Port Aransas offers a unique combination of vacation assets; one of the top 3 beaches on the Texas coast with special appeal for surfing and boogie boarding, one of the finest salt-water fishing destinations in America, and Gulf golf is as good as you will find anywhere. When you are not enjoying those diversions, head off to one of the many fine restaurants in town, or drive 15 miles to spend an exciting day at the spectacular Schlitterbahn Water Park!
Village Walk is a picturesque, night-gated development, with new, sparkling clean homes and 2 pools. Meet nice neighbors along the landscaped path just outside your screened porch and front yard. It is right off 11th Street, close to shops, eateries, services and the offices of Silver Sands Property Management where your needs can be promptly handled. Renters have a 2014 E-Z-GO 6 passenger golf cart for their stay. Essential to full enjoyment of Port Aransas, a 6 person street-legal cart would cost you up to $180 a day to rent elsewhere. The handsome cart has 100 watt MP3 stereo and the split windshield lets in the breezes (won?t your dog LOVE that!). Gas power means you won?t be stranded in the sand by a run-down battery.
Basket Case is a Key-West style coastal beauty that sleeps 10 in beds and 4 in hide-a-beds. 1 or 2 adult, house-trained dogs are welcome. The great room and master bedroom are wheelchair accessible. It is a few hundred yards from the beach with the salt-water sound and scent you love, but access rules mean you will tootle the golf cart 5 or 6 blocks to the sand. Since you?ll want the cart anyway to carry food, drinks, beach supplies and surf board, who?s complaining? Your home is a 4-bedroom, 3.5 bath 2-story house with 2 family rooms and kitchens and is beautifully decorated with high-end coastal flair.
There is a charcoal grill for grilling your fresh catch?or fry them in the well-stocked kitchen/great room which seats 14. The kitchen has an open floor plan with breakfast bar between it and the living and dining spaces. The master bedroom & in-suite bathroom are off the great room; a half bath is off the kitchen with stacked washer & dryer. The living area features a big screen cable TV with lots of channels. It has internet Wi-Fi. There are other TVs in master bedroom, large upstairs bedroom and the guest apartment living area which also has Cable TV.
Upstairs, the 2nd master bedroom sleeps 5 on queen and twin trundle beds with an extra baby bed. Sharing the Jack &Jill bathroom is a 3rd bedroom with a twin trundle. Through this bedroom is a separable one-bedroom guest apartment with outside entrance. This wing sleeps 5 with queen bed, a twin bed in bedroom 4, and queen size sleeper in the living area. Furnished with a kitchenette, a dining or game table, a TV and another full bath, there are also 2 small balconies outside with overviews of Village Walk. The guest apartment can be locked from the main house if some in your party want to have privacy.
*Free 6 Passenger Golf Cart with short term rentals only. Additional $100 per week for long term rentals (14 days or more).
There are 4 designated parking spots, Occupancy 14. The property manager will provide Parking Passes upon your arrival. No Boats or Trailers all allowed.

There are a few minor inconveniences at the place, like the door is really loud and you can hear everything happening upstairs (foot steps, door opening/closing) in the first floor bedroom, but the beds were all comfortable and you can't beat the location. May 2022We liked the home, however as far as handicap accessibility, it was not wheelchair accessible at all. The entry onto the home was a very narrow half sidewalk and then it continued as rocks. Getting a family member that is in a wheelchair into the home was extremely difficult. The master bathroom door was too narrow for the wheelchair as well. So I would not classify this home as accessible like it has been. It was nice to have access to the garage, but it was disgusting. Needs to be cleaned up, junk thrown away. Nov 2021We had a great time. The house was warmly decorated and was totally prepared for our stay. It was in a great location. Close enough to the pool but not noisy. The homes in this gated community were cute and well situated. The golf cart was a real bonus. FYI there is no grass anywhere if your pup is finicky about potty location. The walk to the front door uses stepping stones that made it difficult to get rolling luggage and cooler in the house. The contactless check in and out worked smoothly. Mar 2022This house was amazing to us. Spring vacation for the kiddos before they go back to school, family of 11 and everyone had their own space. Large house and super convenient to all the great spots. Heated Pool was 2 house down (which made it easy for the kids to enjoy they warm water). Supplied with everything we needed. Clean, security on watch, loved that we had a garage to store the vehicles that had the tops off, and super adorable home. Cozy and welcoming. Apr 2022THE ROACHES RUNNING ON THE COUNTER AND IN THE KITCHEN DRAWERS ALL OVER THE THE FORKS AND SPOONS WAS DISGUSTING. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ROACHES AND I WAS TOLD WE WILL SEND SOMEONE TO SRRAY. I HAD ALLREADY WENT TO THE STORE AND BOUGHT SPRAY. ME AND MY WIFE SPRAYED ROACHES ALL WEEKEND LONG. IT WAS DISGUSTING. WE DID NOT COOK OR MAKE COFFEE OR ANYTHING IN THE KITCHEN. IT RUINED OUR EASTER WEEKEND. SILVER SANDS COULD NOT HAVE CARED LESS. NOTHING BUT A WASTE OF MONEY. Our group was 5 moms and 5 sons (16 yr old). We came to Port A with other moms and sons who rented 2 other houses. We absolutely loved Basket Case. It was perfect because we could put the boys in the guest apartment part of the house. We liked that they could access the apartment from the outside. Loved the little screened in porch that we would sit at in the morning and at night. Plenty of room. Silver Sands was great (slight issue with unlocking the garage door, but they helped us immediately). Only down side was that I thought the house came with a golf cart - when I booked, it said there was one, in my confirmation there wasn't, so we ended up renting one. Getting to the beach was about a 3-5 minute cart ride. Also, due to Covid we were told that our check in was pushed out 1 hour because of extra cleaning, I think the cleaning crew could have done a better job with cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms (especially since they were asking for extra time to do so) - it wasn't that bad and didn't change how much we liked the house/experience. I noted this with Silver Sands. I would definitely rent this house again. Read more

