Sep 2020Trout Run was a fun getaway with the stream for fishing and the campfire stream side. The cabin is older and in need of some updates, but it met our needs and we enjoyed the little decorative touches that give it that cabin feel. Great place for kids!! Our only discontent was the level of fees that Yellow Rose Reality charged for one night on top of the rental and the reasonable VRBO fee and they were not willing to work with us on it. Read more

Aug 2021This is the third time my family has stayed at Trout Run. The location of the property is the biggest draw for my family. We love fishing in the creek and relaxing by the fire pit. The inside of the cabin needs a little attention, especially the furniture. The couch and one of the recliners needs to be replaced. It is also time to replace the mattress in the master bedroom. Oct 2019The write up had 1 1/2 baths in one place and 2 baths in another. There was only 1 1/2baths. The toilet in the master bathroom was wobbly and leaked; there was a broken light in the "queen" bedroom and the light in the closet didn't work. There were broken lights in the living area and the flooring in front of the TV was coming up. The washing machine didn't work properly. The outside lights didn't work.With some overall maintenance, this would be the perfect place. Read more

Oct 2020The picture used is obviously very old. I couldn’t decide if the house needs paint or if it was mildew. The heat was off, so it felt damp and smelled musky when we arrived. The towels were damp feeling and didn’t smell good. The oven was filthy! The back porch hasn’t been swept in a long time. Tables in front was filthy. Evidenced by the Lysol wipes that I was wiping them with. Used soap and water too. Commode in half bath almost threw me in the floor. I have a disability and this would have ruined my vacation. It rocks forward. The bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. Tv had satellite and worked great. Area by the stream is nice. Definitely won’t be back! Worst experience with a VRBO Ever. Read more

My husband and I have stayed at several places from vrbo but this was by far the worst place. No wifi but that's on me for not checking good enough before booking. The only thing that place had going for it was the stream and fire pit. When we walked in the musky smell hit you in the face. Spider webs on stuff and bugs on the wall. We went and rode horses in the Smokey Mountains. We did a day trop to Gatlinburg TN. another day trip to Helan Georgia and went tubing. If you are looking to destess, this is the place. We stayed here for a week and didn't want to leave. The creek was absolutely the best and at the end of the road, and a short hike, you will find Alarka Falls. Had a few activities planned, but ended up cancelling because the property was nice to hang out. But we did rent a pontoon boat on the Santeetlah Lake and had an awesome day. The cabin is in a beautiful area, beautiful yard and creek, appreciate the comfortable clean beds and bathrooms/ tub, kitchen -very clean. Just a few things need repair- one toilet is surprisingly wobbly, a nail in kitchen floor can catch your feet, sleeper couch bed is broken( fell through), dryer left black markings on some of my clothes, the phone cord won’t stay in. We enjoyed the location on the creek, especially with the covered porch so we could enjoy it even in the rain. The half bath needs repairs, the toilet is wobbly. The tapestry above the master/king bed was covered in dust and needed to be cleaned. Could use new pots/pants. The Teflon on the non stick pans we're all coming off. The rental company was responsive when we had an issue turning on the oven & had a guy come out to check on us and clean up some broke glass outside, which we appreciated. Very remote location. Six miles up a winding mountain road. No way to communicate at all. Four ladies had 3 different cell carriers and there was no service from any of them. No internet. No service on home phone. We were concerned because in case of an emergency there was no way to summon help. Alarm didn’t work. It said low battery. The door lock was hard to lock and unlock. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean. The floors were clean, except under and behind furniture. The ceiling fans very very dusty. The living room furniture needs replacing. Couch and 2 recliners dirty. Large recliner handle broken and wouldn’t recline, but didn’t want to sit in it anyway. When sitting in it, something was biting back of legs. It felt like a mosquito bite or some kind if mite. The beds had clean linens and were adequately comfortable. Good supply of towels and washcloths. Very pretty view from front porch. Rushing brook at end of front yard roadside. Bridge across creek turning in off road has no guard rails. You have to be very careful turning in. Driveway in front of bridge needs filling in. Every time when leaving property the bottom of my van scraped because too much of a drop off from concrete. Even though the setting is very pretty, I would not rent again because of lack of communication, driveway situation, and living room furniture being dirty. Read more

