Remodeled kitchen 2019. Gourmet appliances, large island, sheets and bath towels are provided! Just bring your beach towels. Four beach chairs and beach cart are provided. No Dogs. No Cats. No animals of any kind allowed. No Smoking in the house. Parking for 4 cars. Ocean view and breeze.
NEW A/C for 2021! Now we have "mini-split" air conditioning through-out the house.
Linen will be delivered to the front door by 5:00 PM on your scheduled arrival date and picked up after 10:00 AM on your scheduled departure date. Upon your departure, please be sure to place all linens into the laundry bag provided and place it outside the front door for pick up.

Jul 2020What a great house! Plenty of room for our family and friends (7 total). Communication with Doreen and Peter was great and they replied quickly to answer our questions. The house was very clean and comfortable. Really appreciated the very well stocked large kitchen and the washer/dryer. Wifi and TV worked perfectly. The house is a short walk to Moody beach and situated on a nice quiet street, just off of the busier Ocean Ave. Would highly recommend! Read more

Jul 2019We stayed in the home with a large extended family, including children with age range of 5mos-6y. Perfect location on a quiet street, we felt very comfortable leaving the kids play outside without being right next to them, all neighbors seem to do the same. The walk to the beach is short and flat. Easy drive or bike ride to many restaurants. The house was nice, stocked well in the kitchen with all basic essentials for cookware. Our only recommendations would be to add a simple spice rack and some basics like oil, salt, pepper, etc. the cleanliness of the home was satisfactory, but could’ve used a bettwr cleaning prior to our arrival as there were some cobwebs and dust in the usual places. The owners are responsive and polite. Overall, the home was very accommodating and we had a great stay. We would definitely return! Read more

Jul 2021We had a wonderful time in Wells. The house was in great proximity to the beach, a very easy walk down the street. We loved the area and very much enjoyed all Wells and Ogunquit had to offer. For the accommodations, the house was spacious and had many useful amenities. Most of the beds were very comfortable. The laundry service was great and provided all the linens we needed. Our two suggestions for improving the property and experience would be to improve the cleanliness of the property for our arrival and better beach equipment (more chairs, and a working cart). Overall, we had a wonderful experience and enjoyed our stay. Communication with the owners was exceptional which we very much appreciated. We would recommend staying here. Read more

Aug 2020We had a wonderful time at Peter and Doreen’s house at Moody Beach. The location is perfect, it’s a quick 5 minute walk to Moody Beach in a family-friendly quiet neighborhood. Any questions or minor issues we had, Peter & Doreen were quick to respond and extremely accommodating. The house itself is great! It has a great set up and an amazing kitchen that was probably better stocked than my kitchen at home! My favorite part was the ocean view from the kitchen and deck. They also have a great fire pit in the backyard. In terms of the beach, even though Moody Beach is private and the ocean front homeowners own the beach property from the high tide mark up to the sea wall, we never had any issues with sitting on the beach and found most homeowners friendly and accommodating. Aug 2016We had a most wonderful stay in this house that fully met our expectations. We particularly enjoyed the fully equipped and spacious kitchen that made meal preparation a pleasurable experience. Of course, we apppreciated the peaceful neighbourhood and closeness to the public beach access. We do hope to be back next year.
I should mention that during our stay, i had to call Doreen to bring to her attention the fact that our barbecue tank was empty. One hour later, she had sent someone to take care of the problem.

Jul 2019we enjoyed a wonderful week on the beach with our adult children and parents. the house is perfect for foodies, with all the tools and kitchenware for entertaining. big, comfortable rooms in a very clean home with a short walk to the beach. having the cart and beach chairs was a huge plus as was the outdoor grill. the bedrooms are set up for privacy when you need to break away for a few minutes. we had no issues with the stairs, but for those with orthopedic issues it might be a challenge.
our host and hostess were very nice to check in via email during our stay to make sure all was well.
some beachfront property owners are more sensitive than others with guests being in front of the seawall, but if you are polite and quiet you generally don't have a problem with beach access when the tide comes in.
we would definitely book the property again.

