Our newly renovated Cottage at Stumpy Creek rests on an over one acre flat, shady grass lot in a quiet cove on Lake Norman. Dine out on the large deck, sunbath on the floating dock, explore the lake in our 2 kayaks and swim in the peaceful cove near Lake Norman State Park. Launch your boat from nearby Stumpy Creek Boat Landing, and dock it beside our newly renovated dock. You will love the tranquil setting, but you are just minutes away from great dining and shopping! We just celebrated the 50th anniversary in our family’s home on Lake Norman. We are delighted to share this newly renovated 3200+ SF cottage with you. The bonus room and sleeping loft give just the right space to spread out and have some private space, too! I know that each custom detail will accommodate your family and group's needs. You will love the large deck and custom landscape in the beautiful back yard. There is plenty of room for games in the spacious backyard. Enjoy the patio and fire pit by the lake! Walk down the custom stone steps into the lake or jump off the floating dock!

Stayed for Thanksgiving holiday with family. The house and location were perfect. Beautifully decorated, new and clean. The kitchen was perfectly stocked, even for making a big Thanksgiving dinner. We are already planning when to come back in the summer to enjoy the lovely lake! We highly, highly recommend this property!

We rented the cottage so that our adult children/spouses could attend a local wedding. 3 out of 4 of our children are currently, serving in the US military. ( as well as my husband) we needed a large enough place to stay with a very relaxing atmosphere. This cottage exceeded our expectations! Not only very spacious but absolutely everything you need for enjoying the down time. From kayaking, to swimming, relaxing near the fire pit. Just an amazing stay! The owners were very accommodating and this place is pristine. Please take extra care of this special home. If we are lucky enough to all get together at the same time, again… this would be on our top list!

The home was recently renovated and it is gorgeous!!! Very spacious with 3 living areas and open kitchen great for accommodating a larger group. Lovely outdoor space with a big yard perfect for kids, outdoors activities and even has the option for a gas or natural wood fire. Oversized dock where we spent our days sunbathing, swimming and fishing.
Judy was great with communicating any info needed for our visit. She even provided recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. We had a very relaxing vacation and would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful lake rental!
Our family had a fantastic time at Judy's property on the lake. The house was clean and very well maintained. The property is beautiful and peaceful. We loved how quiet it was on the cove. After long days out exploring it was great to come back and relax by the lake. Judy was easy to work with and readily available for any questions. I would highly recommend this rental.

Amazing place to stay
This was such an amazing trip, our whole group wants to come back together and individually. Lake Norman was just the right mix between relaxing while still having tons of fun things to do. The property was fantastic, it was more than “just somewhere to sleep” and we really enjoyed being there. Highly recommended

Great weekend stay
We had a great long Easter weekend at the house. Enjoyed all the outdoor space, including the fire pit and deck. All the rooms were comfortable and spacious. Would definitely rent again.

Wonderful Lake House Stay
What a great weekend we had with family at this property. My family including multiple 80+ year olds had a great time despite rain and downpours almost the entire time. Property is spacious with multiple living/relaxing areas. All bedrooms on one floor with no stairs is wonderful for seniors.

Bass tournament rental
House was amazing my husband and I brought my 80 year old father and Friends to fish the Oakley big bass tournament. Everything was perfect except the fishing could've been better I will definitely stay again.

Relaxation and family time...just what our souls needed!
The Cottage at Stumpy Creek was perfect! We brought our groceries with full plans to hang out at the house and water the entire time. The kitchen had every utensil, pan, dish, etc. that you can think of as did the deck storage with yard and water toys. There’s items that we brought that didn’t even come out of the truck! With 4 adults and 2 children, the space and layout was very nice. We have great family memories now made here. Thank you to the Newlin’s for allowing us the opportunity to experience their family cottage on Lake Norman. We can‘t wait to come back!

