Situated in High Street, this charming cottage for R 2,870 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Fully renovated in 2018, Burton Cottage is a traditional fisherman’s cottage sitting in a unique location in Staithes and boasts magnificent views of the old village and harbour from the panoramic living room window. Within the cottage there is a fully modernised separate skylit kitchen, extremely spacious living and dining room complete with multi-fuel stove, 6ft farmhouse dining table, television and DVD player and a classical and retro vinyl collection for you to enjoy. The master bedroom is adorned with a luxurious king size bed and there are twin beds in the second bedroom. Renovated to a high standard whilst at the same time embellishing the character and style, Burton Cottage possesses all the curves and charm one would expect to find in a period property. The cottage is suitable for couples and families, we provide stair gates, children’s toys and books and a high chair and cot on request. This is a pet friendly cottage, with free unlimited WiFi and a car parking permit is provided. Please note that you can not directly park outside the property. You can park nearer for unloading purposes and then the car park is a 5 min walk away. As a holiday destination Staithes has much to offer, whether it be a rich and thriving artistic scene, a fascinating industrial past, a stunning coast line full of fossils and cliff top walks, fantastic fresh seafood and a number of fine hostelries both on the sea front and inland. Suffused with the magic of Staithes, Burton Cottage provides the perfect base to discover the secrets of the old village and the North York Moors or simply sit by the log burner watching the ebb and flow of the tide whilst luxuriating in the opportunity to get away from it all.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burton Cottage, there is nothing that the owners haven’t thought of to make this a real home from home. Stunning views from the living room, great location within the village and cosy log burner. We only wish we could have stayed longer, can’t wait to return!

We really enjoyed our time here. The cottage is full of character and charm and is extremely clean. Loved sitting at the dining table with a glass of wine every evening to watch the magnetic view as day turned into night. Staithes is a good base to explore the area and the hike to the cottage from the top car park is not challenging and well worth the effort.

This is a lovely cottage set back from the main street, it is accessed via various steps and alleyways which our children loved exploring (favourite was discovering they ended up in Dog Loup!). Situated roughly halfway between Bank Top Cark Park and the Harbour Front it makes easy walking whichever way you need to go. House was spotless, lovely welcome treat left for us and comfy beds. Kitchen is a lovely size, equipped with everything you need. Views from the living room absolutely spectacular, it was nice to just sit and watch the harbour. Children loved the attic bedroom with its own spectacular views. Such a wonderful cottage, we'll definitely be back!

A nicely renovated and well presented cottage with a fabulous view of the harbour from the dining table. A real delight to have a lazy breakfast whilst watching the goings on. Unfortunately the local electrical company had temporarily closed the top path to the cottage so our legs were tested by the hill over the week - probably good for us though!

We stayed between Xmas and New Year and when we arrived the Xmas tree lights were on in the lounge giving the house a very cosy feel. The house is very well equipped and the beds are comfy. If you’re over 6ft tall take care as this is an old cottage and the doorways and the attic room have restricted height. Overall a beautiful cottage in a lovely place.

We have stayed at Staithes many times and this cottage is one of the best. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the King size bed was superb. The place was spotless. Plenty of hot water and was lovely and warm. A real treat for Christmas. However, it is a long way from the car park or the High Street to transport boxes of food and Christmas treats. The stairs in the cottage are extremely steep and polished so great care is needed. We had a wonderful time.

As everyone says this cottage has a great view which is true and we spent a great deal of time looking at it when in the cottage. The living room and kitchen are well laid out and have great headroom, just beware of the steps to the kitchen as although well signposted took a few days of head banging to get used to the height. First floor and a mvery good size bedroom with great views, just make sure you are wearing something appropriate before opening the curtains! The bathroom is compact and only my daughter could stand up straight in the shower due to the headroom but as long as you don’t want to spend ages in there it is fine. The second floor is sparsely furnished and is really only suitable for children as the headroom on the steps is very low, another nice view from the window. The car park is a 15 to 20 minute round trip when carrying luggage etc so I would recommend travelling light, which we didn’t.

Fabulous traditional cottage which has been lovingly renovated in a stunning location with fabulous views of Staithes Harbour, and within a few minutes walk to all Staithes has to offer. An ideal base to explore this lovely area.

This is a marvellous location for a long weekend in Staithes. As is probably the case with almost all of the holiday homes in Staithes, it is necessary to park the cars at the top of the hill and walk down with bags to the cottage - but this minor inconvenience is soon forgotten on entering the accommodation as you are immediately impressed by a superb view of the harbour. The kitchen is well appointed and the lounge and dining areas very comfortable, as are the beds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return at some stage in the future.

Absolutely love Burton Cottage. Great location right in the middle of Staithes. Fantastic sea view from the dining table…..wow! Everything you need in the cottage and more. Lovely,clean and cosy. Well equipped kitchen if you want to cook for yourselves which we did. Five stars from us (and Penny the Pooch) we’ll definitely will stay here again. Also a big thank you to Sinead who swapped our stay at very very short notice due to us being struck with the dreaded COVID the day before we were supposed to be staying.

Lovely cottage overlooking the harbour, we took full advantage of the sea view each morning with a cuppa. Decor and facilities was to high standard, excellent use off space (you would get a great episode of George Clarkes Amazing spaces with cottage 😄). Would highly recommend a visit. We will hopefully be back.

We had a lovely time at Burton Cottage. The property is very homely, with stunning views out to see, over the harbour. We had some great walks out and along the cleaveland way, and can definitely recommend the Cod and Lobster for food and a great pint.

It was a great stay. The weather, although cold did not dampen the break we had. It was a pleasure to stay in, on the one day where we had rain. The log burner really helped and added atmosphere . The view from the lounge really made the cottage a fabulous place to while away the time. We jigsawed and read. It was really enjoyable. The kitchen and bathroom were excellent although the shower does lack power, but that will be due to other factors. Some improvements to the draft proofing around the front door and bedroom and bathroom windows would help and lift the total score to 5 stars, but , even in winter, these were minor items. A totally enjoyable stay and I would recommend it to anyone . The food at the captain cook hotel was excellent

This is the 4th time we've been to Staithes and it never disappoints. This cottage was fantastic. The views from the dining table were brilliant (the picture doesn't really do it justice). We will definitely return and would love to stay at the cottage again.
