We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Moon in Corolla. The beach, activities, and shopping are in close proximity to the house. The kitchen is stocked with utensils and cooking items. All appliances worked well and the air conditioning worked well. One upgrade that we would suggest would be to replace the twin mattresses. We saw that a screen was out on the porch and it was fixed within a couple hours of us arriving after notifying the office. A great week at the OBX...as usual!

Nice home in perfect location.. nice neighborhood walking distance to a beautiful beach and across the street from Timbuck 2 shopping center. Landscaping and yard clean up needs to be done around the house. A couple of the screens on the back porch need to be replaced. The pantry door in the kitchen needs to be repaired. The house was not clean when we arrived. This house has everything that you will need in the kitchen. There are bicycles and beach chairs in the garage storage area.

The location of the house was the best part of the house. Everything else was severely lacking. The house looked clean on first look but when you looked more it was very dirty. There was cob webs every where, it didn’t look like it had been dusted in a long time. The carpet on the stairs was disgusting, you walk on it too much the bottom of your feet will get black. There was a table on the back porch that was never cleaned and was stained. We didn’t even end up using it.
We have stayed at beach houses in the past and we would at least get the essentials. Such as salt/pepper, seasonings, oil, paper towels, good quality toilet paper. Not the kind that feels like tissue paper. We paid extra for linens and towels and that was a terrible decision. You got one towel and wash cloth, they didn’t give you any dish towels. The quality of the towels and sheets was severely lacking. You get better quality at a hotel. The bedding needs serious updating, our comforter did not even fit our bed. The bedding had stains on them. The furniture had not been cleaned in quite a while, stains and food crumbs underneath the cushions.
We had a nine month old that crawled on the floors and she found food crumbs and her hands and knees were disgusting.
Over all we were not impressed with this house.

We stay here often. Love the house and location. Floors were recently updated and it looks beautiful. Unfortunately the floors were not clean. Your bottoms feet were black. The master bathroom shower was dirty as well. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent option for ocean lovers!
Lovely neighborhood and very close to the beach allowing several trips there per day. Open living space and decks provide many places to relax and enjoy each other's company.

The location of this house was ideal and the space fit our needs however the house was very dirty. Upon arrival you could smell cleaner but I have no idea what was cleaned. My daughter's feet were black from walking on the floors after only being there for half a day. The fan in the queen bedroom was covered in dust and the bathroom in the hall way did not appear clean as in the toilet had stains (before use) and there were dead bugs all over. There were multiple cobwebs in corners on the house with dead bugs as well. As if the place hadn't been vacuumed in a very long time. We did call the property manager within 24 hours and it took us a few times to get through. They did send another cleaning crew out to clean but due to a language barrier what needed to be done was not fully done.
The dishes had food stuck to them and we needed to clean everything ourselves before first use. That included the coffee pot, main dishware and the skillets.
The decks were a very nice feature of this house and we did use those a lot. But along side the hot tub there were used band aides that were not cleaned up from a previous stay and there were multiple beer cans throughout the yard that were not ours and left from a previous renter. The basketball hoop was also ripped down and left in the yard.
The furniture on the main floor was dirty and stained but the beds did have clean sheets and were at least comfortable to sleep in.
It is a real shame that this house is so neglected because Corolla is a great area and the community it is in is very quiet and nice. The proximity to the beach is amazing. But we will not choose this house again if we come back.

It was average... Rental needs some updating (old arrangements removed )and some additional cleaning. Windows were not clear, there were crickets on the landings, the dryer squeaks when in use, the outdoor furniture needs cleaning and some of it either repaired or discarded .

The house was old and outdated. The carpets were soiled in several areas. The ceiling finishes on the top floor were falling several times and needed to be cleaned. The closet doors were old and inopearable in the bedrooms. The shades were old and dusty. Very poor landscaping. I am very displeased and would not have paid them in full. I don't believe the realitor even checks the place for their visitors. I will not go to them again. Should have gone to Twiddy.

