Not only is Poinciana 209 the ideal private getaway spot, its fantastic value with so much to offer. With spacious rooms, this extra-large one-bedroom apartment boasts sensational views from the top floor of the building.
Picture yourself on the expansive white-tiled balcony, relaxing with a drink at the outdoor setting, while soaking up the magnificent views. There is also a barbeque on the balcony for outdoor entertaining.
The apartment is completely self-contained, air-conditioned throughout and includes a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. All crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, linen, bath towels and beach towels are supplied.
The spacious lounge and dining area features a sofa bed and 7 piece dining setting, large digital TV, DVD player and iPod Stereo Docking Station.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, single day bed and your own TV.
Poinciana Apartments have its own private pool which the guest have access to, along with the use of all the Resort Pools and Resort Facilities.

Mar 2019We stayed at the apartment in early March for 4 nights. It has recently been decorated and now has new flooring throughout.
The main lounge is nicely furnished with a great new corner suite...so comfortable!
The kitchen and bathroom are still to be updated but we found them clean, fully functional and the shower had good pressure. The main bed was large and very comfortable, with new fresh bed linen and fluffy towels.
The location of the apartment is excellent - 7 min walk to the marina or a 7 mins walk the opposite way to the lovely Catseye beach. Having the use of the buggy was a huge plus for us and we used it daily. Just remember you must wear your seatbelt from the moment you drive it.
Views from the apartment were amazing - palm trees and a stunning sea view. Our highlight was seeing the Wallabies on the lawn every afternoon, such a great sight along with all the cockatiels! The bat dance at dusk was also an added extra....fascinating to watch!
The only downside for us (as visitors from the UK) was the lack of WIFI at the apartment, but that’s our own fault for assuming it had it. We were able to buy a daily code from the hotel resort for WiFi access $10 but it was only for limited areas on the island and it didn’t reach the apartment.
To end, we’ve had a fantastic stay here, thank you and if it was nearer the UK we'd definitely be staying here again.
As holiday home owners ourselves and quite particular, we’re happy to highly recommend staying here.

Apr 2021We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. It was clean and near all other places on the island. The bed was really comfortable and the sofa bed in the living room was a bonus as the kids spent most of their time on it.
The view from the balcony of the beach is breathtakingly beautiful.

Jan 2017We love our stay at 209 Poincana the view from the deck and lounge was outstanding. Even though the apartment comes with a buggy it's a very easy walk to town and Island resort pool and beach. The apartment itself is very comfortable and has everything you need to feel like a home away from home. The are a few bits of furniture that is probably ready for an upgrade and the booking agent has said that's going to happen, just had been able to happen as our booking was from Xmas day a bad time of year to be doing any upgrading and we totally understood and it made no difference to the amazing time we had there. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Inclusion of the buggy was great as it allowed us to explore and saved us walking any hills between beach or marina and allowed us some trips up one tree hill. Wet weather covers were a huge bonus and certainly not the norm on the island. View is second to none - loved watching the wallabies and bird life - even saw some deer! Oct 2019This place was perfect for our needs with a 17 month old. The included buggy was excellent. The view over cats eye beach was beautiful! The bed was really comfortable. Location was great! Walking distance to everything. My only complaint was all the dishes we went to use were dirty so I had pre wash everything I wanted to use. Having a buggy included was the best thing this property offered; the island is very steep and it made exploring much more enjoyable. We barely spent any time in the apartment but it could have benefited from a good clean, the floor felt dirty on our bare feet when we arrived and was a bit dusty on lamps ect. In saying that for the price compared to other accommodation on the island it was good value for money. Read more

What the property provided was good .
It could definitely do with an update like others in the building- but was more than fine. The floors were filthy. I re - washed
t-towels and the stability of the fridge could be looked at, it needed extra care when closing it each time.

