This board walk property fit my expanded family perfectly.
My family and I (8 of us) have been staying on the boardwalk for our annual January staycation for the past 10 years. We have stayed in a couple different properties and this one was the best price and fit.
We do all our own cooking, the kitchen was well equipped, and big enough to fit a few people.
There was plenty of seating at the dining room table and the living room.
There’s a wonderful area outside to sit that is elevated above the boardwalk so you can see everything, everyone and the beautiful sunsets.
There were only two drawbacks that I can think of, but definitely not deal breakers. The unit above, if there’s people in it, can be very noisy. The gals that stayed above us were relatively quiet, but we could hear chairs moving and toilet flushing. The other thing was that the windows were not cleaned before our visit.
One of the perks this place has is the tandem garage. Parking at the beach is at a premium and hard to find at times. I was able to fit my SUV, with a little help from my friends, and all of our bikes were secured inside.
Overall, my family and I have a greed that we will be staying here again!

This place was an absolute perfect getaway. We’ve stayed at a few different spots along Mission Beach and the entire family agreed this one was the best.
The patio that sits right along the boardwalk certainly was the highlight. San Diego has so much to offer but it felt like we’d be doing ourselves a disservice to leave the beach house, so instead we enjoyed the tranquility of watching the waves.
Aside from the patio/ balcony that were amazing, the house itself was amazing. Many places along Mission Beach feel outdated but that’s not the case here. Beds were amazingly comfortable. The kids loved the bunk beds. Kitchen was perfect for any size family. Plenty of room throughout so nobody feels cramped. Bathrooms were spotless and updated. It was also a pleasant luxury to be able to fit two vehicles in the garage (a rarity for this area).

Love this house for the location and the size for a small family. There are tons of BIG houses that are very pricey in Mission Beach, and that are simply out of our price range. This one was perfect! Good price for an amazing local. We had a few issues, the door code wouldn’t work initially, a smoke detector went off, and hot water was turned off, but all were attended to fairly promptly. The house could use some updating and better cleaning, but overall we were so happy! My family from the Midwest thoroughly enjoyed their time in San Diego.

I would not recommend this location until needed upgrades were made. Many of the windows were broken and screens were not available. We reported this to the property manager the first day of our stay. The screens were not replaced until the last day of our trip. Bathroom wall was cracked and peeling with an odd odor. Windows in the master bath were so old, we could not pull them up and keep them open. This was especially unpleasant due to the warm days. The place had a musty smell probable due to the in ability to air it out. The downstairs patio screen door repeatedly kept coming off the track. The kitchen did have salt and pepper and a couple of spices that were so old that they had hardened. The faucet to the sink was broken. Several of the bathroom sinks were cracked. Very few amenities were available in the kitchen. Probable the worse part of the whole experience was the very narrow garage. It was very difficult getting in and out of it. Needless to say we will not be returning. I'm very disappointed in VBRO as well as the host for such a poor representation of this property on the web page.

We have been going to Mission Beach every year for years. We used to stay at one place that ended up being turned into a condo. Since then, we have been bouncing from house to house trying to find another permanent spot and this one is currently at the top of the list! Beautiful home and quick communication with property manager when something was wrong.

This beach house is on the boardwalk. It was clean, spacious and had everything that was needed. We enjoyed the two level patio with a large table, chairs and umbrella. My family and I had a fun time and we'll be back.

Property needs TLC and a good cleaning crew. All kitchen pots, pans need replacing. A working can opener is a must. The outdoor grill needs to be replaced.

This beach house is in the best location. Walking and biking distance to shopping and dining. The inside was roomy and well furnished. The best part is being right on the beach!

Close enough to the ocean to listen to the waves as you fall asleep, and still very close to everything we had on our agenda (Pacific Beach, Mission Bay, Downtown). One thing we all noticed was just how comfortable the beds were, really soft sheets and it never got too hot or too cold. Parking was just slightly tighter than expected, but still not a big deal. There is rust, but it doesn’t affect the stay at all, the house is still very very clean. All in all this is the best house we’ve stayed at in San Diego.

Can't say enough about the location. I fell asleep and woke up to the sound of the ocean each day. Great for people and wave watching as the condo is right on the boardwalk. Check in and check out was easy and the garage fit 2 small cars well - good thing, because parking is a challenge. The place could use an update. There was a rusty grate in the hallway upstairs and the sliding glass door in the great room was dirty and streaked with a broken seal which clouded the inside of the windows and did not offer the clear view that was expected. We were able to ignore the negative for the amazing location. The owners and management company were easy to deal with.

