La Vida is 'The Life' And you will realize it as soon as you set down your bags, breathe in the ocean air of the tropics, and enjoy the spectacular view. From the morning's first rays of light peeking over the mountains to the last glowing embers of the sun slipping into the sea, a panoramic bird's eye view is yours and is truly stunning. One of the nicest features of this spacious 2 bedroom condo are the stacking glass doors spanning the entire front living area and when open offers an unobstructed view of the gentle, curving bay of Zihuatanejo. Casa La Vida's special location provides excellent vistas but is located very close to the protected bay. Enjoy great swimming and snorkeling without all the crowds. You will feel like you are on top of the world but the soft, golden sand is only steps away from your door. Inside Casa La Vida, the outstanding amenities include king size beds with mattresses that are truly comfortable. Lots of pillows and sumptuous Egyptian cotton sheets. This adds to the pleasure of being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves lapping at the shore. Wake in the master bedroom in what could be described as an infinity bed, another spectacular view of the bay with the ocean beyond. The guest bedroom also has a comfortable king and opens to a small private terrace. You will enjoy preparing meals in our sparkling new, quality crafted kitchen. Granite counter tops provide ample room and modern appliances include a refrigerator providing cold, drinkable water and ice at the push of a button. In fact you can feel confident about drinking water from all the taps as the entire complex has a state of the art water filtration system. Both bathrooms are quite luxurious, huge showers feature built in marble benches and the towels are thick and fluffy. The restful breezes of the bay are always pleasant but if you want to cool down a bit more, there are fans and quiet air conditioning in all rooms. When leaving the condo you can feel secure. There is a built in safe for your valuables and the building has electronic locked gates, an intercom system and private elevator. At the beach you can engage in a multitude of sun, sea and sand activities or you can just leisurely stroll along the waters edge. The many beachfront restaurants allow you to enjoy quite an assortment of gourmet culinary delights while wiggling your toes in the sand. A different dining experience for each day of the week is possible. Some of our favorites are Paty's where fresh fruits and vegetables accompany a large variety of seafood and traditional Mexican dishes. Try a glass of fresh squeezed orange,papaya or pineapple juice with breakfast. Paty's also offers morning yoga classes upstairs.Friendly waiters, Arturo and Raul are always happy to see you. Arrive in late afternoon and you will have the opportunity to catch Happy Hour at one of the many breezy palapa restaurants along La Ropa beach. What better way to unwind from a long flight than drop off your bags at the condo and head for the beach? The Coconut shrimp at Elvira's is heavenly and the after dinner Kahlua and cream is a nice touch. La Perla is a little farther down the beach, the breezy open-air bar stocks different varieties of tequila just right for sipping or made into one of the best Margaritas on the beach. Second only to the view from La Vida's terrace, the beach restaurants are all wonderful spots to watch the sunset. There are also many things to do just a taxi drive away. Many of the drivers speak excellent English and arrangements can be made for quick trips or all day excursions. Some of the water activities you can enjoy on the bay are jet skis, kayaks, parasailing or riding the banana boat.For something extra special, book a snorkeling or sunset cruise on the catamaran The Picante. Even water skiers get out on the bay in the mornings when the surf is calm. There are open aire tents at the motels on the beach for massage. It's a very relaxing treat to be pampered with the sound of the waves, the soft breeze and skilled hands. Ixtapa (just over the hill)offers the nightlife and there are two top notch golf courses. While Troncones (about a 45 min. drive )is popular for surfing and long quiet stretches of beach to gather shells or stop in at one of the many restaurants for lunch or just a cool drink. When you stay at the Casa La Vida you are part of an exclusive complex of only 6 units. Some of the other residents are there full time, there are no crowds. Respect for the tranquility and privacy enjoyed by all is of the utmost importance. Casa La Vida is a non-smoking condo. The tranquil nature of La Vida is such that it is more suited to adults, we do not allow children under sixteen. Check-in time is 3pm Check-out time is 12:00, If you have a late flight you are welcome to store your luggage and use the pool, there is a shower, bathroom and changing area. Our large infinity pool is never crowded and is located down a short path just below the condo. It's a great location to take a quick dip, lounge the day away or celebrate with a toast at sunset. Wow! What a lovely two weeks. The condo is as nice as the photos suggest and the view cannot be adequately captured with a photo. We could barely tear ourselves away from chilling on that deck alternating with an occasional dip in the gorgeous swimming pool. Sunsets! Fabulous!
The condo is well supplied with everything you need to enjoy your time. Rich could not have been nicer and the building manager, Filberto, met us personally on the first day to show us around and give us some hints about the area. He also provided us with the name and number of a delightful cab driver who always appeared as scheduled and then returned to pick us up again. Though the unit is situated near the top of a rather challenging hill, it is easy and inexpensive to get a cab back from the beach or from Zihuatenejo. We took the hill as an opportunity for exercise and we walked everywhere. It is a 15 or 20 minute walk to Zihua and a five or six minute walk down to the beach where you will find lots of wonderful beachside dining. We suggest La Gaviota. The food, presentation, and service are all first rate.

