Experience real Bahamian living in the quiet and safe subdivision of Colony Village Estate. Just off the main artery of the eastern end of the island, Prince Charles Drive, you are within a very short walking distance of a shopping plaza where you will find, conveniently, a large supermarket, Domino’s pizza, Wendy’s, a pharmacy, doctor’s office amongst others. Three minutes in the opposite direction is the post office, the police station, a government medical clinic and a number of churches. At Gilly’s Dream you are less than five minutes away by car from the nearest beach. Frequent buses into the downtown area and Paradise Island (Atlantis) are caught from bus stops only three minutes away. The Mall at Marathon is three and one half miles away right along the Prince Charles Drive corridor. Gilly’s Dream is where you want to spend a real Bahamian vacation away from the hustle and bustle of a resort.
Gilly’s Dream offers you comfortable sleeping for up to eight adults (in beds) with an additional 4 single folding cots. Our “Grand Room” is outfitted with one king size bed and a double sleeper sofa. “Gilly’s” is outfitted with a king size bed and “GrandMa’s” has a double bed setting. Each of these three lovely and well spaced apart rooms has its private bath, flat screen television, telephone and ductless air-condition. The general areas are central air-conditioned. Dec 2021We originally booked our accommodation at Gillys Dream for five nights. When we missed our flights and our stay had to ne shortened to 2 nights Darville was understanding and gave us a refund. He was accommodating over the number of people staying in the house and the number of children we had. We loved our stay in this house. It is nicely decorated and child friendly. It was particularly nice that there are bathrooms attached to every room. Many thanks to Darville for all the information he shared regarding getting to and from the airport, car rentals and places to see. It helped our stay go very smoothly. Read more

Oct 2016Our group of 8 stayed are Gilly's Dream for one night on our way to Paradise Island. We ended up coming in a day early due to a flight change by the airline and Darville was kind enough to accommodate our group for the one night stay. That, in of itself, was so helpful to our group! The property was just as described, clean as a whistle and well maintained. The owner (Darville) was just wonderful! He provided excellent communication up front and even arranged for our airport transportation so we had one less thing to worry about on our arrival to Nassau. We arrived late in the evening and Darville was so kind to take a couple of our group members to pick up some take out dinner and bring it back to the property! We couldn't have asked for better customer service! Everyone in our party was very satisfied and we all give the property and owner an A++! Read more

Jul 2019Our dive club stayed at Gilly's Dream after our Blackbeard's dive liveaboard. Darville (homeowner) was an amazing host and arranged transportation for us much cheaper than we found ourselves. The home was clean, neat, and comfortable for our dive club (there were 11 of us who stayed). Walking distance to grocery center and center with Dairy Queen! 15-minute taxi from Nassau Harbor Club. May 2018On our recent trip to the Bahamas our group stayed at Colony Estates. The owners met us and were such pleasant people. A tour of the property was the first order of business before our group of 11 settled in. The residence offers 3 bedrooms with 3.5 baths. The residence is spacious and comfortably appointed, one sofa bed and several air mattresses to accommodate large groups.
A shopping center is just a few blocks away if your group chooses to dine out or prepare meals on site. Great value and a hidden gem in Nassau. Read more

Darville et sa fille sont même venu nous chercher à l’aéroport avec une magnifique affiche souvenir au nom de notre famille :-)
De plus, nous avons eu droit à un tour guidé de la ville. Darville nous a gentillement escorté à l’épicerie puis ensuite le lendemain à la marina. Le tout gratuitement. Darville et sa famille sont extrêmement accueillants, chaleureux et très disponibles. L’appartement est très propre et largement assez grande pour une grande famille. Dec 2016I just have to say we all ( my party of 11) felt like we were visiting family. The hosts went above and beyond. They were awesome, absolutely the most helpful. They picked us up from the airport and as we drove to the home they gave us a tour of the history and culture of the island. Gia took me for fresh baked bread and chix patties. Darville was able to have a vehicle that could transport us to a few places. First the home looks small, but it is not a small home at all. There were three bedrooms and each had a bathroom. There is also a half bath. This is a great place to stay, clean and comfortable. The host family are very friendly. I would suggest renting a vehicle because most everything is 20 to 25 minutes away with out traffic and it's expensive for taxis. This place...home is a gem and quite affordable. Do not pass it by.

The apartment is very large extremely clean with lots privacy for a large group.

Apr 2018Darville and his wife are fantastic people, which I think goes a long ways in being confident that you are in good hands at this house! Had a group of 12 and there was plenty of room, house cooled down quickly with a/c, wifi was great, and there is pretty much all you need to feel right at home. Neighborhood is nice, felt totally safe . . . you will need a car for sure, but we were there to explore and experience the island so that was no problem - drive to Nassau is about 20 minutes, and I'd suggest heading east down to the coast and then driving in that way - less traffic and more scenic . . . store and dominos a 10 minute walk away too.
