This gorgeous home is exactly what my family needed to escape life for awhile. The home is wonderful, beautifully appointed both in and out and exceptionally close to the heart of Malibu ...." Our property is beautifully maintained because it's where we like to vacation, too. All carefully cleaned and freshly sanitized with a full laundry and weekly maid service. Our Guest House features a desk, office chair, high speed internet/WIFI, a printer and a professional setting plus plenty of quiet for the perfect remote private work or school space. Come experience for yourselves the crashing waves thrilling and calming both at once at this private Malibu Beach villa just 6 miles to/from Santa Monica. Wake to the sounds of the surf and the sights of dolphins and pelicans at play with over 60' of beachfront viewed from EVERY room and much more privacy than most Malibu beach properties with its gated entrance. French doors open onto both a huge sundeck and glassed-in stone patio with beach entrance, built-in BBQ and koi ponds. Stunning, hand-carved teak throughout and Asian antiques distinguish this craftsman home with elegant simplicity and sophistication. There is free off-street parking for up to 3 cars and to supplement the fireplace in winter and ocean breezes in summer, we have Central Heating and AirConditioning, as well. Our family had a wonderful stay in the ninth of July at Ann’s beach house .
The home is well attended and sits right on the ocean with expansive decks and windows with views from every room .
Ann and team were very welcoming and responsive to our every need.

We adore Malibu which is why we chose this home. We loved how much character the house has and the sound of the ocean just outside our window. While the weather was terrible during our visit we still enjoyed the fire in the fireplace and exploring the tide pools in front of the house at low tide.

My husband and I were visiting our daughter for Thanksgiving week and thought it would be great to rent a house directly on the beach in Malibu. We rented a gem of a house: right on the beach, close to Malibu and Santa Monica, and very private. We had everything we needed, and the property manager (who met us at the house when we checked in) was very helpful. We most certainly will be back!

A beautiful house right on the beach, with so much character, Japanese style and design detail. We had 5 adults which worked really well in the property. For two couples would be fantastic. The main bedroom suite with huge bed, double shower and a day room overlooking the beach is amazing. Waking up to dolphins, pelicans and the seals each morning was a great way to start the day. The layout of the house worked well for us and would do for two couples and two/ three younger children. Great location equally between Malibu Pier and Santa Monica was just where we wanted to be to explore LA whilst chilling by the sea. We hope to be back as soon as we can!

Lovely location…right on the water. We saw lots of dolphins close by! Low tide exposes the beach for several hours daily. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck in the afternoons. The house is slightly tucked back on PCH and has its own parking which makes it super convenient. The grotto shower was awesome! The interior could do with some upgrades but overall the house was enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience!
We absolutely loved our stay at Anne's amazing home. It is a wonderful combination of modern appliances and a warm, charming aesthetic. We felt very privileged to be able to stay there. Steve, the agent, went above & beyond to make sure we were well taken care of! The neighbors next door introduced themselves and told us to let them know if there was anything we needed. I haven't even mentioned the ocean - it was amazing. We took advantage of the boogie boards and were out every day. Anne provides a thorough, thoughtful guide with all the info you could want on the home and the area. I never, ever wanted to leave - thank you for sharing your amazing home with us!

We were transported from the moment we opened the garden gate and heard the ocean’s roar. The house and the location were ideal, with easy access to both Malibu proper and Santa Monica and LA. We had an amazing 11 night stay at this property while visiting my son at UCLA. It's hard to describe how nice it was. When you enter from the street, you are instantly transported to a walled Japanese house with an impeccably maintained, walled garden that includes a water falls and 2 koi ponds. The house is well appointed and the rock shower (pictured) has to be experienced to be appreciated. But the best feature to us was the view. The ocean was visible from every room and the deck was spectacular. We spent most of our time there. At night, the surf came right up under the deck. You almost felt like you were on a ship.
The wild life was also incredible. Over our stay we saw literally hundreds of dolphin and what we think was a regularly returning seal that would pop up 10 yards from shore. In the tidal pools on the beach, we saw all sorts of fish, crabs and anemones. We even saw an octopus. When the tide was way out, huge mussel covered rocks were revealed but I guess you can only harvest them from October to May (with a fishing license). On the property itself, there was a nesting family of morning doves complete with 2 hatchlings and a hummingbird that made regular rounds at 10am. Even with all that Malibu has to offer, some days it was just hard to leave. The owner and her real estate agent were terrific and very accommodating/responsive. We can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Secluded gem!
It's an older, quirky house, sure, but that's what gives it character. The decor alone makes it remarkable! And the location is perfect—not too far from Los Angeles proper, but far enough away that you feel like you're in a different world. The sounds of the ocean are everywhere and so soothing! The beach is a little tough to get to—for everyone else! This makes for a semi-private beach experience, which is amazing! Arigato for a perfect staycation!

