floor and the room was nice and neat. The large capacity washers and dryers were $2 each.
You can walk the beach for miles, if you go barefoot, but if you are a tenderfoot like me and need sneakers, you can go about 4 miles to the north without getting your sneakers wet and even further if you head south, it's great exercise for the old ticker.
The Food Lion the Walmart Grocery store and many nice restaurants were all within a three mile radius. If you were so inclined, you could walk to each and leave your vehicle parked in the ramp.
There are 2 charcoal BBQ pits located on the southside of the building in the oversized vehicle parking lot. The kitchen appliances were all relatively new and worked adequately. The WiFi was simple to connect to and as you probably already know, weather permitting Myrtle Beach is a golfer's paradise.
If we needed to contact the owner, Ted always got back with us quickly, he was pleasantly professional in any conversation we had with him. We would highly recommend Ted as an owner and his Ocean Forest Condo unit 1213. Read more

Jul 2021I don't really have much to say other than it was exactly as pictured and described. Quiet and clean resort, with all the amenities one would need. The indoor and outdoor pool were always spotless as well as the unit upon arrival. The only issue we had was with the parking garage. A sign or something would be nice to direct trucks into the oversized lot. Also after we left maybe an hour later I received a text thanking us for cleaning and respecting the owners property. We always take pride in leaving clean and it was nice to see it appreciated! We will most certainly be coming back here next year! Read more

May 2022Condo is as described. It’s clean and the property is maintained nicely I would note the shower needs a handrail for seniors. Ocean views were perfect. Balcony had plenty of chairs. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked (the skillets need replaced, I wouldn’t use them) The garage is awful. I did read that Trucks and SUVs would have trouble but I have a Honda Accord and it’s not fun. I was told to swing wide but there’s not enough room to do that. So there was a lot of backing and maneuvering. The garage is enough to make me steer clear of this resort. I would also note I would have appreciated a heads up that there was some kind of work going on with the balconies. I’m glad they are maintaining the building but really? The owner should have blacked out this week. There were 3 days when it was impossible to be in there it was so loud. Not a very relaxing few days for my only trip to MB this year. All in all, I would rent this condo with this owner again in a heartbeat, just not in this building. Read more

Big hotels seemed a mile or so away leaving the beach pretty empty and to ourselves! HVAC seemed to have a hard time keeping up even though it was a mild 77-80 degrees during our stay and thermostat was very old. Other than that it fit all of our needs and wants! Read more