Check-in: Rich had us arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport which we felt special and like the royals. We had only stayed in resorts and hotel before so we came to know that getting an address and plugging it in Google maps does not work 😆 Thank you Rich for entertaining our call and explaining this to us. You are provided with a code to get in to the property
Cleanliness: The property is very clean. We were there for 2 weeks and had cleaning in the middle of our stay.
Accuracy of Online Listing: The pictures shown on the listing is very accurate to the actual place and more. The place is gorgeous with the living room opens up to the balcony and overlooking La Ropa and the bay.
Overall: We had our two adult kids with us and
we enjoyed our stay so much. We hope to stay again in the future. This place is highly recommended. The condo is just 10 steps away from the infinity pool. It is great to lounge in the water during hot afternoon or even in the evening. The area is a 5 min walk to the La Ropa beach. You will find good restaurants there like La Perla and Triton. You can take a taxi or collectivo to the town. There are also lots of restaurants you can find there. We enjoyed resturants such as La Papa Loca for authentic tacos, AnYs for pozoles, Carmilta’s for breakfast and fresh tortillas, Casanova for nice evening meal and entertainment (thank you Rich for your suggestion) and El Veijo for a nice evening meal as well run by a very friendly owner.

The property was as advertised. The view was stunning. Indoor/Outdoor living was amazing. Stayed there for a week with my family. The 2 bedroom/2bath condo had everything needed to enjoy a relaxing vacation. The infinity pool was steps away from the unit. Loved the large waterfall showers in both bathrooms. Always had hot water and water pressure was great. The kitchen had everything to enjoy eating in. Close walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed 10 days at this glorious property. It easily has the BEST view of the bay, and I have been visiting Zihuatanejo for 20+ years. You will love the indoor/outdoor living, as we spent the majority of our time on the covered porch. The ceiling fans and ocean breezes, even on 90 degree days made the space lovely. This is an excellent spot for friends or couples, as the 2 bedrooms are comfortable with great beds and bathrooms for each suite. Additionally, because this is a smaller condo complex it was like having a private pool. I spent about 4 hours minimum at the pool each day. You will love the hand orange/lime squeezer which was perfect for our cocktails. This condo has everything you need. Sad to be home in rainy/cold WA, bit am rested and renewed from this blissful visit.

Wonderful
Absolutely loved the place. Small complex ( only 6 units). We had the pool to ourselves the whole time. We walked everywhere but taxis are so inexpensive that’s a great option. Loved having everything open. We never shut the big opening. The breeze kept it plenty cool. Bed is comfortable. We were there in March. This one is a definite return for us.

Amazing sunsets, beautiful condo, perfect pool, and Andreas completes your vacation
We spent our mornings on the open air terrace drinking coffee and watching the whales in the bay. And spent our days lounging in the infinity pool after a day at La Ropa beach. The sunsets from the terrace were absolutely beautiful.
The condo is one of 6 in a building with a few full time residents as well as VRBO folks. We befriended all and had wonderful meals and conversations with our new friends.
Our tour guide and driver, Andreas who is a local and would take us anywhere we wanted to go with 10 minute notice. A delightful person whom we depended on for excursions.
We are looking forward to coming back soon!

Spectacular, can hardly wait to return!
The property is beautiful, clean, bright and spacious, taking full advantage of the breathtaking ocean views from this height. The high quality bedding, heavy wooden shutters and strong AC units ensure a wonderful night's rest every night. Beach is a steep 7-9 minute walk down which we chose to drive most days. Public parking is available near the beach as are taxi cabs. Rich was responsive and flexible and his house staff were equally attentive. This is one of the best VRBO experiences I have had and would highly recommend a stay at Rich's place at Casa Zih. I can hardly wait to return!