We enjoyed sitting outside by the fire and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Alarka Road is out of the way and a little distance from town, but we enjoyed the peace and tranquility when we returned back from our daily excursions. We never saw any trout in the stream and that was disappointing but we found a trout pond and fished that. Oh yeah, the concrete bridge you have to cross to get to the house is a little scary. Upon arrival, we noticed the floors had not been swept. This initially was a big turn off and had me question the cleanliness of the unit all together. It wasn’t a little bit of dirt, it was a big pile of dirt that I swept the day we arrived. Later, I was looking for a bottle of cleaning spray so I could wipe down the counters and table before and after dinner and there was none in the whole place. The master bed has a big dip in the middle, probably from either being worn out or cheap or both. The outside of the fridge/freezer was filthy. Brown and black filth and no cleaner to get it off. The alarm system beeped the ENTIRE LAST NIGHT and we couldn’t get it to stop. <br/>The location was perfect. The water out front was nice and we enjoyed the fire pit. <br/>But we will not be back. The cabin, loose reference, was as expected for the price. We made the trip with 2 children and 4 adults. Upon arrival the cabin was easily accessible set on a beautiful piece of land right on a trout stream. Upon entering the unit it seemed clean enough until I did a perimeter check to get a layout with two pack and plays for the kiddos. The areas behind the dressers and head boards were littered with an obscene amount of dust. It was easily remedied but the cleaning crew could do a better job with such a small unit. All the reviews were accurate as far as WiFi and cell phone use (not accessible). We were able to work around it and communicate through the land line and use the internet when in town. We enjoyed our stay and the changing of the seasons in the mountains exceeded expectations. Read more

We were told the was a stream to fish fir trout.the reason we booked it.wasn't even ankle deep much less we're their fish in it. I would like to send pictures and a video.we left early due to a short in kitchen lught.and the cord on a lamp in the living room was blacken.no cover on gas fireplace. We my daughter and her family along with my husband and my self booked for a week but, she left on a Tuesday we left the next day.so very disappointed. I wish we could get a refund because as far as we're all concern it was just not what was advertised!!!😡� Read more

We left firewood for the next guest. You might want to buy firewood to enjoy the awesome firepit area. Very soothing and peaceful listening to the stream. Nov 2020Location was great. Hearing babbling creek 24/7 was awesome. Even inside, doors and windows closed , fell asleep to that sound. Home is very clean. I read some not so ood reviews and called to ask if issues had been addressed and was told by Casey at Yellowrose that they had. Well toilet in 1/2 bath now is not wobbly, but falls almost over throwing you into sink. Do not sit on couch you will fall through. Fireplace does not work. No hot tub found. Would not recommend house to anyone. Never use Yellorose homes/ rentals again. They lied to me. Read more

Nov 2019It would have been nice if they'd have had some heat on to take the chill off upon our nighttime arrival. It was so, so cold and the space heaters took forever to warm it up to be somewhat comfy. All in all a nice stay. We had an issue with stove which was major as we'd planned on cooking main meal on it, but were given a refund to offset that inconvenience. Jul 2021A front yard and view from the porch are definitely the best part of this listing. The problems that everyone has complained about still had not been repaired as of June 20th 2021. I sent an email in advance of our stay, asking these things been repaired, and their email response was "The issues have been addressed". My husband and I are not large people, I am 4'11" and 100 lbs, and still the couch sank all the way down when I sat on it, and the middle of the king size bed did the same. The smell of mold in the home was so strong that we had to open all of the windows and leave them open during our entire stay, just to be able to breathe well. The toilet in the half bath is still not set correctly, and rocked when I used it the first day, so we opted not to use it again during our stay. Very disappointed that we were missing formed about these issues being corrected. However, the home was very clean, and I commend the housekeeper on her excellent job. I used a diffuser with citronella and lemongrass oil on the front porch, because the gnats and flies were so bad that we could not sit there in the evenings. Because I did not see a review telling otherwise, I also did not know from the listing that there is no Wi-Fi and absolutely no cellular service once you turn off of the main highway.