Excellent Week Away!
We had a wonderful time. The setup was perfect for the boys to have school and for us to work as a way to change things up during quarantine. It was a memorable and fantastic week. Hearing the sound of the ocean crashing made for a wonderful trip. Communication was awesome! Thanks again.

Paradise!
One of our most favorite vacations ever! Our family needed a change of scenery so we decided to stay local in Los Angeles, but felt transported a million miles away at Anne’s lovely home. Everything was spotless, the home is so tastefully decorated, Anne has provided everything you could possibly need, and the location and view are magical! We made so many great memories and will be back for sure!

Relaxing Location
The property is unlike any other we have visited. The detail in the decor is unsurpassed. The water fall and koi ponds are very relaxing as well as being right on the beach. The showers are great, and everything you need is right there!

A Mother’s Last Wish...
As soon as we entered the property, we were awestruck. Our mom was so excited to be a guest in this beautiful home... she smiled from ear to ear,
for hours straight!
She said she “dreamed” of a home like this and that this property is exactly what she imagined.
There is definitely something (actually lots of things) special about this place!
P.S. Anne and her team are very supportive and are readily available to help at anytime... and the neighbors are awesome and so welcoming!!!

Cozy for Visiting
We recently stayed at Beauty and the Beach to visit our daughter and new granddaughter. This lovely home is even better than the pictures - so many cozy spaces for visiting, and for watching the sea life and sunsets! We found there was little reason to leave the home during our 11 day stay.

Wonderful Oasis in Los Angeles
We had an amazing stay at the Malibu property. The ocean is literally out the back door and the sunsets were unforgettable. The layout is especially nice and beds were extremely comfortable. The flora and Koi ponds were an added bonus and added to this wondering feeling of escape. We felt the property managers were on top of all and very responsive. Its very central to all malibu has to offer and a short drive to santa monica. Overall - hope to be back!!!!

A little slice of heaven
I came out here with my two teenage daughters and my sister and her husband, so 3 adults, but really 5.
Malibu is an incredible town. Whatever you are looking for is there. Art, beach, food, exercise. It's really interesting, and a place that takes you several visits to get to know.
The house is more than a house, it is closer to a villa or a compound. It has everything you need and couldn't be closer to the ocean. There really are dolphins. While the place has a japanese theme, It is very much like a villa I rented on the Italian coast.
The owners are gracious and responsive. My experience was terrific. A very quiet house where we fell asleep to the ocean every night.

Home on the waves...
Just returned from a lovely long weekend celebration with our family of 5 at this, charming Malibu home. A short drive from Santa Monica, access and parking were very convenient. Steven welcomed us personally and showed us around the house on our arrival. The beach is lovely when the tide is out and when it's in, you are literally on top of the waves! Excellent stay
This property was in a great location - close to the Malibu Pier and also close to Santa Monica. It was nice being slightly offset from PCH - made pulling in and out a lot less terrifying!!
The separate guest site was great for a couple - my parents slept there and it was nice to have some privacy!
The “conversation room” was perfect for our 3 small kids to sleep in (would not be comfortable beds for adults - it’s 3 sofas). They loved the koi pond, the beach was beautiful, and the outdoor shower was amazing.
The only negative thing I would say is that the property, though impeccably maintained, is old. The cosmetics and ofd layout didn’t bother me for the short time we were staying there (though this isn’t a bright, airy modern design so be prepared), but my son and husband with allergies were definitely triggered. It’s fully carpeted (including the master bathroom....) with lots of old area rugs, old furniture, and an old kitchen. There are also skylight panels that collect a lot of dust. It does have an “antique store” smell and feel. So those in our group with allergies had some itchy eyes and lots of sneezing :)
Otherwise, the check in process was easy, the owner was very accessible and caring, definitely went above and beyond to ensure a seamless and easy stay. She even checked in on us midway through our short stay to ensure everything was ok!

