Aug 2020We were in New Braunfel's for our son's wedding and rented 2 different units for our stay. This unit was much more updated, decorated very well, and cleaner. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of seating in the living room and kitchen. I much preferred this unit. Yes, the other unit had a better patio view, as this unit's patio does face the parking lot, but It was too hot to enjoy the patios anyway. This is small, but since we had to fly and were limited with our luggage space, it would be very nice if they provided pool towels and hotel size shampoo and conditioner as well as salt and pepper, and coffee and coffee filters for at least a day or so. Jul 2021Very peaceful and felt secure with an excellent security guard on watch, the place was amazing, had great mattress and comfortable pillows and big flat screen TV’s in every room. Jun 2021The location of the condo complex is great - close to Schlitterbahn & restaurants. Size of the unit is very spacious - plenty of room for everyone, very clean & beds were comfy. Only “issues” we encountered were with the common areas/pools being dirty but we arrived on Sunday and pool is cleaned on Mondays. Other guests left trash at the bottom of the stairs each night and while there is ample parking, people still managed to park in the wrong spots. Bring your own items to play games, cook, or if you are long stay - kitchen is sparsely stocked compared to others we have rented in the past. Also hopefully you won’t have upstairs tenants because you hear EVERY movement they make. Read more

Several of us lost our wrist bands while floating the river and he kept stopping us on our last day at 7:00pm that we needed to contact management and get new ones. The condo was gorgeous and in an excellent location. Two pools on property and three hot tubs. River was with in walking distance however the water was not moving and smelled horribly. It’s not a floatable portion of the river. Only two parking passes provided in a house that holds 8. When asked for extras we were told they could not give more. 6 of our guests were forced to park on the street. No shuttle on property as advertised. Staff was very rude and there were very few instructions and directions provided on how to get on the river. Overall the property was very nice, customer service is just very important to me and they definitely are lacking. Read more

Very nice condo! Not only spacious, but the perfect arrangement of bedrooms for our crew of 8. Although our bands and parking passes were not there when we arrived, the after hours management took action right away and we had them before we returned from getting the kids ice cream. I deducted one star because some of the towels were still wet in the drier, so we had to finish them ourselves. Overall. a very wonderful vacation and we will definitely be back! Read more

We have spent our past 9 years at this Waterwhell resort. Again we had a great winter experience in a lovely condo . The amenities of this condo are exceptional. The unit was clean but perhaps a focus on cleaning window ledges and under the bed dust bunnies present on our arrival could be addressed. The only complaint we have is that for a three bedroom condo the dining table is small , circular and unable to accommodate more than 2 people. The circular small table limits seating and the pedestal bar stools (no chairs with backs) are extremely uncomfortable. We and many other renters question whether the management companies/owners are aware of the large increase in dog population and subsequent "deposits" on the general property by irresponsible owners. Have enjoyed our winter Texan experience at Waterwheel Resort for 10 years. Have rented a few different condos with different management groups. Love our newer condo for its amenities, most comfortable beds and overall decor. Condo buildings, pools and surrounding property are well maintained. River City Resort management group is responsive and courteous. Unfortunately, this 3 bedroom condo has a very user unfriendly dining room table and bar style chairs. Extremely uncomfortable and impossible to seat more than 2-3 people at the round table or enjoy an evening of cards/games. We are hopeful that our requests via River City Resorts to the owners will result in a proper table and chairs with backs so we can more fully enjoy entertaining family and friends. The living room furniture is showing signs of wear and again we have reported the conditions to the management group and hope that owners will provide some ongoing maintenance to ensure quality accommodations. So glad we missed the frigid winter back in Canada even though weather here was coolest we have had in 10 years! This Unit is tastefully decorated, beds excellent and newer appliances makes our 3 month stay very comfortable. Furniture is showing some wear and once again have asked Management Agency to request from owners a proper table and chairs with backs for dining room. The vacation rental itself was perfect for our group of 8 people. Everyone slept comfortably and the amenities provided by the resort were perfect. The location was close to the river and waterpark. The only damper to our stay was the poor customer service received. Upon arrival, we did not receive our parking pass or wristbands. I contacted the office and sent an email in which no one responded to. The next day when I picked up the tubes, I mentioned to Dinah that we did not receive those items on arrival. Instead of simply rectifying the situation by giving us the items. She proceeded to insinuate that we did not see the envelope on the kitchen counter. We explained that none of the 8 people saw this envelope. She continued to be snide in her responses and proceeded to ask at least 7 times whether or not we saw the envelope and even stated she is surprised security did not stop us. I came to realize that even if the envelope were on the counter (which it was not) security would not have been able to stop us on arrival because the passes would be located on the kitchen counter. So I was very confused by her comments and insulted. Finally I politely told her to not ask me the same question that has already been answered several times. Magically she was able to simply turn around in her chair and grab the passes. When we left the premises she also finally responded to the email I sent the day prior. I will say the gentleman handing out the tubes was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately I did not get his name but he exhibited excellent customer service. Read more

I did not receive the email that stated I needed to download the app, so when I called to inquire about checking in the girl I spoke to only would tell me to download the app. "Everything is in the app".
