We had a short stay in this cute cottage. The beds were comfortable, however the master shower was a little tight as previous reviewers have stated. Location was a few blocks from the beach and neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed biking to the beach with the bikes that were provided. We were also able to walk to downtown for breakfast and dinners. Phoenix Street Cafe was great for breakfast and Captain Lou’s didn’t disappoint for dinner. Looking forward to staying here again.

Spent a week at this vacation rental and found it to be a nice home with lots of space and in a great location. Check in process was easy. Some supplies were limited (ie paper towel, toilet paper, kitchen towels) and the master shower was very small. Overall had lovely stay and would recommend.

Two family vacation
Our group consisted of two families. Adults had their own bedrooms & kids had the upstairs. The central location between the beach, park, & downtown made everything so much easier. We literally parked when we got there & didn't need the car again. This home had a garage full of bikes. Our entire group enjoyed many bike rides together. The neighborhood felt safe & kids were able to bike together while the adults stayed back some of the times. Super cute back yard, easy to lay out beach items to dry.
We were there over the 4th & so thankful we could walk to see the fireworks show & parade. Parking was a nightmare that we were able to avoid.
Would recommend staying here!

Great time in SoHa!
Good house in a great location to enjoy all South Haven has to offer! House was exactly as described and worked well for my family of 5. Loved the back yard and spent many night grilling and eating outside! Thank you!

Amazing location
Jennifer was always very quick to respond! The short few blocks to the beach were perfect and we walked to town every evening for dinner.
The house was the perfect size for our family and the king size bed in the master bedroom was so soft and cozy!
Only one recommendation was to possibly redo the master bath someday. The closet is very large (and not needed) maybe expand the bathroom a bit and put in a tub/shower combo.
Otherwise a very nice place!

Family vacation
We had a wonderful time at this property. We have been to South Haven several times but the location of this house was our favorite! It’s so close to the park, the beach and the bike path. The owners were very helpful in answering questions and being flexible when we had to alter some arrangements. We would love to go back!

This is an older house that hasn’t been touched up in a while. A few little things would make this rental even better. Pots and pans are old and cheap, hard to cook with. Linens are dated, even the laundry baskets are broken up. One helpful tip - bring your fire stick for the TV as there are only the basic 5 channels.

Great location and quiet neighborhood
My family thoroughly enjoyed staying in South Haven and fell in love with the town. The location of the house was perfect and we were able to walk and bike to everything. My children especially loved the close beach and park. The hosts were readily available and quickly responded to any question that I had. The house was clean, nice private backyard and was well stocked with kitchen supplies as well as linens and towels.

We had a lovely time at the Lani Cottage. The house is four blocks from the beach and kids corner which makes it a great location! The cottage was clean and suitable for our needs with two families. My only suggestion - the house needs a few more coffee cups. The owners were great to work with and had fast response times. We will definitely return in the future.

Well maintained and comfortable
Our family had a great time .
It was close to the beach and in walking distance to everything you needed.
We had fun watching sunsets and enjoying the outside fire pit.
Their was one issue with the water but it was taken care of quickly. Not a problem anyone could have predicted.

Our best trip to South Haven. The house was perfect for our family of five. Short walk to the beach. Great beach toys in the garage. Enjoyed the eat in kitchen and backyard - both great for family interaction. Kids loved sleeping together upstairs and parents loved our master bedroom on first floor. Nice to have two showers. Corner lot is nice size for kids to play. Owners were always responsive by text and very helpful. Wifi is strong. Very close to the Van Buren Trail, which we all used for bike rides often - even found a good route to U-pick blueberries on the trail. Will be back for sure.

Great location for a family.
We love South Haven and this is the first time we stayed in a rental there. The owner is wonderful to work with and was understanding and patient with us as we had adjustments to our schedule that was out of our control during our booking. For that we are so grateful. The house itself is in a good location for families being so close to the playground as well as south beach. Although we do prefer north beach, the great thing about South Haven is everything is so close anyway that it didn't matter. Also, the house is a short walk to downtown and the pier. The house accommodated our family perfectly in terms of space. However, it is pretty beat up overall. Maybe had to do with the end of the season? And in general, it wasn't the cleanest place either. The wood floors were cleaned very well, but the carpets (especially upstairs) are filthy. And the bathrooms and kitchen need a deep cleaning. We didn't go in the basement other than to discover that although it is clean, it's an old basement that was difficult to get in and walk around in so we just didn't bother doing laundry during our stay. Having a grill there was great for us, too.

Lani Cottage is set for Fantastic Family Fun
Three generations stayed at Lani Cottage last week. The seniors in the family appreciated the comfortable bed, chairs and couches for relaxing in the living areas and the backyard. There was lots of space for the youngest family members to explore by using the bikes provided in the garage. The beach items were unexpected garage finds and very helpful. Location was key since the beach, town and park were all within biking distance. The kitchen was well stocked. We kept finding things we didn't know we had like a mixer, griddle, waffle iron, etc. We also used the fire pit and the roasting sticks. If we couldn't find anything or needed something, we called the Alexanders who were kind enough to be available at all times! We left a puzzle partially put together and enjoyed the addition of the puzzles and games. Our only suggestion might be the placement of a railing by the stairs leading to the second level.

Wonderful house for a girls getaway!
12 of us girls stayed the weekend for a Bachelorette party. We had such an amazing weekend and the house was PERFECT! Our ONLY complaint is over some materials....we ran out of toilet paper within two hours of being there and at that time, there were only 9 of us and there didn't seem to be too many garbage bags but, we had just enough so it was all good! Perfect walking distance to both downtown and the beach. The house is very spacious and comfortable. We were slightly nervous with two bathrooms and 12 girls but it worked out so well. The backyard was so relaxing and we spent the whole day and night out in it on Friday. We were hardly home, at all, Saturday but it was very comfortable to come home to when we did. Thanks again for giving is such a great girls getaway weekend!

Great Location for a Girls Weekend
Myself, as well as nine of my friends enjoyed a girl’s weekend at this house to celebrate my best friends upcoming wedding. The house was absolutely perfect! Once we arrived, we parked our cars and didn’t move them since it was an easy walk to both the beach and downtown. We spent both evenings around the fire pit in the backyard. The kitchen is the perfect size to enjoy each other’s company and there was plenty of room for all 10 adults to sleep comfortably. I highly suggest stopping by the farmer’s market on Saturdays, watching the sunset over the pier, and eating dinner at Su Casa. We were already planning our next girls trip before leaving!

We stayed at this affordable home for 4 nights and really enjoyed the California lifestyle on Lake Michigan. There was plenty of room for everyone. This house reminds me of the homes in Laguna Beach, bright, fun and clean. It only took us 5 minutes to walk to the beach and 10 to walk downtown.
This was our first time visiting and renting in South Haven and no doubt will enjoy this rental in the future. The owners were courteous and professional and there customer service definitely contributed to this 5 star review.
