Patterned after the turn-of-the century New England shingle-style houses of the area on the exterior, the spacious and completely modern interior boasts an amazing array of custom features throughout, mid-century modern furniture and an eclectic assortment of artwork. The Bray Hill House was custom-built to take advantage of its spectacular mountain setting, with impressive views of three mountain ranges and the Mount Washington and Connecticut River Valleys, and overlooking the small town of Jefferson. Our home’s prime location in the heart of the White Mountains of northern New Hampshire gives our guests easy access to all of the region’s many activities and attractions. STYLE NOTES Country contemporary with a stylish vibe in a secluded and private location, this is a light, open, playful but functional home with sophisticated touches, like the unusual lilac-colored stair and balcony railings, floating staircase, and awesome double chimney fireplace. The stained glass elements in the home’s gable sparkle when the house is lit up at night. Bright accents throughout add pops of color to the home’s neutral palette. The home’s lower level is all about sociability with plenty of space for families, friends, kids and dogs to mix and mingle, cook and eat, while the upper level provides quiet spaces for sleeping, reading and quiet conversations. French doors, multiple windows and the spacious wraparound deck bring the gorgeous views right indoors. BEDROOMS Located on the second level with beautiful views of the natural beauty outside, the home’s three bedrooms comfortably sleep 6. Each room is outfitted with a queen size bed with luxury linens and pillows, two roomy dressers and large closets, along with all the essentials you need for a carefree stay: shampoo and conditioner, soaps, bath and hand towels, hair dryer, iron, ironing board and more. The master bedroom features an en-suite bath with jetted tub and a private, enclosed porch; the other bedrooms share a separate, full bathroom. A third bathroom is located on the main level. CHEF’S KITCHEN AND DINING The chef’s kitchen is equipped with both an Aga and Jenn-Air range and a Subzero refrigerator/freezer. The large center island and surrounding countertops provide plenty of prep space, and an army of small appliances — KitchenAid stand mixer, automatic rice cooker, drip coffee maker, electric kettle, Instant Pot and more — stand at the ready. Pull up a chair at the breakfast nook at one end of the kitchen for a meal with a view, perch on the stools at the wet bar adjacent to the kitchen for a drink or a snack, or gather family and friends around the formal dining room table with seating for 6-12. CUSTOM TOUCHES The home’s dramatic focal point — the stunning see-through, brick, double-chimney Russian fireplace — is a fine spot to warm up on a chilly day. Other custom touches include rich cherry and ash wood finishes throughout, a two-person indoor dry sauna, lots of handsome built-in cabinetry, and wood-beamed ceilings in the bedrooms. AMENITIES Amenities include air conditioning throughout the home, 40 amp car charger, a washer and dryer, flat-screen 4k smart TV, Google WiFi mesh network, Blu-ray/DVD, family-friendly movies and video games. We provide a full range of equipment for children, including two teen cots, two toddler cots, two Pack ‘n Plays, a baby gate, plastic dinnerware, and step stools. Guests have full access to the grounds, including ¾ of a mile of nature trails around the house that follow stone walls, an outdoor fire pit and horseshoe pit, gas grill, deck seating, and outdoor patio seating for six. This house is incredibly unique and impeccable. We very much enjoyed our time here and wish we were there longer views. Views are out of this world, the kitchen is the best stocked kitchen of any rental we’ve ever had. The game room and bar were a nice touch and fun for all. We will be back for sure!

Our stay in Jefferson was excellent, everything just as the listing describes and more. We had six adults, two kids, and two dogs. Everyone loved it. Great basecamp for Bretton Woods with some hiking and sledding available on the property. Communication with the host was easy and they responded quickly. We would certainly come again!

What an amazing property, and fantastic location. One of the best properties we’ve stayed at. The house has everything you could possibly need for staying with children, or cooking a Thanksgiving meal away from home like we did. Israel even had a beautiful tablecloth and napkins set aside for us. Well maintained trails around the property were clearly marked and a great way to explore with the kids. The property was easy to access, great communication, and when we couldn’t figure something out (user error!) Israel was very responsive and came and helped us. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Three long time friends on their first visit to New England in search of beauty, charm, breathtaking views, unique but luxurious lodging, quaint real life adventures. Found it all and more at the Bray Hill House. The house , grounds, and apple barn one of our favorite parts of the whole trip . Many thanks to Israel for sharing his family home and seeing to all our needs.

We stayed for three nights with my sister and brother in law. The home was very welcoming. The East porch facing the mountain range is the spot to congregate for hours. The home has amazing woodwork and the fireplace is a work of art. We have booked another visit in October! Thank you

We had a wonderful time. The view of the mountains is stunning. We were close to many wonderful hikes and there was plenty to do even when it rained. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time. There was something for everyone in our 60 year age range. Israel was a great host and provided lots of information ahead of time. No surprises and many good suggestions that we were able make good use of. Well stocked kitchen where you can prepare family meals easily.

We spent a week at Bray Hill House just staring at the majestic views and sipping coffee. We were lucky enough to catch a big storm sweeping in from the mountains complete with hail, and we even saw a bear on the first day of the trip! The house was perfect for everyone in our family - we had a 6 year old, 12 year old, two 40-somethings and my mom who is 68, and all of us loved the house for different reasons. I would absolutely recommend staying here - I can’t wait to come back in the fall or winter to see the mountains again!

