The Island Inn was designed with your vacation in mind, every detail was considered to insure you are able to relax and enjoy. The Inn is a lake front private home that you can call your own. The lake front wrap around deck is a great place to entertain, unwind or watch the sunset over the lake. Get away and relax in this peaceful and tranquil home on Otter/Sylvan Lake in Oakland County Michigan. This home has been meticulously renovated with all new furnishings ( square feet of 2-story space including a finished basement, 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 full kitchens, and 3 door walls that lead out to a lake front wrap around deck! The master suite has it's own private lakefront balcony and a corner jetted tub - a retreat within a retreat! This incredible vacation home will sleep up to 9 guests comfortably all in beds (9th is a roll-away and can go in any room). Amenities include; Lake front, lake views from almost every room in the house, gas grill, 2 natural wood burning fireplaces, and docks to fish from. The home is located in Waterford, Mi, 10 miles from DTE Energy Music Theater (Summer concerts), 5 miles from the Palace of Auburn Hills, Pine Knob Ski and Snowboard Resort, 10 miles to downtown Birmingham, 7 miles from Great Lakes Crossings Outlet Mall, 30 miles to downtown Detroit (and the casinos!), and within a 10 minute drive or less to tons of shopping, dining and night life! Bring your own boat/lake toys - docks available for your use. Paddle Boards, Pontoon Boat, etc. available for rental.

The property was clean and very nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked. The deck was spacious and very relaxing. We enjoyed ourselves and would rent again in the future.

Visited with family from all over and used this as a central spot for fun outdoor days and visits to the Henry Ford. This lake house was worth the drive because it gave us the relaxing spot every night to enjoy each other. Would love to come back in the future!

We had a great time at the LAKEHOUSE! It was beautiful and we had plenty of room to relax and enjoy each other! It was close to everything! The weather could have been better but maybe next time mother nature will be kinder! Love Michigan!

Thank you for such a great home to stay at. We are from the West Coast and came to Michigan to see family. The Lake House was perfect for us. We enjoyed the views, fishing for northern pike in the lake, and watching the fireflies. We had plenty of room and coffee on the deck was a morning treat. All the surrounding plants on the property were a very nice touch. Thank you for such a great place to stay!

Lovely Family Stay with lots of room

Exceptional!
Stayed here with family while we were in town for my brothers memorial service at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. The location was central to that and other family and friends. Fun pubs and restaurants also very nearby. It worked out perfect. The house was better than pictured. We had a few minor bumps but the owners acted quickly and went above and beyond to accommodate me and my 7 other family members. The house has room enough for all to have their privacy as well as several perfect gathering spaces. Home has 3 levels - loft bedroom upstairs (no door) but did not seem to be an issue for Dad and Stepmom. We used the pool table more than we thought we would (it is on the main level or 2nd floor adjacent to dining/kitchen). The large sectional for relaxation along with a 2nd kitchenette downstairs in basement or 3rd level which also has the walkout to a firepit and the gorgeous lake. Views are amazing! The deck wraps around the side and back of the house and had comfy furniture - we found the cushions in the garage. The owners were truly generous with ample stock of amenities and sundries - even had coffee and chocolates! Yum! We would DEFINITELY stay here again -- preferably during the Summer months when we could've facilitated the lake. Thank you to Stacy and Thomas for their exceptional hospitality! They are truly super hosts with a fabulous rental!!!

My family enjoyed this serene lake house getaway! We especially enjoyed the walkout basement, main floor kitchen and pool table. All beds are comfortable. The hosts were very responsive to our needs. We look forward to returning to fully enjoy the lake.

The home is very well kept and equipped. All the kitchen essentials and plenty of towels. The presentation of the home when we arrived was excellent and very clean. My parents, siblings and their spouses (traveled from Ohio) all spent 3 nights here and we had a great time. We enjoyed the pool table and playing cards/games on the outdoor patio table. There is a nice gas grill just off the kitchen on the deck we used to cook out. The bedrooms were all comfortable and good size. The decor was very nice and welcoming.
I would definitely recommend this home to family and friends.

This was a perfect weekend for our family gathering! Not only was the rental perfect size for our group but very clean! The owners were wonderful to work with and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay!

Beautiful location with spectacular lake views!
Plenty to do. We caught some fish, used the paddleboard’s, enjoyed the bonfire pit, enjoy the corn hole game, enjoy the pool table, and had a nice family barbecue

Wonderful Getaway Experience
Stacey and Tom are outstanding hosts. Their home is clean, comfortable, inviting... and we cannot begin to express our gratitude for their willingness to share this location with others. We’re from L.A. and brought our family to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation, 22nd bday, and a new job. Great times together and memories that will last a lifetime! Perfect for our family Thanksgiving
My daughters and their husbands joined me for Thanksgiving. This house was perfect to accommodate our group. The pool table and fireplace was a hit and the lower level provided great space for all of us to watch football. We would love to come back and enjoy the lakefront

What a beautiful home and setting for a vacation with the family!
This home was clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and just the right size for a family gathering. The only surprise that wasn't in the listing was that the owner and others reserve the right to use the waterfront property while renters are occupying the home. The only way we found out was in the rules regarding the house that were kept in the binder on site. It was an uneasy feeling when someone (we assumed the owners) parked in the driveway, someone got out of the vehicle and ate lunch, then took their water equipment and walked down the side of the house and behind the house to the waterfront. It would have been more comforting if they would have come to the door and introduced themselves. Overall, the stay was wonderful!

This property was perfect for our family get-together. Great comfort, a beautiful lake, and a very well equipped kitchen. The recommendation for a boat rental was also just right. We would certainly recommend this property and its owner.

Getaway close to home
My husband and I have been joining three other couples for the same long weekend in August for five years. This house on Otter Lake met our criteria for beds and baths. Loved that it had a pool table. Everyone got a cue stick in their hands at some point. The layout was nice, the extra space in the lower level was welcome. The lakefront/water access wasn't the best. Would have liked to be able to walk in and swim. Kayaks were also not readily available, nor was a dock to put a boat in. There was plenty of room inside and out to sit and relax, play games and our favorite: do puzzles!

Such a cool place. Rented a pontoon boat that was docked right on the property. Tons of space inside. Awesome deck outside. Incredible beds! 1st class. Stacy was a great hostess and very concerned about us.
