About this house rental
HELLO SUMMER! My wife and I invite you to view our home and hopefully make it your summer stay. Our home is in fantastic location, set back from the street and surrounded by mature trees giving a private feel, but only a short walk to the beach. The land mass here is not very wide, only 5 rows of houses from the beach to the main road and 1 row to the sound. That means there is no rush to get to the beach, sleep in; plenty time to find a great spot. The beach is large and most days the water has a glistening emerald glow. Also, a new beach access was built in 2017 and located close to the house. Our home features a spacious and open reverse floor plan with ceilings vaulted eleven feet. New for this year is all three bathrooms have been upgraded with vanities, counter tops, water fixtures, led lighting and toilets. The master bath also has a new enlarged shower. The living room has new reclining couches and the 1st floor entry has all new led lighting fixtures. Lastly the top deck is now finished with composite railing and decking. The top deck is now bare feet friendly and just a great spot to hang out The kitchen is roomy and fully stocked with everything needed to whip up a great meal, while watching the waves. There is seating for six at the kitchen peninsula. The main feature of the dining area is a handmade reclaimed wood table, that seats six comfortably and still have a nice view of the ocean.. After dinner hit the couches, relax and watch some TV. This year we replaced all the tv's with Samsung Smart TVs. They all have HULU loaded and now you have the ability to watch your favorite steaming service. Better yet, grab a drink and step out onto the deck and just relax, watch the waves and listen to that ocean. Also on this level are a half bath and a large pantry. The 3 bedrooms are located on the first floor. We have a master with a king size bed, memory foam mattress, attached bath, large closet and a wall mounted 55 inch flat screen TV . This room has access to the first floor deck. Second bedroom features a queen size bed ,memory foam mattress, large closet and a new wall mounted 32 inch flat screen TV. This room also has access to the first floor deck. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds, a small closet and a new wall mounted 32 inch flat screen TV. All the bedrooms feature ceiling fans. The main entry is on the ground level. As you enter the house you come into a laundry area/catch all, great place to drop all the beach gear. One flight up and you're on the bedroom level. Outside we have a large private newly built outdoor shower with hot/cold water with Trex decking next to a nice seating area under the house. Also, we have a large picnic table and a new gas grille, great for a quick outdoor lunch. Anyone making a trip to the beach knows how valuable that packing space in the car is, so we have beach chairs and umbrellas for you to use. We have plenty of parking and all the exterior lighting is dusk to dawn, making it safer coming and going at night. We are located approximately 3 miles from the center of town, close enough to bike and explore. We are renting Sunday to Sunday. This year we added towels and linens into the booking fee, if you don't need them, let us know and they will be removed before you book. We try very hard to keep our place updated, clean and comfortable for our guest. Please read our reviews and feel free to contact Stephanie with any questions. We loved everything about this property. From the cleanliness to the layout. The owners were wonderful to work with, they responded very quickly to any request or questions we had. It is not directly on the beach (about a block walk distance), but you can see and hear the ocean from the upper balcony. We would definitely stay at this property again!

Our last minute vacation to the NC shore was spectacular because of this place! The house was exceptional! The location was perfectly situated near the boardwalk to the beach. The beach was wonderful, not crowded whatsoever. Communication with the hosts was great, they answered all questions almost immediately. Everything about our short stay was PERFECT. Highly rated, would absolutely stay again!!

Love house and Location. Not safe for vacationers sitting on beach or going in ocean with fishermen and vehicles on beaches. They should not be allowed until October.

Long-awaited family vacation with four of our adult children. We thoroughly enjoyed and felt at home at this well-appointed, well-located (only 7 minute walk to beach access) retreat. The beach accessories, kitchenware and linen service made our travel logistics easy to manage. John and Stephanie provided clear instructions, and addressed our questions with practically no delay. Decks gave view of the surf with privacy. So peaceful in the morning! Highly recommend this location for families looking for an opportunity to reconnect.

Very clean, great views and short walk to beach
It was a breeze for check-in, it was very clean. Comfortable, the views were great and the beach was only a 3 minute walk away. Beach chairs provided were nice. New appliances, kitchen was very clean.
The only caution for those looking at places is this would not be a place for anyone with bad knees or elderly, as you need a flight of steps to bedrooms and then another flight to drop off groceries, kitchen is on top floor. (but you have views of the ocean in the living room) Overall one of the nicest places we have stayed.