As good as it gets!
Everything about our stay exceeded expectations. This was our first time traveling with 2 young children across country and Anne could not have made the experience more comfortable or more enjoyable. The property itself isn't done justice by the pictures. There are too many positives to list in this review so I will end with simply stating this property is PERFECT!

Zen-tastic!
Really cute beach house. Right on the water and convenient to dining and shopping. We needed some zen in our lives and this beach house did the trick. Hosts and owner were amazing.

Malibu Dreaming
One of the best places I have ever stayed. The waves crash right outside the sunroom and deck allowing you to experience all the best of the ocean without going in the water or laying on the beach. The hosts provide everything you need from plentiful towels and pillows to spices etc in the kitchen. The waterfall shower was a dream. And listening to the waves crash all night long leads to deep and satisfying sleep. The house is close enough to get to Santa Monica and city points easily and the canyon roads allow you to skip the freeways frequently. We were lucky enough to be here during the superbloom. We saw gorgeous fields of yellow flowers at Point Dume and Zuma beach. And the long drive to Antelope Valley California poppy reserve was worth every second we spent in the car. Gorgeous hills of orange poppies as far as the eye can see.
The koi ponds and trees and plantings behind the house made for such a zen like and peaceful oasis so close in to Los Angeles. .
We loved staying at Beauty and the Beach. We will definitely come back. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality and sharing your beautiful home with us.

Better than I could have imagined!
This property exceeded all expectations. The ocean was literally at our doorstep for our entire stay. It was the first thing we saw in the morning and the music of it's beautiful waves lulled us to sleep each night. If that wasn't enough, elegant koi danced around the property with grace and joy to wish us well on our daily adventures and welcome us home upon our return. Well equipped and expertly furnished with everything we needed, we will definitely be back again and again.

Four days by the surf
Located directly on the sand giving us privileged access to beautiful sunsets. We especially enjoyed morning coffee and evening drinks on the deck, watching the dolphins and seals playing with the paddle boarders. Wonderful bird life also.
Very well positioned to enjoy the Malibu and Santa Monica facilities, and easy to discover new areas such as Pacific Palisades.
Terrific food options in quirky nearby restaurants. Our favourite was Malibu Farm on the pier.
Many thanks for making our post-ski trip relaxing and memorable.

OCEAN AT YOUR DOORSTEP
This property was amazing to stay. We had a party of 6 stay there very comfortably. This property is literally right on the ocean. Five steps to the sand! The waves splash right up to the house in high tide. Lots of beach walking in low tide. We rented surfboards, and were able to access waves right at the property. There are two coy ponds in the japanese gardens. I relaxed listening to the waterfalls from the ponds behind me and the waves crashing in front of me. I will definitely return to this place! Our kids LOVED it!

Wow, what a great place for a great family experience. The house, the amenities and the location was everything and more than we expected. Very cozy, well equipped and well maintained. We spent most of our time at the house but did get away to Santa Monica a couple of times which was about 5 miles down the road. The Getty Villa, which is a must-do, is within 1 mile or so. Lot's to do very near by for sure. I can't say enough about the ocean views, beach access and proximity to the water. From late morning to late afternoon, probably had 50 yards of beach between the house and the water which made for lots of fun for the kids. Anne does a great job of providing plenty of beach toys including umbrellas, balls, boogie-boards etc. From evening to mid morning, the waves literally break right up by the house. The sound of waves are a great way to wake each day. I truly can't imagine how you get closer to the water anywhere else. Because of where the house is located, you get a great view of both the sunrise and sunset. That was a nice bonus I wasn't planning on. Tons of great photo opps. We loved it, we recommend it and absolutely plan to return again. Thanks Anne for everything. So many great memories were created.

We had a fantastic time. Stopped off for six days while our eldest son visited Pepperdine University. It was fabulous the villa is lovely and the proximity to the highway was un-noticed. Just bliss to sit there on the balcony watching our Boys surf was thrilling. We barbecued often after being introduced to the fresh fish store absolutely wonderful.