We love this home. It is easy to see that it was built with love. The craftsmanship is impressive. The house is maintained with that same care. Everything you need without the clutter!! (And I do not like clutter.) The views need to be seen to believe. Israel is a friendly and thorough host. He even came on Easter to help us with our impressive lack of TV tech. (Embarrassing) We can't wait to come back.

The first day my 13 year old was asking when we could come back! The house has everything you could need and was very comfortable for the 4 of us and our small dog. I enjoyed cooking and baking in the kitchen. The host has left detailed information on everything in the house and area, so we never had any questions or issues. highly recommend!

The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you needed. Two ovens which is so great for a big dinner. Our pup loved roaming the grounds around the house. Lots to do inside the house with music, streaming, books, and a piano to enjoy. Loved the house!! Definitely will return!

The pictures could never do justice to this gorgeous property. Everything you could possibly need is available for you and was very well thought out. The kitchen was a dream to work in. Even though it was in the 60’s in November we still used the gorgeous fireplace once because we couldn’t let the opportunity go to waste. We plan to return ever year!

The host, Israel, couldn’t have been more accommodating, and the property is perfectly appointed and fully stocked with everything we needed and more. The on-site trails and outdoor spaces were perfect for us since we had our dog who loves exploring in the woods. The inside of the house is spacious and comfortable with great views from every room, and the extras like the sauna and gourmet kitchen really elevated our vacation. We’d love to stay here again!

There’s no other way to say it: This is one of our family’s favorite places we’ve ever stayed. The setting is truly remarkable and the house is magnificent with so much character and so many features and spots to enjoy inside and out. Israel truly takes great care in managing this property, as the attention to detail is evident everywhere you turn. He also takes a personal interest in the experience of his guests, which is always appreciated and was evident in the multiple ways he went above and beyond for our family, right down to personally delivering s’mores ingredients that my kids loved. We can’t wait to come back to Bray Hill House and can’t recommend it enough!

Upon arrival, we knew this property was going to become one of our favorite. Words cannot do justice to fully describe the beauty inside and out. My husband and I are always on the go, but we found ourselves sitting on the back deck, mesmerized by the home’s surround.
The home was lovely and was beyond equipped to meet all our needs. A great deal of thought must have gone into making guests feel welcome.
The proximity to all of the wonderful adventures in this area was ideal, and having this grand home and it’s mountainous backdrop to return to each evening was something we looked forward to throughout our stay. The sunrise over the top of the range was spectacular.
We truly enjoyed everything about this home and hope to return soon.

We loved our monthlong stay at Bray Hill House and Israel was a gracious host. Beautiful view of the Presidential Range. Waking up to birdsong instead of traffic sounds. An amazing, fully equipped home with walls of windows to bring the outdoors in. We both worked part of the time and the WiFi was very reliable for online video meetings. We hiked to waterfalls, took the Cog Railway to the top of Mt Washington and the tram to the top of Cannon Mountain, and rode our bikes along the Franconia Trail and by Pondicherry Nature Preserve. We even got in a couple rounds of golf! Plenty to do in the area, and we equally loved spending quiet time at the house. Definitely a special place!

This property offered amazing views all day! The kitchen is to die for! The sauna came in handy on the cold nights!!!!! This house has a ton to offer and the basement is surprising (not shown in the pics)(ping pong table and cool "medieval/military room/wine cellar)! I enjoyed my daily hikes on the driveway! I hope we can return again! Thanks for everything, Israel! :)

In 20 years of HomeAway/VRBO style holidays n the US, this was simply the best ever for my wife and I.
We originally booked this house for May 2020 for my 50th birthday, but had to cancel at very short notice because, well, pandemic. Israel was kind enough, despite the utterly sensible cancellation policy, to refund the full rental amount. I vowed then that I would rebook ... and, holy whatsits, I was NOT disappointed. (Thank You Israel - "the measure of a person is how they conduct themselves in times of adversity"; you came through as a true gentleman, and it will always be appreciated).
The views from the house - stunning.
The kitchen - stunning. Everything you could ever need, and more. How many ovens and grill-tops do you need? 2? done! A random piece of cookware? It's there ...
The Russian Stove - stunning. It ate logs like you wouldn't believe, but warmed the place impressively well.
The house - everything you see on VRBO is an understatement. Perfectly appointed (and then some). The manager/owner (Israel) was super responsive and the whole place was kitted out like nowhere I've ever seen before. Other reviews mention 'attention to detail' - I can only confirm how much effort has been put into this home. Clean. Tidy. Awesomely appointed - we didn't want to leave, and never would if Israel ever put Bray Hill House on the market! (Israel, call me, you have my number).
Location - Stunning. Private, quiet, with long dog walks from the house (and yes, the house is as dog friendly as the site says - we took our 4 hounds with us for 2 weeks and they had a blast). Every thought into dog friendliness had been made, including poo bags, dog towels, bowls, the works!
For those who wonder about internet connectivity in such a location, relax. I happily worked via Zoom and the other tools with no issues while there - best office ever!
Just book it. I'll personally provide a bottle of the finest (something) to anyone who is not happy with the place, after a serious discussion (ok, argument) about how deluded you might be.
Best. House. Ever.
