Nestled in monticello, this lovely entire house for £99 per night is a great choice for your next break.
This two bedroom one bath unit sits on a small fishing pond with its own private deck. Convenient to shopping and restaurants is the ideal location for a relaxing getaway. Called the Cozy cottage for a reason. Even though it is attached to the office, this unit has many repeat guests who like the view from the porch with a large 6 person hot tub, overlooking the private deck and pond. This is a pet friendly home but does limit the pets to a max of two, or one large dog. The charge is per pet per night.
All our units come completely furnished with all the modern appliances and cooking utensils. If this unit is to small for your needs or is booked please feel free to call anyway, we may have something else for you.
recreation: Our recreation areas offer swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, covered picnic shelter with grills and play area for the little ones.
For a fishing trip you won't forget, try striper fishing. The Fall creek public access are provides boat launch and picnic facilities 2 minutes from the resort. There also is a large full service marina five minutes away as well. Boat rentals, fuel and supplies.
Mill Spring grist-mill-Historic Civil War park & gift shop 6 minutes away.
Monticello groceries and shopping and flea market-10 minutes. Many other attractions and activities within an hours drive, to many to mention. White water rafting, train rides through an old coal mine, Cumberland falls to mention a few. Read more

Steve was very attentive to all our needs, checking on us often, even bringing us cornhole boards to use on the property versus down at the pool area. The house was lovely and perfect for our needs. Apr 2020We had a great time at Golden Pond. We had to change our spring break plans due to the virus, but found this place that had a ton of stuff to do. The screened in patio is great. We had almost every meal out there overlooking the pond. The hot tub was also a nice addition. We had a private fishing area which was great, even though the fish weren’t biting. We caught a couple of bass and a couple of turtles. The playground area and basketball court was a nice addition. Steve went out of his way to make sure the playground equipment was clean for the boys. The road isn’t busy, so the boys were able to ride their bikes. The cabin is attached to the office, but to be honest we didn’t even notice. We would love to stay again in the future! Read more

Jul 2020We enjoyed our weekend trip to lake Cumberland. The cabin was mostly clean and comfortable. We loved the hot tub and fire pit. The cabin was close to most places of interest for us, but still gave us the privacy we were looking for. We did find the coffee pot was dirty and a few pans needed to be wash with left over food on them. The grill was very hard to get lit, but after a lot of effort we got it lit. You’ll need to bring hand soap, dish soap, and dishwasher liquid as the cabin did not have any. Other than those few mishaps it was a great trip and we hope to return in the fall. Read more

Aug 2021This was a great getaway for my family my son and daughter definitely enjoyed the hot tub. Myself and my wife enjoyed fishing in the pond and had seen some post that it didn’t have fish in it but definitely did. We caught several large bluegills some nice bass and a couple monster snapping turtles. I was hoping to get one of the large carp I seen but no luck on one of them. ( only caught a small one ) between 5 people fishing in 2 days. Would be nice to restock. All and all we would recommend. The place was very clean and great water pressure. Feb 2022Some easy suggestions to make this a good experience. For the price we had to pay there was no hand soap, shampoo or conditioner. No coffee pot. We had to go buy one. The heat did not work. We've stayed places where that wasn't the case, and for cord cutters like myself, this was a very nice detail. And then the hot tub.... Not a basic generic hotub at all. Dec 2021My husband and I just wanted to get away for a few days after Thanksgiving. I desperately needed a hot tub and we wanted to do some shopping at flea markets and antique shops for Christmas. This cottage did not disappoint. It is small but the open floor plan made it roomy. Beds were very comfortable with extra blankets and many pillows. The kitchen had everything we needed, except a basting brush for my kabobs, but that's not a deal breaker. It is right on the water of a private small lake with a dock that extends over the water. I wish it was fishing season! There's also a large rock firepit and firewood, but I was more inclined to lounge in the hot tub in the evenings. Oh, yes. I am a hot tub snob, and we rent cabins several times a year. I have to say it was one of the best I've been in. The jets about blow you out of the seat! It also has a cover removal aid, which is a must have. It wasn't heated up until about 9:30pm the first night because they change the water after each guest, pus it was only 23 degrees outside. It was worth the wait! We will definitely return during warmer weather when we can utilize the lake. My only concern is that in summer months there may be more traffic making it much less private, being it's attached to the office. We may look into another unit on the lake. Read more

The only discouraging factor is having check-in at 4pm. Though this would probably not detour me from future bookings, it doesn't seem fair to have to pay full price on a day that's already half over upon check-in. Read more

Jun 20201. Undisclosed fees. In addition to the room rate, pet fee and cleaning fee, I was charged an owners fee, an admin fee and a service fee.
2. After paying half of the non-refundable amount due, Steve Allen sent me a contract that I was required to sign. This should have been disclosed upfront.
3. After having fully paid and being forced to sign a contract, Steve called me and berated me not giving him my name & address. Very odd. He complained that I hadn’t answered my phone the prior day and rudely demanded to know the exact time when I was coming. He told me the door would unlocked and the key would be on the table. He additionally demanded that I give him my credit card number, which again was not disclosed as a requirement.
4. When we arrived, there were no doors unlocked and no indication of where our place was. I had to call Steve. He told me again that the door was unlocked and that I wasn’t checking the right door. After a second call, he showed up and told me someone else had messed up and locked the door.
5. There were no fish in the “fishing pond”
6. The AC didn’t work initially. Steve showed up and replaced the filter that looked as if it had never been changed.
7. Due to a faulty doorknob my daughter got locked in a bedroom. Steve showed up and had to replace the doorknob.
8. There were instructions to wash all dishes before leaving and to NOT strip the beds. This implies that the dishes are cleaned by whoever stated prior and they don’t wash the bedding between stays.
9. Steve creeped on us everywhere. When we went to the pool, Steve popped up. Same for the basketball court, the park area, walking out back by the pond. Felt like Steve was always watching us. My wife and daughter in particular felt very uncomfortable. Read more
