Situated in Grasstree Beach, this charming entire house for £119 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Air conditioned renovated 2 bedroom unit with a deck overlooking Zelma Bay including outdoor furniture and BBQ. This unit has ocean views from almost all aspects even while in the kitchen, living room or bedrooms. Beachside and central on Grasstree Beach it gives views of of Zelma bay and the entrance to Cabbage Tree Creek.
Inside consists of 2 bedrooms, open plan living area with all the amenities you would expect from a recently renovated self contained unit. Well suited for the couple or small family.
Grasstree Beach is one of the more secluded beachside locations available in the Mackay region. Appealing to those that want the tranquility of a small beach community or the reclusive couple or family looking for that place just outside of town (16km to Sarina or 37km to Mackay). Grasstree Beach boasts the reputation of having an enviable position with gorgeous views of Zelma bay and easy access to boaties via its own boat ramp that includes pontoon walkway which is situated on Cabbage Tree Creek. For many though it is purely about retreating to somewhere to enjoy downtime with gentle ocean breezes, good company, great conversation and a drink of choice on the deck.
This accommodation is a fully self contained unit with all most desired amenities available exclusively to the guests. There are no shared spaces with the exception of the laundry. Full size fridge and fully equipped renovated kitchen with modern Bosch appliances for those that enjoy to cook.
There are two bedrooms with each room having a either a Double or Queen size bed. Perfect for the couples getaway or 2 people that need their own room and privacy without the compromise on bedding. As mentioned the laundry is a shared area and one of the two carports are available for the downstairs unit.
We respect that your beach getaway is exactly that and we love just leaving our guests to their own devices and enjoying the space we offer like it is their own. We are always available for any issues although we do not live on site and will generally try to not be seen or heard even if we do have to get around to doing some jobs at the units. In saying that we have enjoyed meeting many of our guests who visit and come from all corners of Australia and the globe and enjoy hearing their feedback on how much they have enjoyed the experience of being a guest and sometimes offering some locals knowledge where we can to enhance their stay.
This is a low tempo beach, there is often an influx of day trippers using the facilities and visiting the beach but at night it could be described as utter tranquility as it transforms back to the locals only haunt. We would love you to be one of our locals for a weekend.
There is no public transportation at Grasstree Beach. Parking is ample on the property although we do ask that people do not park on the lawns. Sarina is 16km away, Mackay is 37km and the closest takeaway or fuel is 10 minutes drive at Sarina Beach.
As with most beachside locations there is always the chance of unwanted weather which hinders the outdoor/alfresco lifestyle. Unfortunately our weather controlling machine doesn't exist as yet but its on the list if we ever get the chance to buy one. Read more

I have heard nothing but praise about their stay at the Writers Retreat. The fellas commented on how great the accommodation was and how friendly and informative the owner and locals were.