We never closed the doors once in our whole time there, and we never needed to use the air conditioning. The kitchen was nicely stocked with utensils, and the washer / dryer worked great. There is tons of room, and lots of storage space, and the beds are very comfortable. This is a very private building, with only six units. We felt like we had the beautiful infinity pool to ourselves, and when we met other guests, they were usually long term residents, very friendly with lots of info about the area. Rich was easy to communicate with, and Filiberto and Noe were great. Would definitely recommend Casa Zih, although I should mention the walk up the hill from the beach is brutal. Most people take a taxi, which are plentiful all over Zihuatanejo, and cheap.

Paradise in Zih
What a lovely property and perfect spot for our Mothers/Daughters get away! The condo is much bigger than it looks online and perfectly appointed with Mexican treasures along with all the amenities one needs.
La Ropa beach is stunning with lots of options for dining out, fabulous Margaritas and incredible massages. The infinity pool is the perfect temperature and a nice way to wind down after a day on the beach.
You do not need to rent a car as taxis to downtown are readily available and inexpensive. We did a lot of walking too and now have buns of steel! The hike up the hill to the condo is steep but worth it for the stunning sunset view.
Filberto, the property manager is a wonderful host who made pick up and drop off at the airport a breeze. As well we received great tips and suggestions from the property owner Rich.
Thanks to all who made this an enjoyable holiday! Zih is our new favourite spot in Mexico. We will be back!

Just The Best As Always!
We stayed here 4 years ago and appreciate it as much or more than we did then. Rich, the owner, seems to really care about this condo and it is kept up very well. The property is perfectly maintained overall. Rich’s condo is so private but has perfect access to the pool area. You can pull the folding glass door across if you wish to but we never did .. loved feeling so close to the outdoors. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and it is so nice to have the washer/dryer. Great access to Playa La Ropa. We love having a good little workout but the walk or hike back up may be a bit much for some people in the heat. No worries though .. the taxi drivers are accommodating at a price! You can book this place with confidence. We love it!

Perfect Getaway
This is our second stay at Casa Zih. As we are getting ready to make our way back to the far North, we are already making arrangements to return. Our condo is clean, modern and convenient to stores and restaurants. We prefer to eat most our meals in, so we love having a fully equipped kitchen. If you want a large all inclusive complex, this place is not for you. We share a pool with six other units, but most days we have the entire pool to our selves which is only a few steps from our front door. It's quiet and relaxing. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely spectacular and it's a great place to watch the stars at night. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the beach where there are plenty of places to eat, swim or partake in other beach activities. Most importantly it's a gated complex and extremely secure and safe. The staff is awesome and we've been able to easily arrange rides to and from the airport as well as rides to the large grocery store, or able to arrange excursion anywhere. If you need a guide with someone who speaks English, that can be arranged.

Stunning view! Complete paradise! Look no further!
I have been to all the obvious Mexican beach towns but Zihuatanejo is by far my favorite. In this, my 14th visit to Mexico and 3rd visit to Zih, I have found the perfect accommodations. This condo is an ideal home away from home in so many ways but most importantly is the superb floor plan and it's spectacular view! Nestled high up the junglesque hillside, there is no need to go "out" to the balcony to experience the view because the panoramic view of the bay, the big sky, and the outdoor fresh air with its ever-present light breeze simply intertwine with daily life inside this comfortable home. Cooking was a joy because we felt as though we were "one" with the outdoors! When we opened the huge, glass wall/door (which I had never seen before) there was really no reason to ever leave! The view and lovely breeze are the same from the master bedroom! The photos can not possibly do justice to this amazing indoor/outdoor open living floor plan! The decor may seem slightly dated in the photos, but in reality it all flows together beautifully! Adding to the brilliant design of this unit... the gorgeous infinity pool is a few well-placed steps away. There are only six condos in this building and we had the entire place nearly to ourselves. The spacious and well-designed bathrooms and closets are perfect. The kitchen had everything you would ever need or want. LaRopa Beach is a pleasant 8 to 10 minute walk (albeit a steep one) away - along with small stores, restaurants and bars. We also walked to and from El Centro and to Las Gatos Beach. I highly recommend walking there if you are fine with hiking through a rocky path for a short section. However, taxis are everywhere all the time and super inexpensive. Forgot a book to read? No worries. Plenty to choose from. Who knows if the tv works? Why would anyone turn it on in paradise? Wifi was easy and troublefree. I can not recommend this place highly enough! However, if you are the type who likes to be in the middle of a lot of action, this is not the place for you.

