Jun 2019We spent 4 days in Carlsbad with our 5 grandchildren, and stayed at La Cueva. It is a beautiful home in a very nice location. It is very near a Walmart superstore, convenient to the Main Street, yet in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and utensils. We were able to park our cars (had to drive 2 cars to hold all of us) in the garage at night. Communication with Adrian was excellent. We have stayed in a number of VRBOs over the last few years, and this was one of the nicest. If we return to Carlsbad with our family sometime, we would definitely hope to stay at La Cueva again!! Thanks!!!

Dec 2018This house was clean and well-maintained. Everything was in good working order. There were extra chairs for the dining room table so we were able to seat everyone for Thanksgiving dinner.
The only issue we had was that there were no no-slip plastic or rubber mats in either bathtub, and both bathtubs were very slippery. Other than this issue, we highly recommend this house! Read more

Sep 2018The place was nice and comfortable. The only drawback was the lack of proper cleaning. The gas grill was so disgusting that we bought a small charcoal grill to use for grilling one night. The dishes and flatware, without exception, all had particles of dried food on them which required washing prior to using. The bath mats were stained and matted. I expected to find an immaculate place since the cleaning feed was $150. What, doesn't the rental fee cover having a clean place to stay. Is a cleaning fee just another way to make money. If the owner is paying someone $150 to clean this place, their getting ripped off. Read more

Mar 2019The owners are so nice and responsive. The location is great for National Parks. The house is lovely and well kept. But gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the neighborhood isn’t so nice. We would stay again, but we were surprised at the contrast between this home and the others nearby. Read more

Jan 2020La Cueva was a perfect family base home for our adventures at Calsbad Caverns with our nephews. Spacious, clean, open, very nicely designed and furnished-- one of the better quality rentals we have stayed at. Nice master bedroom and bathroom. All the creature comforts, wifi, kitchen well-stocked. The owner was very prompt with communications. Tucked away in a private neighborhood with the conveniences of Walmart and restaurants nearby. Highly recommend for families and anyone needing a nice place to stay while visiting the sights. Thank you! Read more

Jan 2020Had a great time gathering with family from around the globe in Carlsbad and this property was perfect. Everything was as stated and more. Property was very clean and so many things were made available in the house - especially kitchen for us to celebrate the holidays together. Loved the games too!!! Adrian was always available for questions even during the holidays. Would highly recommend. Noticed in other reviews comments about the neighbourhood.
