Uniqueness: a quirky place full of history, a guarding goose, objects collected over a couple of centuries and a great host who can cook and produces his own beer.

There was so much to look at in the Chateâu... It felt authentic as if we had gone back in time… Set in a gorgeous garden above Charleroi, with a real goose doorbell. There’s parking & a bike storage space. We were treated so well by the staff.

Hotel was arranged with a lot of love and attention to detail. Unique experience, really.

A bit of renovation in the bathroom would improve overall impression a lot.

feels like your staying at somebody’s home, relaxed, loved the home made dinner and personal approach. Very convenient to be so close to the airport and have a ride and parking space from the chateau.

Wonderfull stay in this beautiful and traditional place. The owner is very helpfull. We defenitly come back in the summer to enjoy the surroundings and location! Thank you so much!

TV didn't work but the biggest problem was an ice cold bathroom and no warm water.

The chateau is a unique and fabulous property, filled to the brim with fascinating artwork, furniture and quirky decorative pieces. Our host was incredibly hospitable, and cooked the most marvellous supper of spaghetti bolognese (for us) and excellent moules frites (for my son): both deliciously hearty dishes and most welcome on the rainy December night that we arrived. All the guests sat down at the same communal table and ate dinner together, which was a lovely sociable occasion - and our host speaks multiple languages so most guests can be confident they’d be able to communicate with him easily! Our family room was spacious and warm, with a very comfortable ornate double bed, and bunk-beds for our children (the London Double-Decker bus styling of the bunkbeds brought a smile to my teenagers’ faces). En-suite bathroom contained a huge bath and shower and there was plenty of hot water, plus twin sinks which is useful for a family room.

My only suggestion is that the en-suite bathroom could use a blind or curtain on the window for privacy.

Nothing really, fruit juice at breakfast would be nice, possibly also yoghurt but that's a personal choice.

The history of the house

this property has character , it is a beautiful 200 year old building and I loved it ! Phillip the host was outstanding , and goes out his way to make you very welcome ! we won’t talk about his own brand beer…. it is to die for !! although the bedrooms may be not to everyone’s taste, I certainly enjoyed the stay and slept well. I think more people should support individuals like this venue rather than lining the pockets of chains

Excellent landlord and excellent ubication. We arrived late for just one night and Philip welcomed us very friendly. Amazing house, good dinner and after 8 hours car right I was happy to sit in a big chair in the cozy entrence hall with a good red wine. The kids had fun in the "Queensroom" in the funny London-Bus-Bed :-) we slept all very well in the big comfortable bed. All very authentic. THANK YOU PHILIP FOR THE VERY GOOD STAY.