*WONDERFUL RENTAL!*
Judy’s lake house is incredible! Our family enjoyed 4 nights at her beautifully renovated home and cannot wait to go back. The open concept is great for families especially the kiddos. 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms provides plenty of space for everyone. What was most impressive was how well stocked this rental was — Judy thought of everything from all kitchen utensils, pack and play, appliances, soaps, sunscreens, indoor toys, and outdoor toys. We brought our boat, tube, lily pad, etc and could have left all of that at home because she has it all! On top of all of this it was definitely one of the cleanest rentals we’ve ever stayed at. Thank you, Judy and your family for creating such a wonderful escape and for sharing it with the world. We can’t wait to go back!!!

A wonderful place!
My family and I stayed here for a safe COVID get-away. It was truly perfect! The house is wonderful! Very clean, all the supplies we needed, great design. The access to the lake and to Lake Norman State Park were perfect. We hiked in the state park each day and spent the afternoon swimming and enjoying the dock. I would highly recommend this and hope we can come back soon. And the owners were lovely - very nice people.

Quiet lake getaway
What a gem! The house, especially the kitchen, were fully stocked and inviting. We quickly felt at home for our long weekend. It was also a great outdoor space; our kids loved swimming off he dock in the quiet cove. My son is asking everyday when we can return.

Best stay we've ever had...
I've been using VRBO and AirBnb as hosts and renters since 2013. We've stayed all over the country and had really great stays. This stay was the absolute best of them all.
Judy is a FANTASTIC host.
Everything from the arrival experience to check out was GREAT. This house was so much better than the pictures. Immediately upon walking in the view is PERFECTION. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The screened in porch and deck are DREAMY. The kitchen has everything you could need.
Judy is an incredibly thoughtful host. All the bathrooms had extra amenities like sunscreen, toothpaste and aloe. How kind!
The sheets are soft, the towels are plush...even the toilet paper is better than 95% of all other rentals.
If you are looking for a lake home experience, with a beautiful yard, warm water then this is BEST house this is for you.

This lake house is amazing! Our stay was everything we could have asked for. Great communication and responsiveness with the owner, beautiful remodeled home, stocked with everything you would need for a stay, very clean (which is hard to find when renting on vacation now days), great views of the cove and lake, perfect location to near restaurants/shops, great spot on the lake, I could go on and on! We would definitely recommend and hope to return!

Awesome trip
The house was even nicer in person vs what you can see in pictures. The dock was perfect for us to swim off of and paddle board around. The location is great too, we would definitely stay here if we returned to lake Norman, no doubt

Perfect Family Vacation
Our stay at the Stumpy creek cottage was perfect. We had two toddlers with us and the yard was perfect for them to run around in. They also loved the easy access into the warm lake water. The covered boat dock was also very nice to have. The owners were also very nice and helpful with any questions we had.

Quiet cove - great location close to everything you need
We totally enjoyed our stay in Mooresville. The owners were so helpful and responsive. The lake is beautiful and we had a great view from the deck. The cove just perfect to keep our boat in a covered boat dock. My granddaughters totally enjoyed the floating dock. Easy access to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. House was so cute - more than enough room for our family. Time went by so fast we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back to Mooresville. Thank you so much

Perfect lake experience, great cottage, great host.
This is the place. The cottage perfectly accommodated four adults and three children. The cove is ideal for swimming in the warm water, the dock is clean and practical as the hub for taking off on a boat or jet ski, and even the neighbors are cool as can be. We stayed outside from sun up to sun down, got a bit too sunburned, and already marked the calendar for next year. Judy is wonderful and so willing to acoomodate however possible. We searched for weeks planning this vacation. You probably are as well. Stop and book now.

Quaint, quiet lakeside home
We enjoyed our time at the lakefront cottage. It was quiet, close to parks with a short drive to local restaurants and marinas. If you are traveling by car make sure to take your own rafts, fishing poles and toys for the lake. Lots of great fishing right out the back door.
