There is a water park in Fenwick Island called Thunder Lagoon (5 miles south) that has a lazy river, kiddie pool, and water slides. Lots of putt-putt golfing in area. Rehoboth Beach (12 miles north) and Ocean City, MD also have water parks and amusement parks with rides. Bethany Beach boardwalk area has restaurants, charming shops, toy stores, art galleries, arcade, volleyball and free concerts at the Gazebo bandstand. There is also a miniature golf course. Acres and acres of nature conservancy next to our community is perfect for strolling, biking and jogging! Looped trails and bridges are a relaxing way to get exercise and appreciate nature. Enjoy beautiful, unspoiled, picturesque views of preserved bay with many wild birds and plenty of shade. Don't miss this activity! (Trail heads east on Fred Hudson and then trails traverse their way through Bay Pine forest over bridges and maintained trails to the preserved bay and wet lands). There are also sunset and moon kayak paddles offered within a mile on the Indian River, which you can schedule through Eco Bay Kayak and SUP at James Farm Preserve Ecological Park. The sunsets are sensational. Kayaking in Delaware: Delaware has only 2,000 square miles, but with 117 miles of coastline, it has much to offer kayakers. In addition to beautiful launches at Cape Henlopen and Delaware Seashore state parks, there’s a lesser-known gem near South Bethany Beach. The three-mile-long Assawoman Canal, connecting the Indian River Bay (to the north) with the Little Assawoman Bay (to the south) is a charming, serene canal. The canal is a 35-foot-wide no-wake zone. Many sections have a lovely tree canopy that makes a green arch over the canal. It feels remote, offers shade and shelters paddlers from strong wind. The rental was perfect for celebrating Thanksgiving with family. The home is lovely....beautifully decorated, plenty of room to spread out, lots of seating, large well stocked kitchen, and nice size yard for our fur babies. Located in a gated community with a beautiful view of pond and fountain. Location was very close to many restaurants, shops, and, of course, the beach : ) . Grocery store conveniently located right across the street. Property manager was friendly, communicative and responded very promptly to questions.

With 6 adults and 6 young children we were in the perfect location. The pool was a very easy, lovely walk away and delightful. It was never crowed and allowed for evening swimming. The closeness of the grocery store was a definite advantage for a large group, who seemed to need grocery trips on a daily basis. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Family from across the country travelled to this fantastic gem of a home for our annual vacation.
The house is spacious, the screen room and decks were perfect to sit out and drink coffee on in the mornings or wine in the evening and the kitchen was very well stocked.
Speaking of stocked, everyone from our four year old paw patrol rod wielding little guy to our seasoned pros caught fish right off the dock out back. There were really nice sized blue gills and other sunfish and some bass. We were happy with our catches and so were the many
Osprey and Herons that we saw.
The location of the house is super convenient, close to stores, pharmacies and the beaches.
Beaches were super clean and not overly crowded and we went on the 4th of July.
You can't go wrong with this house! We will return.

We were able to get away with our kids and pups for a few night during the holiday season. It was exactly what we needed. We played games and visited the town of Bethany and Rehoboth. The house was super cozy and spacious. We loved the view of the water and really enjoyed the pool table. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Everything was clean. Definitely book this beautiful place.

Large house with room for everyone. The family room, kitchen and covered porch are just perfect for a large group to gather together. Everyone was comfortable in the house and had space to be both together and separate. We made good use of the sands chairs and beach toys provided by the owners. The house is about an 8 minute drive from the Bethany Beach beach boardwalk area and 25 minutes from the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. The gated community is nice and safe to walk around and the younger kids really enjoyed the community pool. We would love to come back again next year.

This house is spacious and the layout was ideal for our 3 generation family. Having a master bedroom suite on the first floor was very convenient. However, the air conditioning did not work in that area and the fan above the bed was set very high and could not be adjusted. The mattresses throughout the house were lumpy and saggy. When our teenage grandchildren tried to use the clubhouse facilities, they were harassed by a man saying he was on the board of the Homeowners' Association and he would call the police if they didn't leave. They had badges and were abiding by all the rules we had been given.

Garage disorganized with fishing poles with hooks on them too easily accessible to young children - one of my children got wrapped up in fishing wire with hook on the end. “Shared” boogie boards broken & unusable. We were there Friday afternoon till Monday morning. Owners came by both Saturday (@ dinner time) & Sunday - texted prior to coming BUT didn’t ask when would be convenient…..just showed up.
Entrance key replaced in lock box per instructions & pool passes (which I had to make request for) were placed in bowl on counter (per instructions) YET I received, call, text & VBRO message demanding to know where they were! Cleaners had used key & moved passes - no apology offered. Owner sent VBRO message 5 days after departure stating pool room needed to be repainted due to pool cue streaks & crayon marks on wall but admitted she hadn’t seen the wall - said she had pictures but said pictures not shared with me. Several wall marks noted all over house! Grill was great (used once). Very disappointing experience!

Enjoyable family getaway.
House was very comfortable and location is close to stores and beach. (Very nice grocery store in walking distance.) We stayed in the winter and could still enjoy the fountain view, walking around property and onsite basketball hoop. The owner was very responsive to questions and suggestions for the area as well as quick to address a plumbing issue. Lots of kitchen gear and seating for everyone. One suggestion would be just including sheets and towels in pricing but this doesn’t seem to be included in this beach area. Overall really nice location & house and seems like it would definitely be fun in the summer.

The property is exactly as described. Clean, well equipped house and all of the rooms have ample space and are well maintained. The community that its in, is well maintained and groomed and quiet for a home 1.7 miles from beach. You can enjoy the house and property or you are a quick car ride to the town and a number of different beach experiences. The owners expect you to care for the property, which shows--- feels like a friend lent you their house for the week. Even beach equipment is supplied. I have been renting from VRB0 for 10 years and this is was best managed property.

Upon driving into the development I was so impressed. Just gorgeous...it was a gated community with a gym and pool that we used. Deb was very accommodating and kind whenever I had questions. Honestly, the home and community are prettier than the pictures.

Beautiful house in lovely community. Our large group of 12 were very comfortable.
The only issues were that the dishes were all put away filthy. We had to run everything through the dishwasher. The gas grill was a disaster and could not be used. It was so covered in grease that it flamed even after propane was shut off.