Aug 2020Very easy reservation process, property manager very responsive. Kitchen is VERY well stocked. The beach is five minutes away, we did not have any problems with being on the beach. The fire pit in the back was a lovely place to have s’mores and relax. First floor has laundry, 2 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms (king, 2 twin, queen); second floor is kitchen, living room, half bath, bedroom with twin trundle, and sitting room; third floor is bedroom with king and bunk beds. Aug 2021This property was beautiful and the host was very friendly and responded to my questions promptly. The house was well-equipped and everything was as promised in the listing except access to the beach. When we received the information for the rental, the agreement said we had access to Moody Beach, specifically 25 feet from the owners of the waterfront property. When we got to the beach, the owners of the waterfront property yelled at us and said that they owned to the water and that we were only allowed on the section where the public access walk was (approx 15 ft wide, shared by anyone not renting on the beach). Luckily, a nice family who was renting one of those waterfront homes allowed us to be on their section of the beach, but otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy the beach experience. I feel this should have been clear about this property in the listing before we booked it. We have come to Moody Beach for years and this has never been a problem. People need to know that if they are spending this kind of money on a rental that promises access to the beach, that they actually have access and won't be harassed once they get there. Read more

Jun 2020This house was perfect for our extended family! We enjoyed walking to the beach multiple times a day, listening to the ocean in the evening from the kitchen table and relaxing in the large and comfortable family room. There was ample space for everyone to find a place to spend some alone time if desired.
The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed and having a Keurig was an added bonus! It was a breeze preparing dinner for the entire family in the well-planned out kitchen. The small sitting room off of the kitchen was a nice surprise. It is not shown in the photos, but it was a great place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee while reading the paper or your favorite book.
The bedrooms were nice and the beds offered a good night's sleep. With seven adults and two young children (3 years and 11 months) we had extra beds. When we experienced a hot and humid June day, Peter came over that evening to install an A/C in the master bedroom. He was quick to answer emails and responsive to our needs. We would highly recommend renting from this owner.
We had such an enjoyable vacation in the lovely, spacious and comfortable home, that we have already booked our 2021 vacation! We hope that this will be the place where our family can spend many, many years enjoying our beach vacations!

Aug 2016 Overall we were happy, there is one thing though , you forgot to mention that the beach was a private beach ( Moody Beach), and people owning houses directly on the beach told us that we were not allowed on this beach. So when you say that it is a five minutes walk to the beach it s not accurate, we have to take the car and go to the public beach toward Ogunquit. Parking is between 25.00 and 30.00$ /day.

The linen service was a nice feature and the house comes as advertised. Less than a 5 minute walk to the public access point and nice quiet neighborhood. The only 2 minor critiques would be no live cable, only could use streaming services so unable to watch sports. Second, both full bathrooms are on the lowest level (one in the master bedroom) so showering took some planning. Overall, great time and would recommend to others. Read more

Sep 2019In Moody beach, at 6 minutes location from pathway 2 , the location was ideal with children. The house is well equipped and the 5 bedrooms were great for a 3 family live-in and 2 grand-children of 1 and 3 of age. Front parking provided a lot of space. The kitchen, while on the second floor, has great cooking equipment and all the tools; the access to a 5 people balcony and gas BBQ is also very convenient. There was enough room for all of us and then some and even more than enough room for the kids to explore. Jul 2019Doreen and Peter's Wells home was a great home base for my family's summer vacation. There were up to 9 of us for a few nights (7 adults, 1 teen and 1 child). There were plenty of rooms and living space and never felt cramped. There was always a quiet room you could find if needed. Kitchen was more than adequately stocked with utensils/dishes/appliances one would expect, and then some. (Since the last review - salt, pepper, and cooling oil - have been added to the panty)
Peter and Doreen checked in on our group via email a couple times to assure things were running smoothly and responded to email inquiries within a few hours.