We spent a long weekend with some friends in this home. The layout is a bit strange, but accommodated 11 of us just fine. Biggest issue we had was the owner's golf cart not working at all during our stay. Silver Sands provided us with their usual excellent service, and brought us a replacement as well as refunded us for losing out on using it the first day. GREAT SERVICE! It was a good place to stay, however, the pictures are misleading. The golf cart is missing the front bumper with the cooler and rod holders, which is one of the reasons I chose this property, so we could surf fish at night. The screened in porch is missing all of the screens, which makes it almost unbearable to sit outside with the multitude of mosquitoes. My other small complaint is that the pictures didn't accurately represent what the house was equipped with/without. The Keurig's shown in the pictures are not there, so if you bring K-cups from home like we did, they won't do you a bit of good. Read more

The queen sleeper that pulled out of the TV stand in the garage apartment was novel and super comfy! The pool was just a couple doors down and the beach a 5 min golf cart ride away. This location would not work well for multiple small groups coming to vacation together as the parking in the complex is extremely limited (you can fit 2 in the garage and 2 in the driveway and beyond that there was no additional parking). Having stayed here in summer 2019 for my son’s 3rd birthday, we decided to spend a month after thanksgiving working and living at dog-friendly Basket Case in Village Walk. I adore this beach house. As an avid baker, the kitchen here is glorious, all we had to bring was our kettle and mixer. (Shipt delivers HEB groceries to the address which was an added COVID bonus.) The beds are comfortable. The screened- in porch is so zen. And there is a heated pool year round in the community which feels amazing whether it’s 50 or 70 outside :) We had friends quarantine and visit each weekend and it was nice to reconnect. Absolutely LOVED Basket Case! The apartment upstairs was perfect for teenagers. They had the whole upstairs to themselves and it included a kitchen. My husband and I stayed in the bedroom downstairs. The heated pools were a nice surprise and served as a socialization place with neighbors. We have stayed in Village walk a number of times and always appreciate how nicely it is kept. The only drawback was the washer dryer combo, which was very small and required patience to use, often requiring 3 cycles to dry a load of towels, etc. since we were there for a longer stay, we needed to wash our things. He screen porch was lovely. All the rooms had comfortable furniture. The kitchens both up and down were adequate for basic meal prep. We had nice stay at Basketcase! Rental was clean and mostly well stocked. Kitchen was unorganized and hard to find essential items, never did find a baking pan, like a 9x13 or similar. My major complaint was the bedroom set up. Two of the four bedrooms are walk throughs. This was quite awkward for our party. When it lists a bedroom, I assume there is a private entrance for each room, but this was not the case in this house. They should list it as such. Disappointing stay. Check in delayed for “extra cleaning” didn’t seem to help. I **** roach greeted me as I opened the door. I quickly killed it and swept it under the rug in an attempt to not ruin the first impression for the rest of my family. House smelled like smoke, outdoor area ground covered with cigarette ashes. The final straw was that the downstairs bedsheets where dirty . Hair and stains in multiple areas. Property manager was responsive and apologetic. we checked out early. We did not know until the next day that the maintenance man came, that the one of the 2 AC units was clogger up which is why we it was so hot our 1st night there. But other than that, once that was fixed it was all good. May 2021Negatives: Upon arrival, there were numerous broken items...enough to warrant the need to document and report. The window next to the front door was broken, held together with packing tape. Numerous blinds throughout the home had broken slats. The DVD player was broken so our planned movie nights were out of the question. Thunderstorms one night led to heavy leaks coming down the kitchen ceiling...we franticly placed pots and pans to catch the water. Also discovered a puddle of rain water leaking into the floor of the downstairs master bedroom (far right corner). Discovered a few live roaches. Reported to management but got no response, except maintenance did show with a container to catch the rain water. Positives: The home was spacious and beautifully decorated with comfortable bedding, linens and towels. Easy check-in and check-out process. The golf cart was fun and in good condition. Great AC and ceiling fans throughout the home. Cable TV worked great (except during thunderstorms). Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. Gated community was clean and safe.