Wonderful Condo with World Class View
We just returned from two weeks staying at this wonderful property. The condo is exactly as the pictures show! I cannot imagine what could be done to improve upon it... it was FIVE STAR all the way! It has a breathtaking view (totally open to the veranda), very luxurious finishes and was completely stocked. Very quickly it became my home away from home! The town of Zihuatanejo is very quaint and Mexican authentic...without the crowds. The beaches were lovely and Playa La Ropa is one of the nicest beaches I have ever seen and just a short 15 minute walk down hill. Speaking of "the hill"... there is a steep incline (200 yds or so) to get to this magnificent view but taxi's are abundant and there is no need to climb the hill if you are not keen on working up a sweat. We were very impressed with the amenities in town and the restaurants were really excellent. We felt very lucky to have been able to stay at this property. The manager, Filberto is a pro. He made our landing seamless and was very helpful getting us all stowed away. My favorite part was meeting our taxi driver, Andres, who took very good care of us, day or night (I believe he comes with the condo...ha ha). It was like we had our own personal chauffeur! The grounds are well maintained, and it was fun trying to speak Spanglish to the care-taker Noe, who also was just a really nice guy. The linens were immaculate, and the house-keeper, Aurora, does a great job of keeping everything spotless. Many thanks Rich for sharing your little piece of paradise. Fingers crossed, we'll be back!

So special you will not want to leave
Zihuatanejo is such a very special place it brings us back year after year. This is actually our fourth visit to
Casa La Vida and we feel incredibly fortunate to be able to stay in this lovely condo owned by Rich. For us
the view is so important and it has one that is breathtakingly beautiful. To wake up every morning to the sounds of the waves and the view of the boats in the bay is heavenly. This lovely condo is well equipped and we eat in quite a lot because it has such a great kitchen and the fresh produce available at the market is incredible. The condo is clean, very spacious and nicely decorated. We have always felt safe in Zihua and this small and very desirable building is secure. Playa La Ropa is very near and it is a lovely walk into the charming town or a bus or inexpensive taxi ride away. We absolutely love Casa La Vida it is like a 2nd. home to us and we would not hesitate to recommend it. Once here you will not want to leave.

La Vida top notch-great view-best area in Zihuatanejo
Wow! were the first words out of our mouths upon arrival. All the pictures are fantastic but it's even better in person. The overview in the description of this listing is precisely accurate. The view from the condo is out of this world. Words alone doesn't describe the beauty and luxury of La Vida. Located atop a steep but short driveway and only a 10 minute walk down to the best beach La Ropa; with numerous restaurants and wateringholes at your disposal. Plenty of watersports: parasailing, jet skiing, water taxis to La Gatas Beach, a short distance away. Located about a mile south of town, is a great walk with numerous restaurants along the way and tons more in the town itself, or take a taxi, which are plentiful for your service. The owner Rich and property manager Filiberto are so helpful with all kinds of information and tips for your enjoyable stay in Paradise. The infinity pool is the best I've ever experienced with very comfortable water temperatures. We spent mornings, afternoons, and evenings cooling off in the pool between our excursions. The condo is well furnished and has everything you would need. 2 wonderful bedrooms with a huge master bath with large tile showers and overhead shower fixtures, and a good-sized walk-in closet and another desk-like area with a safe for your valuables.
Also, another bathroom next to the 2nd bedroom, with like-shower amenities as the master. The accordian folding, exterior wood-framed, glass-paneled doors are a wonderful highlight for letting in the breezes. There are several ceiling fans to keep the air circulated, with AC, if needed. The Casa Zih is a 5 unit, with a locking gated, condo complex and a very quiet atmosphere. I highly recommend La Vida as a top-notch vacation rental and can't wait to return.

Doesn't get any better...
This was our second stay here and we can't say enough about how wonderful it is. Owner & property manager are both professional, responsive and friendly. It's a small complex, set up on the hill overlooking the bay. The view, which is second to none can be enjoyed from master bedroom, kitchen, living/dining room and the accordion door/window wall opens the whole space up to provide the ultimate in indoor/outdoor living. Climb the hill from the beach and slip right into the infinity pool to cool off and relax while looking back at the bay below. Other renters and owners that we have met have always been like minded - mature, quiet & respectful. There are lots of restaurants to walk to or a cab will cost you a few dollars to almost anywhere. Given the option of staying on the beach or here...I would always stay here - without hesitation.

