About this house rental
Situated in West Beach, this charming house for R 39,235 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. The Veranda cancellation policy: -Cancel with refund up to 180 days before arrival date with possible exception of Vrbo fee and administrative fee. Vrbo does not offer a 180 day cancellation option to property owners. If you opt to cancel up to 180 days prior to check in, contact me first, and I will refund the amount you have paid to Vrbo. -Balance is due 90 days before arrival date. -$89 damage insurance fee due at booking. $500 wedding fee. No college spring break rentals. The Veranda is a large, beautifully designed and decorated, upscale home created with weddings, family gatherings, retreats, and other larger groups in mind. It is in the most private area of Gulf Shores (with no condos within miles). The spacious, 100 foot gulf front lot was chosen for its uncrowded location and panoramic view of the turquoise Gulf. Thanks to the design team, including a nationally renowned architect, it is a beautiful house, inside and out, with a local flavor: shaded veranda on the street side, 'haint' blue porch ceiling, oak flooring, Alabama marble in the powder rooms, and regional artwork. The casually elegant design blends with the beach: natural hues, accents of blues and greens, and comfortable sofas and chairs inside and on the decks. A gorgeous dune walkover solidifies the connection of the house to the beach. On the ground (parking) level, a large open area is under the house on the south side. Event lighting, electricity, and stereo speakers that are provided for this level allow for open parties and receptions with or without live music. Stairs from this area ascend to the main deck on the gulf side with it's swimming pool and outdoor kitchen. Or take the elevator up. On the main level, there is an open floor plan for flow and seating according to the needs of the guests. Large flat screen TV with surround sound, DVD/BluRay player, and Apple TV convert the living room to a media room for families, slide shows for receptions, and power point presentations for meeting groups. The kitchen, dining area, and a buffet/hutch work together to provide meals for large groups efficiently. Hobbyist chefs will love the Wolf 8 burner gas range, 2 1/2 ovens, infinite refrigerator space, and freestanding commercial ice machine around the corner - along with the beach view even from the kitchen. One rectangular table for 10, two round tables for 5 or 6 each, and bar style seating for 5 or 6 allow 26 + to eat without even leaving the dining area. Three dishwashers, a large trash can, and two sinks simplify cleanup even for large groups. Three large French doors open onto the largely covered main deck and it's incredible beach view, the dune walkover, the outdoor kitchen with luxury 48' gas grill, and the heated swimming pool with multiple light options for your event. When not listening to the waves, ceiling speakers allow music while enjoying the pool, a cocktail party/reception, sunbathing, or reading a book. There are two handicap friendly bedroom/bathrooms on the main level, including wide doorways, roll-in showers, grab bars, compliant toilets, roll under sinks, and 5+ foot bathroom turnaround. These beautiful rooms and baths will be enjoyed by all, the southmost of these being right off the main deck with a gorgeous view of the deck and beach from the bed. For guests with handicap needs, please call to discuss all aspects of accessibility and needs related to the house. All 10 of the bedrooms in the house have luxurious beds, a closet, a mirror, private baths, flat screen TVs, ceiling fans, reading lights at both sides of each bed, outlets for electronic devices at the bedside, and best of all: water views - the Gulf to the south, the Lagoon to the north, or a view of both! The second floor has 5 of the bedrooms, two of these directly gulf front with the 2nd floor living/media room also on the south side in the middle. This room has comfortable seating and all the electronic amenities of the main floor living room. So groups can split up to watch different movies or sports or different power point presentations. Beautiful views of the beach are seen again, and a French door leads to a covered seating area. As on the main deck, this deck also extends the full width of the house, the sides to the extreme east and west being sun decks. These living rooms and decks can accommodate a sizable reception/party and we can provide temporary furniture storage if open floor space is desired. A queen sized sleeper sofa is in the 2nd floor living room. The third floor (for some) will function as the bride/groom floor. A cozy living room, wet bar, shower for two, jacuzzi tub, walk in closet, and two king beds are on this floor. The bed chambers open onto the top gulf side deck and the elevated views up and down the coast are spectacular.

Beautiful, spacious, steps from clean beach. Stocked with beautiful dishes and every kind of pot and griddle you could ever need. Downside 1 dishtowel and 1 sponge, 1 roll of paper towels, and no trash liners salt pepper or keurig pods!

We had our 3 families here with each of our 4 adult families and 8 grand childrens. Location was great since they all live in different parts of the country. All rooms came with complete bathroom and showers. No complaints !

Overall everything was excellent. Plenty of storage for refrigerated items and dry goods. Loved the ice makers on every floor. Wide open kitchen fully stocked with pots, pans, silverware, etc. Also plenty of storage for dry goods. Plenty of space considering there were 12 in our group. One small comment: The grills were not clean and there were a few knobs missing from the cabinets.

