Loved the area and the outdoor space. Living room furniture uncomfortable as were the loft beds. Wendy was very responsive to any problems with the unit and we enjoyed our stay.

We've stayed at the Aloha House before, so it was a bit like meeting an old friend. Thanks to Covid though, it's been 10 years since we last stayed! Still one of the best rentals in Napoopoo without a doubt. Recommended!

The Aloha house was very nice and the location was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped and Wendy kindly left some supplies for us. Wendy was very helpful and kind and we could contact her very easily (reply within half an hour). Would recommend to anyone and we will be returning if we stay in Captain Cook again! This was our second stay at the Aloha house it just gets better every time we return. Thank you Beth and Wendy your are the greatest.

Great to walk to kayak rentals on the captain cook cove. House was nice for the family. Huge wrap around deck was perfect for coffee and breakfast. Some things didn’t work during our stay but discussed with owner and she’ll be taking care of things.

We celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday and she got to snorkel every day. The kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. We loved the lanai and gardens and outdoor shower. There is a little path straight out to the ocean for sunsets, or just a few yards to Manini Beach for snorkeling. We rented kayaks at the cove for a day and took them out again at sunset. A short drive to 2-step. Such a perfect low-key getaway with family!!

This house has it all. You are literally going get what you paid for. This is not resort… it’s the Hawaiian experience!! Love the fact that we were able to kayak to go see Dolphins and to top it off you can kayak to the famous snorkeling spot. It’s does not have air conditioning however there are plenty of fans to cool you off. Remember it’s the jungle there so you will here a lot of nature around you. The house has a lot of snorkeling gear and other fun gear. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house. We will be back again.

Hidden treasure. Close to the water with excellent snorkeling. About 30 minutes from Kona airport.
Only downside was we had people who got motion sickness from driving up and down the winding roads. We did find a less curvy way to get to the house that took longer but kept the motion sickness at bay.

What a wonderful getaway! The house and location was amazing. Fun tropical jungle sounds in the evening and Mangini was a dream. We did a mix of cooking and eating out. Be sure to try Rebel Kitchen and yes, the Lilikoi cheesecake at the coffee shack lives up to its hype. Not ready to go home;)

Beautiful house off the beaten path and w/amazing access to Manini park & beach. We loved the house and setting, great for bird watchers, picnic lovers, and ocean watchers. Splendid sunsets w/in easy walking distance and the grounds are lush and feel mostly private.
The surf was too high for beginner snorkelers, but nearby 2 step was perfect.

First the pros: This location simply cannot be beat. If you're looking for each beach access, snorkling Kealakekua Bay, and Kona vibes, this is the place for you! We rented sea kayaks right around the corner and had the best snorkeling experience right there. There's an outdoor shower so it's easy to rinse you and your equipment on the way back. The garden has fruit trees you can enjoy, and the house is spacious with two separate rooms each with their own bath, and an open loft (with a great view!) with twin beds that would be perfect for older kids. The laundry room has a bunch of equipment for snorkeling and beach toys which was great too. And we were also close to Two Step snorkeling, a honeybee apiary where we had a great tour, a chocolate farm, and many coffee farms. There's a nice grocery store only 15 minutes away, and some great casual eats nearby too. Traveling with our 18-month old meant we needed to come up with a creative solution to blocking access to the circular staircase, which is NBD and to-be-expected for anyone with a toddler, but the lanai has a built-in gate at the top of the steps which was helpful. There's no dishwasher so be prepared for doing lots of dishes and using lots and lots of water for that. There are only two complaints: first that there's a serious fungus gnat problem. Once the sun goes down and you turn on any lights they swarm towards the light. If you're preparing/enjoying food in the evening prepare for them in your food, drinks, on the counter, table, etc... If your bedside lamps are on they are right there in bed with you. And if you're changing your baby's diaper and need to turn on the light to see they will land all over her body prompting you to invent a fun song called, "covered in bugs" so you don't freak out too much. They won't bite you, they're just a nuisance. I don't know where they're coming from, but some screens aren't fully installed so there are large gaps. We kept *all* food in the fridge and a clean kitchen so any other bug encounters were thankfully limited and what you'd expect in a tropical climate. Second is that checkout is 11am, and as we're running around trying to make sure the laundry is started per their checkout instructions, that the trash is taken out, that the car is packed, the baby is organized, we haven't forgotten anything, etc.. the property manager shows up at 10:20am. Now we feel rushed in an already hectic moment and that we need to leave pronto. Not ideal.

