Sep 2018We were worried when we booked if we could arrive late but our hosts were amendable to our 10 pm arrival. The hosts' home is behind this property so they are accessible if you have any needs. We got a tour of their home which was amazing what Ruth has created, she is very talented and the gates she made for the home are amazing. It is decorated with such a cool vibe. We were only 2 people so we only used the main room and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Kitchen is nicely set up and she even brought us orange juice with prosecco. It was about a 30 minute to wineries, and up to an hour to farther wineries but the drive along the way was pleasing. I wish we had more time to enjoy the outdoor seating area. Bella Sienna was a good restaurant nearby. Read more

Jun 2020We stayed at the property for a week with our 2 dogs and loved our time there. This was a working trip so we stayed at the property most of the time, plugged into our laptops. Both my husband and I worked and had ample space and plenty of wifi bandwidth to handle to workload.
Ruby and Rob were great hosts and very helpful in providing direction and suggestion on what we should see and do while in Benicia. The property is located at the end of a quiet street and close to the downtown area as well as the marina. Likewise, you aren't far from Napa and Sonoma and plenty of winery options.
The property had everything we needed and was a very enjoyable stay for us. We highly recommend the property! Read more

Jul 2020This place is really fun! The location is great. The drive to San Francisco is less than an hour, and the house is located just a few minutes from downtown Benicia and the waterfront. We enjoyed the shops and view. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We LOVED the patio area and fire pit. Breakfast was eaten outside every morning, and we roasted marshmallows over the fire. My husband is a plant guy and really enjoyed everything that was growing. The kitchen is well stocked with some extras that you don't often see in a rental: bottles of wine, marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, roasting sticks, spices, and coffee. Sep 2019My friends and I had a great time here, such a unique and zany atmosphere. The outdoor patio area is a delight given the often high temperatures in the area, and the house AC works great. Only thing I had an issue with was the listing not being super-clear that this property is an add-on to the owner's main residence, so they are right next door. It is in the listing, just at the very bottom. Wasn't an issue for us, even when we watched movies late at night, but might be uncomfortable for others. Your mileage may vary! The owners are very pleasant and the property is a great find, so hardly a deal-breaker! Read more

Dec 2019My family and I stayed here for 5 nights over Thanksgiving so that we didn’t have to burden our in laws with a packed house :) Our stay here exceeded my expectations. The owners, Ruby and Rob who live on the property in the attached home, were so nice and welcoming. The kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of condiments, dish ware, and flatware. I’m so used to bringing my own spices when we travel so that we don’t need to buy them at a local market- not necessary here.
