Spent an incredible week here - the pictures of the views and grounds don't do it justice. The barn has all the character of a well loved family vacation home with a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and cozy working fireplace. Felt very private and the private beach was just beyond the field. The island was very quiet and serene in the off season - there was a coffee shop that had fall hours with delicious baked goods and yummy coffee. Cannot recommend the barn enough if you are looking for a magical, slow paced and cozy break.

What an amazing place! Islesboro is a gem of an island offering all the magic of Maine without the crowds. The Barn was a perfect place to stay on our first trip to the island. It was clean and well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed (and more). As someone who loves to cook, this was a wonderful bonus. The beds were comfortable and inviting. The sheets were 100% cotton, which seems a rarity in vacation rentals these days. There were puzzles and games for rainy days and cozy couches for reading or staring out at the water. The Barn sits on a wonderful property. We loved sipping coffee on the back porch each morning. It is quiet and feels like a world away from everything. We were only there for a week, but we did take the opportunity to walk many of the trails on the island. Roger marked some of the best walks and we made sure to hit them all. He also suggested hitting up the ice cream store in Dark Harbor. We did so early on and ended up there almost every afternoon. We also loved The Fen bakery, the farmer’s market (goats, fresh veggies, and a local mycologist), and the Island Market (they have take away pizza). I’m glad to have found this place and will definitely keep it in mind when we next visit Maine. Thanks, Roger and Maddie for sharing your beautiful barn and for being such wonderful hosts!

My family (me, my wife, our four daughters, my parents, and our Siberian Husky) couldn't have asked for a more peaceful place to recharge for a week. Roger and Maddie were extremely gracious hosts who made themselves available to answer questions, advise on attractions, and provide amenities. The island was beautiful and secluded, and we loved every minute of it. Five Stars.

Really a lovely space to be in, all together in one big open plan. Big french doors on the water side, nice deck, nice big backyard leading down to a quiet cove near the ferry on islesboro. We had our two dogs with us and the neighbors were far enough away, so we didn't feel too worried about her running to their houses and bothering them. The place feels very private and comfortable. Well furnished kitchen too, nice fireplace, basically everything you need for good family vacation time. Roger and Maddie were really kind and welcoming, offering tips on exploring the island and personal connections. Couldn't ask for more!

This was our first time on Islesboro and booked with little knowledge of the area, just dreams of getting away with our family. Our stay at the barn was everything we wanted and needed. Roger and Maddie were exceptional and informative hosts. It was a treat to get to know them and their story. The accommodations were well kept and fully stocked. We explored several trails on the island collecting treasures and foraging for berries. A custom cruise with quicksilver to explore some remote islands was a highlight of the trip. The island is home to 2 well stocked markets and of course our fill of ice cream at Dark Harbor which we visited most days. Thank you Roger and Maddie (and Lucy) for the love you've poured into your home and property and the love you showed our family while we were fortunate enough to experience your little slice of heaven.
