The pro’s: We actually stayed at the Clarissa 7. The host double-booked us by mistake and gave us complimentary upgrade to another property that was literally a 3 minute walk to the beach. The location was a 10 minute walk from downtown which was nice, we got pizza one of the nights from a local place and we cooked the rest of our meals at the house. There’s a grill and fully equipped kitchen. The host provided the drinking water, which was really thoughtful. The house had a private pool which was amazing, hot water, 4 beds and 4baths. Decor was simple and tasteful, white with wood accents, very peaceful. There was a touch of the Caribbean in the turquoise kitchen cabinets.🤩 The staff were so AWESOME! They were so nice, very communicative and helpful. The wifi router stopped working our second day, but the staff replaced it the next day. We had to check out early because of early flights, so they came and let us check out and pay the electric bill the night before. The pool, the staff, the privacy made the Clarissa7 a wonderful choice. The cons: while the beds were made and the towels rolled into cool shapes… There were coffee grinds on the kitchen counter and trash in the trashcans of the bathrooms. Dishes in the cabinet were dirty, the coffee make and blender looked like they hadn’t been washed in a year. And there was HUGE spider in a kitchen cabinet!🤣 So, because it didn’t feel very clean, we ended up cleaning on our own (which we would have done regardless because of covid). I wish the bedrooms had mosquiteros (mosquito nets). Because, while there were screens on most of the windows, kitchen windows and front door don’t have them, and if you want air in the kitchen while you cook (which you DEFINITELY do in the Caribbean) you have to leave them open. So the house was FULL of mosquitos. The covered porch was great EXCEPT for the plague of mosquitos. So we used 2 bottles of repellant for 5 people in 3 days, put the fans on 5 and were “ok”. The bed we slept in (the upstairs bedroom that had a king sized bed and bunk beds for our kid) was SO uncomfortable! It sagged in the middle and tilted at the headboard. So we slept with our heads at the foot of the bed. Not great, but our family said that their beds were fine. So maybe it was just ours. 🤷🏼‍♀️ All in all, it’s a weigh the pro’s and cons and decide if it’s for you. But we would definitely stay again. We would take mosquito nets for the beds with us, & prepare to do a deep clean b4 use.