The location was excellent but the house was not maintained- fans and beach chairs were dirty and rusted - windows were broken - inside house vents were covered in rust - place just felt dirty so we stayed out all day just not to be there!

The location on a quiet section of beach was so peaceful. It was a short walk to Belmont Park and a yummy bakery the other way. The unit was clean but it is dated and can use some TLC. We had an issue with the TV and garage code which was addressed by the second day of our stay. We would stay here again because of the location and bedroom/bathroom numbers.

Location was terrific and floor plan was very open with a nice patio space but it is a little run down. Living room furniture is extremely uncomfortable. When sitting on the couch you fall in a hole no matter where you sit and the little barrel chairs are hard ans uncomfortable. The main TV is small and the volume goes up and down on its own. The window blinds don't work properly and won't raise up. All the windows are extremely dirty which is sad with the amazing ocean view. If the owner would put a little more into the furnishings for the comfort of their guests this would be a 5 star location.

Outside steps were a little dangerous for 18 month old but was manageable. The view is amazing. The house was spacious. We had an amazing time. some furniture and TVs was different (older/smaller) than the pictures but otherwise as expected. Some broken drawers in the fridge but worked fine for storage and lots of space. overall, we would recommend.

So happy we stayed here! Location is best in San Diego. Boardwalk right outside the door and walkable to Belmont as well as breakfast options. We would have preferred it have a few more kitchen supplies on hand and toilet paper. The layout of the house was great! Having 3 bedrooms, it would have been nice if the living room sat more people. The adjoining rental (next door that is above) was very easily heard just walking around. The beach is less crowded than other spots and we were extremely pleased overall.

Cooking and eating utensils were not clean. Barbecue needed major cleaning to be used Some doors and windows not operable. We found cockroaches in closet upstairs. Kitchen cabinet door hinge was broken. The external structure had numerous areas where the paint and stucco had corrosion and degradation.

The rental process was easy - and we booked just several weeks out. Ran into an issue with the grill and they resolved it the same day. Suggestion for the property manager is that usability of the grill is checked prior to each rental-the need to have the grill fixed did unexpectedly impact our dinner plans. Beachfront properties are always going to show more ‘wear and tear’ due to the salt and water - so proceed with that in mind. There were lots of ‘extras’ like a high chair, booster seat and Pack and Play which was nice as we had a 2 year old. Lots of beach chairs as well. Location is ideal - close to Mission Beach restaurants but away from the more public beaches. Garage is narrow (as noted) so had to load and unload our Mazda CX-5 in the alley. There is limited indoor seating in the living area so keep that in mind if you will have the max size group. We would rent the property again!

We had a great time and really enjoyed this property. The furnishings are ample, albeit a bit worn. Extra blankets, sufficient bathroom towels, and bedrooms stocked with laundry baskets, towels, and a lot of closet space. Fans were available but we did not need them. The laundry and dryer have a large capacity! Kitchen is well stocked- faucet handle worked but the detachable faucet wand did not properly sit in the faucet. Beach towels, beach chairs, and beach toys (sand toys, balls, boogie boards) were plentiful. Garage was big enough for two mid-size SUVs with a few inches to spare. There were a number of games and puzzles to use as well. Living space is large and we had a wonderful time! We are already looking forward to going back to this condo again.We loved the patio and upstairs balcony- the walk through between the buildings does amplify noise, especially into the second/back bedroom. The side of the house with the kids bedroom/ bunks had a broken screen so that window needed to remain closed- that was a bit of a let down.Owner was extremely helpful and communicative about our plans being potentially changed by the shelter-in-place orders and closures.

This was an incredible beach vacation for our family! Beach & boardwalk views couldn't be better. Direct beach access to incredible white sand beach, surfers and crashing waves! Outdoor patio with dining table and settee was our favorite place to hang out. The house was great, beds were comfortable with extra pillows to choose from. Beach towels, chairs, boogie boards to use. Clean and comfortable! Some screens need attention but didn't affect our stay. Garage long and narrow large enough for 2 midsize cars/suvs, but didn't need them to get around. Excellent location, midway between Mission Beach & Pacific Beach shops & dining, easy 10 minute walk on the boardwalk or beach either way! We look forward to returning soon!!