Our March 2016 Stay At La Vida
This is an extraordinary property located a short hike up Mt. Rainier above Playa La Ropa. We joked about the hike everytime we headed home up the hill - walked up about 3 times daily. You can take a taxi but we did't. It is very steep but only takes a few minutes. La Vida is a very nice, almost luxurious, 2 bedroom/2 bath condo located in Casa Zih. The owner, Rich, has expanded the deck into a spacious terrace. Folding glass accordion doors can stay open to the outside, or close during rain or at night. We kept them open almost the entire week. The kitchen is up to date (granite countertops, good fridge, dishwasher) with a small laundry room. The master suite is very comfortable, more secluded, but with the same perfect view. Master closet is spacious. Second bedroom is more cavelike and quiet. The only drawback was the fairly new nightclub Loot with LOUD music almost every night, but never very late except Saturday night until 1:00 am. Accommodation is a short walk to the perfect beach with all sorts of perfect Zihua restaurants where you can sit with your feet in the sand. Downtown is a 15 minute walk ... we went every morning. Panoramic, hilly walk. You can take a taxi back for $2.50 if it is too hot. Case Zih has a great staff and is very secure and safe. It has only 6 units so the infinity pool is never crowded. Owners who were staying there were friendly and nice. Owner Rich gave us lots of tips and is a great person. This is probably the best rental we have ever found on VRBO. Enjoy every minute!

Best condo/best host in Zihua
The nine days we spent at La Vida were absolutely wonderful, in no small part to our host Rich, who made sure in every way that we were oriented and comfortable. This was our first visit to Zihuatanejo, and it was the nicest spot in Mexico I've visited. The condo is perfectly situated, near La Ropa beach, but walking distance to both Las Gatas and downtown Zihua. We'd walk into town, then take a taxi back. The taxi fare is 45 pesos, or about $3. I debated whether to rent a car, and was glad I didn't. The taxis are so easy to use and driving would have been stressful. The condo is well maintained and well appointed, with lots of beach towels, a powerful blender in the kitchen, good air conditioners, nice bathrooms, and comfortable beds. The tap water is filtered and you can drink it without a problem. The pool is just amazing, the water is kept crystal clear at a perfect temperature, and the view is awesome. But the best thing about this property is the owner, Rich. He's a great resource for local restaurants and activities. He offered us an extra night without charge because he wanted us to be able to stay to see the fireworks on New Year's Eve. I mentioned I would be having a birthday during our stay and he had a spectacular flower arrangement waiting when we arrived. All in all, the perfect, relaxing vacation.

Look no further!
Indoor/outdoor living at it's best! The accordion glass doors fold away and the sunlight and sound of the ocean fills the condo. Perched above the beach and facing west provides loads of sun and the best view of the famous Zihuat sunset. All the comforts of home are here - granite counters, stainless appliances, comfy beds, fluffy towels the list goes on and filtered water throughout the small complex makes everything easier! The infinity pool is steps away but doesn't compromise the privacy of the unit. The walk/climb from the beach is steep but not long. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from. The owner and property manager are both very helpful if you have any questions. We can't wait to return!

Quiet Paradise
Second stay at Casa La Vida. Very peaceful and relaxing. Not many other guests around and almost always had the pool to ourselves. Caretaker and property manager very pleasant and helpful if required.
Views from room and pool spectacular. Everything clean and well maintained.

Best holiday we can remember !
We absolutely loved Zihuatanejo....but the condo and location was what made it so fantastic. Everything was perfect! The tv wasn't working when we were there ....didn't care. Who needs or wants it in a beautiful place like this. Cooking was easy. Kitchen well equipped. Beds were great. We loved the steep climb to the condo for our daily exercise. This would definitely be a drawback for those who have trouble walking or the elderly. Although cabs come right to your door....so not an issue if you don't mind cabbing. The pool is magnificent! Warm and very very clean. All of the people involved in the care and management of this complex were friendly and efficient. Unfortunately they have a no children policy. As such it very quiet. We are returning.. And hope to keep returning as long as this condo is available! It was the best most relaxing holiday we have had in 30 years. Big big thumbs up! :)

View To Die For
This property was better then I expected in every way, and the view will stay with us for a lifetime. When I think of paradise I will always think of Zihuatanejo, La Ropa Beach and this condo. It is well maintained, the management is more then helpful and this is the part of town you want to stay in. It is clean, quiet, safe, and we enjoyed our stay and will go back next year. The owner is helpful, the beach is three blocks away, it's beautiful, clean, level to walk or swim in and the various restaurants fun with a variety of good food. My favorite is Amuleto, maybe not for everyone, but wonderful. Enjoy!

Great place/condo, spectacular views and close to everything (beach, restaurants, etc.) . We really enjoyed the location and condo and had a great trip. Lupita the house cleaner also made one of the best meals I've ever had. Would recommend to anyone