When you pay 3K for a house it should at least be clean, upon check in found hair on almost ever surface from the stove to inside the fridge, house had musky smell that I carried home on all my clothes and luggage. Shower in masterbath was covered in black mold. Bikes that were advertised all had at lease 1 flat tire, grill was so dirty we had to go out and buy one to cook out.

We have stayed at The Blue Moon four times and each time has been a little less clean and hospitable. We love the location and the layout of the house but I am afraid that we will need to look for a different house next year. Most of the screens were ripped, the bedding looks dingy, and the furniture just needs updating. Most disappointing this year was that the outside water had been turned off making it very difficult to clean up our dog after a trip to the beach. I think we feel that the owners are not interested in having a welcoming environment for their renters.

My family very much looked forward to our vacation in OBX, and we did enjoy ourselves but the worst part of the trip was definitely this house. It is very much in need of updates and deep cleaning. The carpet was so nasty we bought cleaners and had to clean it ourselves before we could let the grandbabies play on it. We put sheets on the furniture that was very dated, dirty and stained; the beds were very uncomfortable with stains on mattresses and pillows. We basically had to clean and sanitize the house because it just felt gross and dirty. The beach access for crown pointe is horrendous with so many steep steps, if you have any kind of knee problems or have much stuff to carry you are in for it! This definitely limited my trips to the beach and let's not forget the yard of the house looked like it hadn't been touched in years, all grown up and cluttered looking. The best part about the house was the bathrooms were descent after they were cleaned and the air conditioner was good and cool, other than that I'd give it an overall score of 1.

Location was great and it was definitely large enough for our group. There are lots of stairs and being pet friendly was a plus. There were a ton of beach chairs and a few bikes and beach toys so that was very nice too. The rental didn't state that it had a dishwasher so that was a nice surprise.
My only BIG negative was the Master Bathroom condition. There was a very strong mold smell and visible black mold in between the wood "tiles" on the walls and along the base of the tub. Gross. Rest of the house could have been a little bit cleaner and is showing some age. If I did recommend this to a friend I'd tell them to come with their own bleach and cleansers!
Otherwise we really enjoyed the house.
My only BIG negative was the Master Bathroom condition. There was a very strong mold smell and visible black mold in between the wood "tiles" on the walls and along the base of the tub. Gross. Overall it was a great experience. The only negative was there was mold in the shower in the master bathroom. We can see how the cleaning people missed it because the shower wall has paneling and the mold is hard to see but it was in between the paneling. There was also and issue with the pull out sofa falling apart but it was addressed as soon as we called.

Blue moon for the location was a great but the value for some of the issues was just ok. It was close to beach and in a great community. The home layout was amazing and the upstairs was very nice.
Fortunately for us we did not get a heavy rain until the last night since there was a leak in the roof which caused a drip in the great room upstairs. Although I do not mind spiders some people in our party were very afraid of them which due to the amount we had in the home those people were not very happy. Also late at night you could hear what sounded like rats or mice in the walls. The last issue was the railing to the top deck it was clearly slanted out and not completely stable which made me very nervous when the kids were outside.

My family of four had an enjoyable week in Corolla. The beach in Crown Point was clean and spacious. Blue Moon was fine enough for a week long trip. The house is dated and the bedroom level is dark and narrow - but the upstairs area with the kitchen and wrap around deck were nicer.
Note: Crown Point is located near some kind of sewage treatment facility. The smell is very strong when you enter the community but it is not too noticeable at the house or at the beach.

My family of four had an enjoyable week in Corolla. The beach in Crown Point was clean and spacious. Blue Moon was fine enough for a week long trip. The house is dated and the bedroom level is dark and narrow - but the upstairs area with the kitchen and wrap around deck were nicer. Note: Crown Point is located near some kind of sewage treatment facility. The smell is very strong when you enter the community but it is not too noticeable at the house or at the beach.
