Paid for two weeks but couldn’t stay there. Lost it all. Owner even felt necessary to shortchange us on the security deposit even though we only stayed there a few hours while we searched for a hotel.

House seems small but it was perfect for our family of 6. The house doesn’t feel like a rental, full of little details with nice linens and big enough kitchen.

The house was stunning, spacious, and homey. We could tell it is well loved. It is close to the beach and the village! When we arrived it was all lit up and beautiful! The house and yard are huge! The owners were easy to contact and gracious! We will be back! Thank you so much Kathryn and Dean!

What an amazing place to stay! The location is superb on beautiful Palm Island, it is less than 10 minute walk to the beach and 15 mins to Siesta Key Village with a variety of shops, eating places and a well stocked Mortons Supermarket and Deli. The walks to these places are a pleasure in themselves through a lovely neighbourhood. The accommodation is detached with a very beautiful, private and well landscaped rear garden, we spent many hours enjoying the peaceful ambiance and made good use of the barbecue. Both the front and rear garden are well lit up in the evenings with attractive lighting The interior is clean, spacious, comfortable and very on trend. It has two large seating areas, one of which overlooks the beautiful rear garden. The other lounge area has a large flat screen television with Apple TV and good WiFi. The kitchen is adequate with all modern appliances and there is a quirky utility room with large washing machine and separate dryer.The bedrooms are all large with plenty of storage and comfortable beds. The main bedroom has an en-suite and there is a separate bathroom accommodating the other two bedrooms. Both bathrooms are adequate with good showers but are a bit dated in comparison to the rest of the house as is the outside of the property which the owners are in the process of updating. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay in an amazing location for the best holiday ever!. It ticked all the boxes for us.

We stayed at this property for 10 days. From August 13 to the 23rd and were unaware that the beach close by was affected by Red tide which was apparently discovered before we booked on July 17. We travelled from Montreal to siesta (26 hour drive) just for the beach and were not advised that this area had a huge issue. We were forced to drive almost 2 hours each day to Clearwater to enjoy the beach and another 2 hours to get back. The owner being a head captain at the Mote Aquarium was obviously aware of the situation and failed to even mention anything to us. :-( for obvious reasons. We were provided with 4 free tickets to Mote Aquarium which was a nice gesture, but once there, we were advised that the tickets were expired and they confiscated the tickets to investigate how those were issued. Needless to say, the experience was embarrassing. The house itself needs a lot of work. If you love the outdoors, then this place is perfect for you. For us, it was less than ideal as we got eaten alive by all the mosquitoes. Place was swarming in mosquitoes everywhere. You could not step a foot outside without getting bitten also as soon as you'd open the door to get inside, the mosquitoes would follow. The AC was not very strong and the kitchen had ants everywhere on the counters. Could not have any food on the counters or prepare any food on counters. Everything had to be placed in the fridge. All dry stuff was placed in our cooler. The fridge had a broken shelf and filter for water and ice had not been changed so could not be used. Water pressure in the main bathroom was very weak. The bathroom door lock was broken and the TV had very basic channels. Image was also very poor quality, which would normally not be a big deal as we are not big TV users. Except when confined to indoors. Something that was particularly disappointing was the fact that there was no recycling bins to recycle. We were forced to throw plastic containers and glass in the garbage :-( or drive to a location where we can drop off our recycling (bins in strip malls). Missing : a basic broom, toilet cleaner, many light bulbs burned and need to be replaced, dish rack. Pros : proximity to the beach (when conditions are favourable ) Washer and dryer Big living room and dining room area, feels very airy Tranquil and quiet area Good timely response with owners Suggestions : lawn treatment for mosquitoes and/or enclosed lanai style
