About this house rental
Situated in Tisbury, this attractive house for R 4,720 per night is a great option for your next break. Tucked in a quiet neighborhood and within walking distance to town and beaches, this quaint cottage was moved to East Chop from the campgrounds at the turn of the century and then expanded. Enjoy walks along the beach road less than 100 yards from the home and walk up to the East Chop Lighthouse. This simple yet charming and well-equipped bungalow has been in the same family for many years and is a lovely place for a vacation. Come relax on the covered wrap-around front porch and enjoy Vineyard summers the way many generations have! In case the ocean breezes do not keep things cool enough, four AC units have been installed throughout the house. This 4 Bedroom home includes 1 Full Bath but also includes an additional 1/2 bath in the garage and a new outdoor shower. Full Dining room, Living room, Kitchen and Den fill out the house.

We enjoyed our stay and the hosts made everything easy. Communication was great, the home was clean and ready for us, nice neighborhood with friendly neighbors, and a nice 20 minute stroll to the center of town on Circuit Ave. We'd stay here again :)

This home met the needs of our girl’s trip. Plenty of room for all six of us to spread out on the porch, TV room, living room and then all come together in the spacious diningroom for our meals. We loved the proximity to the East Chop Lighthouse and the beach and shopping area was a short taxi ride away. I highly recommend this location.

This house was perfect for our vacation week. We had several rainy days, but we didn't mind, since there was room to spread out - including two living rooms, a spacious porch, and a big dining room table that worked great for a puzzle. It was also well-equipped, with everything we needed in the kitchen (even a salad spinner).
The weather was hot and humid when we were there, but the owners had strategically placed four AC units, so the house was cool when we arrived and throughout our stay.
The owners were easy to work with.
We enjoyed the historic art, books, and atmosphere. This is a well-loved, well-maintained family property.

With two living rooms, a huge dining room, a breezy wrap-around porch, and plenty of yard space, this home is ideal for groups that want to vacation together but may also enjoy some solitude. Other positives: good vibes of family-friendly and ancestry, VERY clean, best equipped kitchen ever, clean new (?) gas grill, big outdoor shower, excellent selection of books and videos, only a 4-minute drive to Oak Bluffs and a 7-minute drive to Vineyard Haven, wicked easy walking distance to East Chop Drive past the East Chop Lighthouse, and most importantly, easily reached and accommodating owners (who live next door but you'd never know it as they allowed us our privacy.) We were there in June so we never needed AC, but with a phone call, units would have been put in. The detached garage has full washer and dryer, lots of space for fishing equipment, beach chairs and bicycles. For those who prefer extreme privacy, the garage bathroom was a hit! We come to Martha's Vineyard every summer and have been on the hunt for the perfect "forever rental", and this is it. Thank you Leanne and Ray for sharing your wonderful home with us. We look forward to making many future memories!

Campground Cottage - only better!

Classic Oak Bluffs Summer Cottage
The pictures don't do it justice, nor do they capture the feel or the charm of this house. Having spent many summers at my grandmother's home in Oak Bluffs, walking into the cottage immediately brought me back to my childhood. This is classic turn of the century Cottage City summer cottage. From the beadboard to the paint colors, the antiques and the family photographs and artifacts, this place has tons of character. Apparently the house has been in the owner's family since the 1800's and they keep it in impeccable shape. We loved the dining room which is light and airy. There is a den and a living room. The way the house is laid out you can really "get away" from family members by going into another room or better yet, the porch that is on 2 sides of the house. The porch is especially great for quiet mornings. The only thing better is that you're on East Chop and you can take the stunning walk along the bluffs into town and either come back the same way or get lost on the dirt roads that wind through the highlands and back to the house. I took the 2 minute walk to the beach several times a day to jump in the ocean. Water shoes make it easy as it is rocky. If you're looking for something posh, fancy and a new, modern construction it might not be for you. If you've spent any summer time on the Island or if you're looking for the real Vineyard summer cottage experience, this is it. I feel like we got lucky with this one. The whole family loved it as did my year round Island family members who came to visit. It's clean and has a great vibe and feng shui. It's a great place to take a relaxing summer vacation and create family memories. Extra points for the extra bathroom in the garage.

We only stayed for a weekend but loved everything about this home. The location is great. Quiet neighborhood with a big yard. Owners were right next door and very responsive and friendly. The home is older with a lot of character. Clean and plenty of room for us and our 3 children ages 21, 19 and 15. Loved the big deck for morning coffee and a quiet place to relax.

So quaint and full of history.
Loved the location. We went probably the busiest time all year and the Island was packed but we could go back to our little house and listen to that awesome hawk and relax. Perfect walk back and forth to the lighthouse every morning. Thank you Landlords!

We were on the vineyard for a family event and feel lucky to have found this home. The adjacent small garage is perfect for bikes and the yard is large enough for kids to play in. Thanks again!

We went with our family here. It was the perfect location for 6 people. The house has the most amazing charm and is VERY clean!!! We loved sitting on the porch and having dinner and breakfast at the family table. The owners are super nice!! Would definitely stay again!!

Pleasant home on the Vineyard
This is a lovely cottage for a group of 4 or a family whose needs are accommodated by the available beds (2 singles, a full, a queen). It is located within easy reach of the bustle of Oak Bluffs, but in a calm, quiet neighborhood. It would suit visitors whether they want to roam the town or island, or have a quiet getaway where they can enjoy the porches with a good book, play games in the yard, and have cookouts on the grill. The owners are very nice and anticipated questions and concerns, communicating promptly before and after the trip, and available if needed during our stay. We wanted to explore the Vineyard so did not spend a lot of time at the house, but we would enjoy going for a more leisurely trip in order to take advantage of the setting and the home itself. See the review from Baily M. for more description that matched our experience. There is a full size refrigerator which does not show in the pictures. WiFi is good, if you are unable to do without that. The house is stocked with many books and movies in case of rainy days. We would definitely recommend this for a vacation stay!

Charming home and accommodating owners
This home was perfect for our group of four. The price was reasonable and we were lucky to find it as our other rental had to cancel due to an emergency. The owner was there to greet us upon arrival and was generous enough to allow early check in and late check out. We did a lot of grilling and used the side yard to play wiffle ball. It is a short walk to the beach and about a fifteen minute walk to downtown Oak Bluffs. The home is very old and has a great history with it. It is decorated with things that really tell a story making it feel very authentic. Despite the home's age, the amenities were great, complete with a dishwasher. The outdoor shower was a great way to start the day. The owners were right next door should we have needed anything, but we did not see much of them throughout our stay giving us the privacy we wanted. They were always a quick e-mail away and were very responsive. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking to enjoy Oak Bluffs.