The house was absolutely beautiful, and the beach was very private. We had our wedding here, and had family of roughly 30 people stay here. Everyone was so complimentary and enjoyed their stay. Couldn’t have picked a better place to have our wedding!

This home is everything we could have possibly wished for you. We stayed here with family for our daughter’s wedding and from the moment we stepped through the door it was a dream come true. The beach is pristine, the house so well equipped. (3 refrigerators, 2 ovens, and 3 dishwashers sure came in handy) Everyone slept so comfortably, and my only regret is we couldn’t stay longer! Kelly is such a sweetheart and always available to answer any questions. Thank you for the most beautiful, fun, wonderful wedding venue!

Best vacation ever! I was initially apprehensive about 6 families (12 adults 18 kids from 1-16) all staying under 1 roof. The house was so large, well laid out and well appointed that it made the experience perfect! Full bathrooms and large bedrooms made everyone comfortable with their own space. The location on the beach was perfect! Very secluded! We ate every dinner at the house. The huge kitchen with 3 dishwashers made cooking and cleanup a breeze. My favorite feature and the real mvp of the stay was the commercial ice maker. It handled the ice needs of our large group all week.
Kelly, the property manager was fantastic to work with every step of the way.
We will definitely be booking again!

There are not enough words to describe The Veranda! We were a party of 16 adults 5 small children. Bedroom locations gave everyone privacy (and are insulated very well) with a range of mattress sizes and firmness, something for everyone! Bedrooms are NOT small, all have plenty of space! Every bedroom has its own very nice bathroom. Absolutely nothing was missing in the kitchen, if we needed or wanted it the Veranda had it and then some! Ease of getting to & from our private beach was a BIG plus with the small kids! We have rented lots of great VRBO houses and none of them come close to The Veranda and Wakefield Property management team!! Thank you George, Kelly and team for a vacation we will never forget!!

The Veranda is an amazing house. We held our family celebration for my Dad’s 90th birthday. We had an amazing time, there is plenty of room for activities, sleeping, games and We had fun on the beach and in the pool. Kelly and George are wonderful hosts and the communication with them was so easy and very prompt. This property is well worth it!

The amenities are overwhelming, but so much appreciated! We had some cooler weather and rain, so the pool couldn't keep up with the heater. There were only 14 of us, but we were all able to have the rooms we wanted for privacy. Location is wonderful! Walk down your walkway and you are on the beach!

The home was perfect for our family and friends getaway. There were 22 guests and everyone was pleased with their accommodations. Besides all the expected amenities we were pleasantly surprised by the commercial ice maker and whole house stereo system. We could play music on all levels, the outside decks and the below the house parking area where we held a couple late night corn hole tournaments. The views are breathtaking from every window! The property manager was always responsive and helpful. We want to come back every year.

We have been coming to the panhandle are for over 15 years as a group. This is by far the best house we have ever rented. The management is great and even kept us informed of a tornado warning and where to go in the house. The kitchen was well stocked with all the dishes, pots, pans, etc that we could need. 3 refrigerators and dishwashers were great. Would definitely rent this again!

The property location and size was perfect. Many mainstream issues need to be addressed. slow drains, leak in faucets, mold in 4th floor closet. All beds need to be replaced. Bedroom

This property was used by 18 adults for a week-long business retreat with employees and our vendors. It worked so well for all of us. It is a beautiful, well-furnished home. We cooked breakfast daily during our stay and the kitchen was a chef's dream stocked with every possible dish or appliance you would ever need. We used the open kitchen/dining/living room for informal meetings and presentations. Our downtime was enjoyed exploring the area and the property. We highly recommend.

I honestly can't say enough about this beautiful property. We rented The Veranda for my wedding weekend and it was an absolute dream. The house was perfect, plenty of room for our bridal party and guests (we had 26 total stay in the home). The house is designed so wonderfully, you truly feel like you have your own space even when you are sharing the house with 26+ people! Each bedroom has it's own bathroom which is huge plus!The bride and groom suites on the top floor were a fantastic bonus. This house is setup perfectly for a wedding, from the separate floors for privacy/ wedding day prep, to the gourmet kitchen, to the reception area underneath the house - everything was beautiful and so efficient for our wedding,Kelly and George are amazing to work with! Fast responses and put this bride's mind at ease so many times - they truly go the extra mile. If you are on the fence - I'm here to tell you - GO FOR IT! I couldn't have asked for more.

The house was great for our needs; three families under one roof.The beach access was so wonderful and since our stay had stormy weather, we were so happy to have the heated pool. We did have problems with the internet reception and televisions not working at all or "freezing up"; not being able to change channels, turn the volume down/up, or turn them off! However, those items were not necessary for us to have a truly enjoyable time while on vacation.One item we needed, and thought one would be at the house, was a clothing iron. The ironing board was easily found, but not an iron. We did have a great time and hope to stay at The Veranda again if we return to Gulf Shores.