We loved our stay at the Aloha house! It has a great open air vibe and a well-stocked kitchen. Queen beds were comfy with high quality linens. A few (small) cons: no beach chairs for renter use, the outside shower was pretty much open to the very uncrowded street and the living room furniture was far from comfortable. These were small inconveniences during an overall excellent stay. 2 min walk to the beach, fall asleep to the ocean waves and island frogs, and sit on the lainai and simply relax! Communication with the owner was quick and easy. We hope to be back soon with our whole family.

We loved staying at this house for the Ironman World Championship. While pretty far from the race, it was a quiet escape from the crowds. The house was great and had everything we needed. The nearby water was so fun to swim in and the views are 10/10.

The Aloha House was exactly as advertised and was perfect for our family of 5 to celebrate recent college graduations. The location made lazy days easy with a short walk to excellent snorkeling at Manini Beach, and was a good base to make day trips into Kona or to Volcanoes National Park. Another amazing snorkel spot was very close by at Two Step just for variety. The Aloha House was comfortable and the amenities were all our family needed. Highly recommend this location and home and owner was very responsive and helpful with all our questions!

Paradise!
We love the Kealakekua Bay area. The Aloha House was an absolutely perfect place to stay and enjoy all that the area has to offer. The house is gorgeous and the management team was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend staying here! Be sure to say hi to Auntie Sandy's at Manini Beach. She is a local legend!!

Captain Cook for the win!
This house is a gem. Great outdoor patio. Stocked laundry room with beach toys. Comfortable soft beds. Well stocked kitchen with cooking tools. Clean, working grill. Outdoor shower. Great snorkeling nearby.
You wake up to roosters and birds (peaceful not annoying). The sound of waves crashing nearby to end the day. We enjoyed the board games a lot.
We will be back for sure. At least to say hi to Auntie Sandy at manini beach (nearby). She’s informative, kind, and adorable.

This house was perfect for two couples, we each had masters with baths. And the doors opening the house up to the wonderful lanai and beautiful view was perfect!! Short walk to kayak rentals or to the beach park. Would definitely rent again!! ✌🤙

Lovely Home
This home is well equipped and comfortable in a quiet neighborhood far away from busy tourist areas. The kitchen has absolutely everything, including a Ninja blender that came in handy for using the wonderful local fruits. We spent lots of time on the lanai, a large second level porch overlooking the back garden. The outdoor grill was in excellent. Having our own washer and dryer allowed us to pack light. We also used the beach umbrella as well as the rolling cooler almost daily. The multi setting ceiling fans indoors and out were also a plus.

Magical
If you're looking for a beautiful, serene experience away from the tourist hotspots, this is your place. The neighborhood is right on the ocean, quiet except for the sounds of the waves and nature. The pictures are spot-on.

Great location and stay
Our stay at the Aloha house was very enjoyable. It was a great location, just a short walk to Manini Beach, which is good for snorkeling. It is also great for sitting, relaxing, and watching the waves come in. (You can hear the waves from the house). You can rent kayaks nearby as well. The house was comfortable for the 6 of us, and when we had a couple of small issues, the caretaker responded quickly, and took care of them. We gave 4/5 stars for cleanliness mainly because the bathrooms could use some updating and the walls could use a good scrub and new paint. The lanai was comfortable and we enjoyed spending a lot of time out there. Overall a great stay and good experience! Would definitely come back!!

Aloha house was a clean comfortable place to stay in a less frenzied part of the Kona coast. The caretakers were helpful in communicating about and solving any problems we had (electrical outage caused by recent storm, wi-fi instructions that needed updating, answering check-out questions). We enjoyed limes and oranges from the trees in the garden, and marveled at the construction of outdoor spider webs. Manini beach is a stroll away, with easy access and great snorkeling and swimming. (lots of towels provided and an outdoor shower for use after returning from the beach). The house binder had lots of helpful information and suggestions about restaurants and places not to miss. The quietness of the neighborhood was periodically disrupted by very loud noisy leaf blowers, hedge clippers and power tools -- something we hadn't expected. (a minor complaint, as it happened three times when we were dining out on the lanai . . . including one morning at breakfast). But evenings were quiet (with only the frogs calling out). We would absolutely stay there again!

We loved just about everything with this house. Awesome is the best way to describe it, beach close and the outside shower. We really loved the house. Perfect location / comfortable place
Lovely accomodations that worked well for our multigenerational family. Although we were concerned about the privacy in the loft since it is open to the kitchen and living room, we found the amazing lanai to be the natural gathering place to hang out and eat so the loft was always a quiet space. The location was amazing - a peaceful neighborhood, with a tiny beach and great snorkeling just a block away.
