Situated in Bar Harbor, this lovely entire apartment for £334 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Non Smoking Family & Pet friendly second floor apartment. Private entrance and parking. Full kitchen, completely furnished including service for four, all towels & linens are provided. There is a full size washer & dryer in the unit for our guests convenience. We have basic cable and DVD player. Deck w/ BBQ Grill, outside picnic table, swing, hammock. We are located 5 mi. from downtown Bar Harbor, close to main Acadia Park entrance. Wildlife right out your window. Ocean less than half mi. away. Hamilton's Pond right down the street is a favorite fishing location, teaming w/ bass, perch, and other fresh water fish, turtles, beavers, and assorted bird life, such as eagles and peregrine falcons. Enjoy the peace and quiet of Downeast Maine. Well behaved pets welcome.
Hiking, Bicycling, mountain climbing, kayaking, paddle boarding: Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park offer many miles of hiking trails and carriage paths that are all well maintained and provide fantastic opportunities to enjoy the many natural wonders the island has to offer. There are multiple businesses offering bike rentals close by or bring your own bikes, we offer secure areas to store them while you are here.
Kayaking, canoeing, boating.: Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park offer vast opportunities to explore the area from both fresh water and salt water venues. There are several places to rent canoes or kayaks or feel free to bring your own, we have plenty of space to securely store them during your stay.
Bird Watching: Mount Desert Island, Acadia National Park and the Downeast Maine area are a bird watchers paradise. From eagles, osprey and peregrines to multitudes of water fowl as well as many various visitors on migratory routes the numbers of birds are phenomenal. Whether you chose to simply watch the chickadees, nuthatch and goldfinch that visit our feeders or the eagles that hunt on the pond down the street, there is always a variety of species to marvel at. Mar 2015We really enjoyed this apartment. It was very close to Acadia (both sides) and also close enough to Bar Harbor to get there whenever we needed. We also appreciated how quiet the location was.
I appreciated having a washer and dryer (with soap!) to use, and also spent some time enjoying the hammock outside.
As long as you don't mind that you won't be "downtown," I very much recommend this location. The price is competitive too! Read more

The location is close to Bar Harbor and everything we wanted to see and yet quite. Gayle and Rob are great hosts and did everything possible to make us comfortable. We highly recommend this place. Oct 2019This is an over the garage type of unit. It was VERY QUIET. Most of the appliances were new and worked well. This property is 10-15 minutes out of town and from the park, so everything is a drive. The bed was firm, but comfortable. The couch is a sleeper sofa, so wasn't too comfy to sit on. Aug 2012This is a GREAT apartment! It's Located in a really wonderful area. Peace and quiet describe your stay perfectly. Gayle and Rob are friendly, helpful and welcoming to their guests without intruding. You can get all over the island from their location easily. In fact, to visit the "other side" of the island is easier from this location. They have a welcome book with really terrific descriptions of various hikes, their difficulty level, how to find them, where to park and what you will experience on the hike. I found this extremely helpful. I absolutely suggest the Wonderland Hike! The beach head is a bit of heaven on earth. We saw deer each evening on the property! The Pond just down from the property is full of birdlife! The apartment was clean, bright, airy and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need or want. The deck was a perfect place to reflect on the day and enjoy a glass of wine. I really enjoyed my stay and would totally reccomend this property. Read more

Aug 2020This apartment was comfortable and convenient to both sides of the island. Gayle and Rob were very available when I had questions, and very friendly. The apartment was clean and well equipped. Our children, 10 and 12 years old, slept on the pull out sofa and were comfortable. We even had room for the dog's crate! Aug 2020The property is dense and you can see all kinds of animals strolling around. It was beautiful and lush. Rob & Gayle are wonderful hosts.
They had all kinds of suggestions, like, the Fjord, or drive to Southwest Harbor, Acadia Nat'l Park, they would suggest places that would be a fun ride or a great place to go and see.
The apt, was clean, and had everything I would need. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and can't wait to come back next year. Read more

We had everything we needed and they even had a binder full of information on local places, Acadia, etc. They were always accomodating and available for questions. Rob drove us one afternoon to nearby areas, which we probably would have missed. He had such a great knowledge of the area. The apartment was very convenient to downtown Bar Harbour, about a 15 minute drive and super close to Acadia. I would highly recommend the Dragonfly. We can't wait to come back to visit Maine! Aug 2018Rob and Gayle are very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the quiet even though this vacation rental is located in Bar Harbor. Everything is close and easy to get to. The apartment is just right for 2 people and has everything you would need. We especially liked the deck and the wildlife that can be seen while drinking your morning coffee or reading the paper before the sun goes down. Everything was perfect. Nov 2021Rob and Gayle are phenomenal hosts - knowledgeable about the area, friendly, sincere, generous. The apartment location could not be better- a couple of minutes drive to Acadia, center of Bar Harbor. Yet, it's private, away frown touristy hustle and bustle. You can really relax here; there is a fire pit, a grill, and a hammock. The apartment itself is very clean, and with everything you could possibly need. Jul 2021Our stay at this property was fantastic. The property is about 10 minutes outside of downtown Bar Harbor. It also provides a good starting point for many of Acadia’s most popular spots and the more quiet side of the park. We were able to access all areas of the island without difficulty.
The hosts were fantastic, available if we needed them and thought of everything you would need to make a stay comfortable. They also provided a resource book with tons of helpful info about Bar Harbor and Acadia.
The kitchen was complete and we had no issues cooking and storing all of our meals. They also provided a grill for our use.
The bed and sleeper futon were very comfortable, no central AC but window unit in bedroom, standing fan and cross breeze it was always comfortable.
You do have the entire 2nd floor apartment to yourself, use of a hammock, fire pit and outdoor areas. The apartment was super clean upon arrival as well.
Overall this was a great find in a quiet section of the island that made our vacation wonderful! Read more

Sep 2021My husband and I needed to get away from home. So I suggested Dragon Fly. I was concerned my husband would be bored as he doesn't like to stand still long. Jul 2021Everything was absolutely wonderful. The property was beautifully maintained and off the beaten path just enough. Nothing was more than a 20 minute drive and the owners Rob and Gayle were so kind and thoughtful upon our entry and exit. They made recommendations, all were wonderful and made sure our daughter, 18 months, and two dogs were comfortable during the stay.

Jul 2016Dragonfly woods is the perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor. It is beautiful inside and out. The kids (and dog)enjoyed their back yard and blueberry bushes. The apartment is so well stocked. The linens and towels are high quality. Rob and Gayle are the most helpful hosts. They gave us great suggestions and told us not to hesitate in asking them questions. The rental is close to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. We had the best week. I almost want to keep this place a secret. Read more

Jul 2016Dragonfly Woods Apartment was perfect for our family of 4, with two young children. The apartment is very clean, and well equipped to meet our needs. We were able to have most of breakfasts and dinners in the apartment.
We really liked the location of the apartment. It's only few miles from the Hulls Cove Visitor Center and downtown Bar Harbor. There is a shuttle stop a short walk from the apartment. The shuttle is free, and this particular route goes to the visitor center and then downtown.
Our hosts Gayle and Rob were very friendly and helpful. Before we arrived, they had a high chair and a pack'n play out in the apartment for our toddler. The kids spent a lot of time playing in the yard, on the swings or the hammock in the evening.
We would definitely recommend the property to others, and wouldn't hesitate to rent it again if we were to visit Acadia again. Read more

Same quality you would use in your own place. Especially liked the bath sheet. Ron and Gayle are friendly and helpful. They make you feel like neighbors that they enjoy. Fully recommend staying there.
