Situated in Colo Vale, this lovely entire cabin for £173 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Welcome to Falling Waters Colo Vale. Colo Vale (colloquially known as the Vale) is situated North of the Historic towns of Berrima, Bowral and Mittagong, 5kms from the Hume Hwy and 125km from Sydney CBD.
The beautiful Southern Highlands is one of the most unique places in NSW. The Highlands are renowned for its history, stunning scenery, wines and pies.
If you are looking for a romantic weekend, quick getaway, quiet escape in a stunning location, Falling Waters Colo Vale has everything you need. A fully self contained log cabin with open fire, luxury king size bed, kitchen for all your needs.
Richard and Deb are your hosts along with Brent and Mykala and our fur kids Bella and Sam. They are often wandering around the property, extremely friendly and rule the roost, there are 14 chickens and 3 sheep and we also have resident Wombats which come out late at night if your lucky you might see them! There is so much abundant bird life we just take a guess on what we can hear and see, Kangaroos also pop up for a visit every now and then.
There are NOT a lot of shops near the property, Hill Top which is 5kms up the road which is closest has a Chinese Restaurant and is open most days, the Bakery which also makes chicken, pies, pastries etc, a Newsagent, Post Office and Bottle shop, there is also a take away shop which has really nice Pizzas, there are brochures for you to browse in the manifest in the kitchen. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets in Mittagong and Bowral.
As an added bonus we are located 15 minutes away from the Southern Highlands wineries and all that the Southern Highlands has to offer.
Falling Waters Colo Vale is situated on 35 acres, if you are into walking/hiking there are several walking tracks on the property you are free to walk around but we ask that if you have a pet with you please keep your pet on a leash due to the fact that the property has a lot of bush and wildlife.
The property has 3 creeks running through it with a large gorge down the bottom of the track with some small waterfalls.
The luxury log cabin is a home away from home and is positioned for privacy and offers comfort and parking availability.

The location was great. The house is quiet and peacefully located on the property, and Very comfortable and well laid out. We had everything we needed, all the amenities as described. There was more than enough space for 2 young kids to play inside and out; a fenced yard for our puppies too.
The owners are really friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had great communication and suggestions for what to see/where to visit locally.
We loved our stay and would definitely recommend!

Jan 2021We had a lovely 3 night stay with our 2 kids and puppy. It is extremely comfortable and cosy with everything you need to just relax. Richard and Deb were very welcoming with allowing the girls to feed the sheep, allowing us to play with their beautiful golden retrievers and have some eggs fresh from the chickens and veges from the garden. It was super clean (no animal scents - you wouldn’t know); tidy and comfortable with a real fire and central heating/cooling. So cozy!!
The bathroom and bedrooms are lovely with a very big shower rose and stunning avocado bath to really soak and get warm in. We’re definitely coming back.

Jun 2020The cabin is very comfortably furnished and is very bright and warm. A most efficient wood-burning stove (endless firewood is available) supplements an effective reverse-cycle air-conditioner in the main room and column heaters in the bedrooms.
The kitchen is quite adequately equipped - there is a pair of frying pans which shows the owners know what they are doing - and the stove, while appearing a little dated, is in fact very good. Being keen cooks we brought our own knives, but the ones supplied were actually quite good enough. There is also a sturdy and reliable Webber outside.
There is a pod-type coffee maker, a slow cooker, a toasty-maker, a big toaster, a milk-frother etc.
The nice, bright bathroom has a lovely, hot shower and a bath as well. The towels supplied were huge and fluffy.
There is a fenced, grassy yard for the family pets to play in, and on the other side of the cabin a fenced, sunny veranda - the veranda fence will contain a larger dog, but a terrier can (and did) slip through to go and visit the resident chooks. (No harm done - this terrier loves all animals and was just curious and in any case the chooks are locked safely behind a fence.)
The two golden retrievers that own the property will accompany you on your walks around the home paddock and further afield along the driveway or the local fire trails.
Deb, your host, is a delight, always available to assist, but by no means insistent: although the cabin is only a couple of metres away from the main house, you feel as if you have the grounds to yourself.
There is no WiFi, but the 4G signal is strong and steady. Read more

May 2019My family, our pet dog and I stayed 3 nights at Falling Waters and had a wonderful stay. Deb and Richard were very hospitable and helpful. The kids loved the two resident labradors Sam and Bella, and fetching freshly laid eggs from the chicken coup was a real treat. The cottage was comfortable and well appointed. The only reason for rating 4 stars instead of 5 is the fridge stopped working during our stay. (The freezer was fine.) I understand it will be replaced soon, so good news there. We visited the location as we have never stayed in that area, often driving thru to Mittagong and beyond... the log cottage was ideal for our family, with a fabulous fireplace and Foxtel, all you really needed for a short break, with both a bath and shower in the bathroom. The accomodation is set adjacent to the owners house, has a separate entrance and private.
The hospitality by Deb and her family was very welcoming. It was great to sample the owners chickens eggs and enjoyed the friendly dogs and watching the sheep...You enter the property thru a forest of pines, which provides a great curtain between leaving your work life and welcome country life.
A great experience and a credit to hosts.
PS.. this was our first time away since covid, it was great to see the responsible precautions taken by the owners in providing sanitizer and extra cleaning etc, was very reassuring. Read more

Aug 2020An excellent little cabin in the Bush with Farm animals near by and perfectly quiet and secluded. Even though you are next to the main house, because of the orientation you don’t even notice.
We went in middle of winter and the fireplace was magical. To top it off, it’s pet friendly so our two little dogs had a mini holiday too.
The drive to Mittagong and Bowral was negligible, I think we took 20 minutes to Bowral and the wineries and barely 10 to Mittagong.