The included buggy makes it a breeze to get around the island - and the buggy also includes fold-down weather protection, which most buggies seemed not to.
The price seems a bit high, but then again most places on Hamilton Island are extortionately expensive so it's actually comparatively cheap.
The apartment itself is very spacious, and the bed comfortable and large (although it is two joined single beds). The bathroom in particular is a little dated, and the outside of the building is as ugly as most of the hotels and apartments on Hamilton Island - but you don't tend to notice this when you're inside! The kitchen is well appointed and there are two LCD TVs.
The valet service to and from the airport was perfect.
Overall, this is a great property that might be a little dated but is fantastic value and in a great location. Read more

The unit was grotty all cutlery and dinnerware required washing before use and the floors were filthy.The bathroom and bedding was disgusting and linen required washing the mattresses themselves would not have passed any sort of sanitation audit and certainly past the used by date.The bathroom had not been cleaned or suitable for use.

Yes the apartment is a little dated and it does show signs of wear and tear but for the money I spent I could not have been happier. Mar 2022Booked for 2 Adults & 2 Kids, turned up and had 1 bed /double bed and that was it made up when we got there. Found out couch folded out and a couch in the bedroom folded down but than had no linen or pillows so had to organise them to be dropped off to room.
Had no hot water, hot water system got replaced on the second day but still didn't have hot water for the second night also. Was fixed on the 3rd day. Was told if needed a shower there are showers beside IGA that the boaties use, On the last night the fridge tripped out and we had to throw everything out that was in the fridge because it had gone hot. Messaged owner for no response. Asked for reimbursement for the nights that we had no hot water to be told you will have to contact who you booked through which is Stayz.com. An overall terrible experience and wouldn't stay there again, who wants to pay good money for somewhere that you couldn't even have a shower unless you like cold showers. Read more

This apartment needs a Reno looked like one had been done but very poorly
Expected it to be more plush seeing we payed a lot of money for a weeks stay
Probably would not recommend for a toddler the balcony outside was a very low height and they could easily climb over it plus there was no lift to the top floor

Oct 2018As with other reviews, it is a bit outdated and could do with a facelift. This though is hardly significant, as it is a great large one bedroom unit with a great outlook. Having breakfast on the balcony with the view is amazing. The unit has all the basic essentials required, with a large lounge room and bedroom. The bathroom is certainly dated but still very functional. The valet service provided is excellent, both on arrival and departure. The buggy with the unit is a big plus and a fantastic way to get around. Our stay was very pleasant and will definitely return. The position is convenient to everything, the marina being a two minute trip in the buggy as is the main pool and most restaurants. Overall, we had a great week and really no complaints. Read more

Yes, the apartment is large and has amazing views. And the use of the buggy was great addition and we loved this.
But the apartment itself is another story. Yes, it is outdated and the whole place feels like a cheap motel, but the main issue is the cleaniness or lack of. For the price,I think it's quite shameful not to be able to upgrade the dirty couch or buy some nice and clean bed sheets or new towels. Like basics. The couch is disgusting, we had to put our own towels just to sit on it, I felt totally gross as it has stains. The same with bed sheets. They were dirty,supposed to be white but had highly visible yellow and brown stains, I felt so uncomofrtable to sleep in it. There was no extra sheets and the extra cover or extra blanket we wanted to use were disgusting and smelly. Very unimpressive and gross. The bed is not exactly a bed either-it's two single mattrasses put on one, no bed frame,pillows also yellow and stained. They removed the mirror and put extra single bed there which is not any cleaner. For this price, we could have stayed in a proper resort, but missed out as we booked last min. Def a mistake and would not be coming back.
Overall, with little bit of love and though, this place could be very nice. A cheap couch, a cheap bed and target bed sheets would make a huge difference. And yes nice towels. Get rid of stinky old linen too. Not much thought has been put in for the experience of home away from home. And yes the tiles need a good wash. Couldn't wait to get home to my clean house. Read more

The apartment is run down though and in need of a renovation! Shower door was broken and very hard to open and shut. Could use new linen too.
