Report all maintenance problems to the guest coordinator. Do not attempt to fix anything yourself, however, please take reasonable action to secure the problem as not to incur any more unnecessary damage. Air Conditioning: We find that setting the thermostat below 70 degrees does not cool the house quicker and tends to freeze up the unit preventing the air conditioning from working at all for a day or two. Therefore, for your comfort, please do not set the thermostat below 70 degrees during your stay. I and my families like the house with 9 bedrooms everything was clean and nice!!

We had an incredible family reunion at this rental house! The spacious accommodations comfortably housed all six families, providing a perfect blend of privacy and shared spaces with hang out spaces on each floor. The beautiful surroundings and lake views added to the overall charm. The hot tub wasn’t in ideal shape but that didn’t detract from our visit. It was the ideal setting for creating lasting memories with loved ones. Highly recommend for large group gatherings!

We had a wonderful time at Rock of Ages! The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a group of 8 couples. We enjoyed the large dock, especially the upper level! The cove is quiet calm. One day we just hung out by our dock! We loved that every bedroom had at least a full or queen sized bed and enough bathrooms for each couple to have their own. ( most are ensuites). The house is very close to Powell Valley Marina which has been recently updated and made the launching of our boats super easy and convenient! I would make sure that if you have someone in your party that needs to work, that all the guests know to stay off the Wi-Fi during that time as it is very limited. The hosts Jon and Dena were very responsive and helpful with this issue and any other questions we had. We would most definitely consider this one again!

This is our third year at Norris Lake and Rock of Ages, in our opinion, is the best location. The cove is beautiful with lots of privacy and very little boat traffic. There's a large dock with a huge upper deck. Getting to the dock from the house is a little tough once you're down the main stairs, the other set of stairs are very narrow and the gravel was difficult for some. The kitchen is well stocked (knives could use sharpening). The house was clean. We can't wait to come back!

Home infested with bats!
We checked into Rock of Ages as scheduled on a Saturday afternoon. By that evening at about 8, several bats had been spotted in the house and let outside. By the time we found the 12th bat inside, we realized the bats were inside the walls and ceiling. We could hear them scratching the walls. We could hear them in the bathroom vents. None of us slept that night. I was terrified the bats had an entry point in our bedroom or bathroom. Luckily they didn’t so we only had to deal with the tiny claw sounds about a foot behind our heads inside the wall. It was loud. And we are talking hundreds of bats. Several were also found dead around and inside the property the next day. Infestations happen and are often unavoidable. However, our qualm is with the extensive nature of the infestation. We do not think it is possible for a reasonable property owner or manager to be unaware of the infestation. At the very least house keeping would have notified them of dead bats or bat waste. Based on a few holes cut in the walls, it looks like the problem had been investigated already. To give you and idea of the terror, a bat popped out of a couch my son was laying on. A bat popped out from under the air hockey table. And instead of giving us a heads up, we checked in and then were without inhabitable lodging during a holiday week. This was a family reunion that was 2 years in planning and budgeting. And not only was the first few days of the trip derailed by bats, we also incurred SUBSTANTIAL costs associated with procuring replacement lodging and the food we had to throw out. If the property owners would have just let us know they had a bat problem ahead of our scheduled trip, we would have been able to mitigate our monetary damages. And I probably wouldn’t have bothered with a negative review because they would have been kind enough to give us time to plan accordingly.

Family Fun
Everything was wonderful. The only recommendations we can make is putting a railing of some sort on the sets of steps leading down to the dock.

Our group of friends have been coming to Norris Lake for a few years now and this is by far the best cabin we've stayed in. Plenty of space, great location on the lake, and very accommodating hosts. The top deck on the dock was a favorite place for our group of mostly 20 somethings to hang out. Can't recommend this place enough

Overall, our group of 10 women had a great weekend and stay at Rock of Ages. The reservation process worked well. Jon was very helpful in answering questions before we arrived and was committed to us having a nice stay. The check-in process was easy. The home had a great layout for multiple people or families and the location on the quiet cove was great. We enjoyed our time just lounging on the upper boat dock and found this was a great time of year to visit the lake. We rented a pontoon one day and felt like we had the lake to ourselves, but the water was still warm enough to get in.
There were a few issues, mostly minor, and the property manager was accessible and did everything possible to immediately address them. I mention them in case these things matter to someone else. Upon checkin, the house phone and wifi weren't working. The equipment had been unplugged so this turned out to be an easy fix. We couldn't get any of the remote controls to work, but Alicia provided all new batteries by the next day. We replaced them and still couldn't get them to work, but perhaps it was user error. Instructions for the correct settings to operate the TV with Dish network would be a welcomed addition. The air hockey table in the lower level didn't work.
A bigger issue was the rodent poop between the mattress and box spring in one of the bedrooms. We discovered this when making up the bed upon arrival. This was reported but no amount of cleaning was going to convince the guest who was going to use that room to sleep on the bed. We recognize the house is in the woods and some insects and rodents are possible. We were just hopeful not to have them in the bedding. It rendered 1 of the 9 bedrooms unusable during our stay.
The other thing worth noting is that warm water was at a premium. Only some of the bathrooms had enough water pressure to take a shower and there seemed to only be enough warm water for 1-2 people to take a shower before we'd have to wait for it to heat up again. Not a major issue but if you have a larger group, this could be a problem.
Alicia did attempt reach me again during our stay to make sure everything was going ok, which was appreciated. My cell phone did not have a signal when I was at the house, so I wasn't able to connect with her, but I wanted to point out that she was accessible and made attempts to help us.
Overall, the issues we encountered didn't stop us from having a great time.

The location in a very quiet cove is awesome!
All the kids love the extra wide double decker dock !
There are 2 Marina's that are both within 5-10 minutes by boat .
And the house manager -Jon Trimbach has always responded back to us within 5 minutes !!

Family Reunion
We had a wonderful week on Norris Lake for our 2020 family reunion. Rock of Ages worked out well for our group of 28. Internet bandwidth was a bit challenging for a few in the group who had some work during the week. For the rest of us with a focus of being on the lake, the dock provided incredible access. Kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and floating in the quiet cove was great. We also rented boats and jet skis through the property manager which could not have been easier. They were at the dock when we arrived and we were able to leave them at the dock when we left. A return to Norris Lake will find us at Rock of Ages.

Only complaint on the property would be the WIFI, several young people still had to work and they would have to drive into town to a coffee shop.

Me and my large party were all able to find ample sleeping conditions in this spacious cabin. The wifi was a little shotty but that was overshadowed by how cool the property and dock were

The pictures on line really do not do this home justice.Everything about it is just simply perfect. We always rent houses when we go out of town, but I have never stayed in a home where the kitchen has been fully stocked like this one.It was a pleasure communicating with Mr.Jon, he made everything so easy and was always just a phone call away if we had questions.Thank you very much for this experience. We will definitely be back.