Home away from home
My spouse and our family come to Emerald Isle every year with extended family. This property was perfect for our family and look forward to future stays. This house had everything we needed for the perfect beach vacation! Everything was clean and organized. Stephanie was quick to respond and wonderful to work with when booking and throughout our stay.

Great location between EI and Salter Path. The area was nice and quiet. The house was clean and simple and met all our needs. Wonderfully short walk to the beach. A great place to stay.

Fabulous and Relaxing
This was our third stay at Mystic Sea, and like our previous two visits, we couldn't have asked for more. The house is lovely and well equipped for both indoor and outdoor beach life. The owners could not have been more responsive and kind with any questions we had. Highly recommend! We will defintely return.

Such a wonderful property!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. It is very clean and comfortable. The views and natural lighting are amazing. The neighborhood is friendly and quiet. A great spot for riding bikes as well. It’s a great location, great home, great accommodations. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Moms and daughters getaway
This is a very clean and updated property. There were lots of windows for a beautiful almost 360 degree view of the area. We really loved the provided chairs and umbrellas for the beach. The beach was a short walk away. The neighborhood and beach were quiet. We had fun sifting through seashells. We took advantage of the grill to cook local seafood. Everyone slept well in the comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Thanks for thinking of all the hooks inside and outside the house to hang towels and wet suits!! There are stairs in this rental so you will be going up and down alot! Thanks for a wonderful long weekend to explore the area and just relax!

This was our second stay at Mystic Sea and everything was absolutely wonderful - immaculately clean, beautiful, and every amenity you could possibly want/need. The location and incredibly easy and quick beach access can't be beat. We are looking forward to our next visit. Mystic Sea is definitely a 5+ star accommodation!

Wonderful house close to the beach!
We had never been to Emerald Isle and simply googled best beaches in North Carolina. When we came upon Emerald Isle and searched VRBO, the Mystic Sea was the highest rated rental. Looking further into the property, we loved everything about it. The set up of the house, it’s proximity to the beach and all of the amenities. The house did not disappoint! It was very clean upon arrival, everything was ready to go. Kitchen and upstairs living area had a wonderful layout, with an excellent deck to sit outside to watch the sunrise, sunset, or just listen to the waves hit the shore. Yes, you’re that close you can hear the waves from the house! The house has everything you’d need in the kitchen, a water cooler with filtered water, TVs, patio furniture, washer/dryer, and wonderful chairs and umbrellas for the beach. They’re easy to carry so you won’t need a cart or anything unless you have a large group with kids - then I’d suggest a cart for all of your items (bring your own, they do not provide one). You do need to provide you own paper supplies like toilet paper and paper towels, and the beds are not made upon arrival. Also, if you need a hair dryer, you need to bring on as well. That was the only downside - we arrived very late Saturday night and realized after unpacking that we had to make the beds! But otherwise an excellent property and the owner Stephanie was very helpful and quick to respond. I highly recommend the Mystic Sea for your next visit to Emerald Isle - I know we will definitely be back and will be renting this wonderful property again!

Relaxing Vacation at Mystic Sea
Our family had a wonderful stay at Mystic Sea at the end of August. Everything was clean and a private spot not far from the beach at all. Kitchen was so nice and great offering of games, books and puzzles! Beds were super comfy and the beach chairs were a nice treat to use. Thanks so much for a great stay!!

The updated Trex deck boards on the deck off the kitchen looks fabulous and we worried less about or kids running around barefoot out there. With precious packing space we always appreciate that they have beach chairs available. We biked nearly every day and were able to store our 4 bikes in the mud room/laundry area with room to spare. You wont find a better rental!

We have been privileged to stay at Mystic Sea on numerous occasions. As always, the home and furnishings were immaculate. We had everything that we needed. Property maintenance was able to answer a minor question over the telephone. Mystic Sea will continue to be our "go to" vacation spot.

Mystic Sea
We have stayed at this property many times before when it was owned by someone else and was listed with Bluewater GMAC. This was the first time we have used a VRBO. The new homeowner has made many new improvements. Everything with the rental went smoothly and we would definately rent this property again.

Wonderful Stay
We were very happy with our stay at Mystic Sea. The property was even better than pictured and described. All was immaculately clean, and we really appreciated the convenience of linens and towels provided. The location was fabulous - just a short walk to the beach. We highly recommend!
