Summer has an average of 18 ºC, with maximums that do not usually rise above 30 ºC, although they can drop in the afternoons, so do not hesitate to bring a light coat if you are going to walk along the beach or the promenade. The rains are not as copious as during the rest of the year, but downpours are common. You can enjoy 10 hours of sunshine a day during the summer season. The temperate (and often violent) waters of the bay are around 19-22 ° C, ideal for practicing water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, bodyboarding or scuba diving. In winter temperatures are around 9ºC and rarely fall below 5ºC. It is the wettest and windiest season, although the water temperatures are still temperate, between 9-13 ºC. The best way to warm up is to eat at a traditional cider house and enjoy the aroma of freshly opened cider barrels. If you choose to visit San Sebastián in spring and autumn you will find mild temperatures and an average of 8 and a half hours of sunshine during the day, although these stations are famous for their unpredictable weather conditions. For those who wish to take a dip in the bay, it is preferable to do so in early autumn rather than late spring, due to the water temperatures.

Our month stay was fantastic! If you are considering this residence make sure you are among those who love lots of activity, large gatherings, and a bit of noise in the evenings. That said, with the incredible views on the balcony and the comfort of the apartment we would definitely do it all again.

excellent
I found the owners of the property very helpful and obliging on the day we arrived and the 5th floor apartment is very nice with lovely views.
the deposit was returned very quickly and without a prompt and overall I could not fault the whole experience.
the building housing the apartment is a bit run down but it didn't detract from the overall experience and i've come on holiday to enjoy myself and not to buy the property.
and of course san Sebastian is a brilliant place to stay with the 3 beaches, history and places to eat.

My husband and I decided to do an Iberian Peninsula Roadtrip for our honeymoon with San Sebastian being the main destination where we'd stay a whole week. The food, basque culture and beautiful mountains and beaches were the main draw. We're adventurous and laid back but obviously enjoy comfortable amenities too. Therefore, we chose Maria's apartment. We wanted to stay beachfront with a view and an outdoor space to relax on -- without these things, a vacation can feel more like a hustle where you have to stay out all day and night to feel part of the city you're in. Maria's was perfect. FOr instance, after hiking to the beautiful Pasaje de San Juan (a 3 hr hike -- the entrance 5 mins from Maria's apt) we bussed back and were home around 5pm. With dinner not until 9/10, we wanted to relax but didn't feel like packing a big bag after our already-full day and going down to the beach. Instead, we hung out on the porch watching the surfers, reading, and having a cocktail. This is what our days were like: PERFECT. It's hard to relax in a hotel room for 4-5 hours and not get stir crazy, but with the views and outdoor space at Maria's, there was no problem with any of that. We eased into our mornings with breakfast & coffee on the porch (there's a small family grocery directly under the apt with eggs, cheese, incredible fruit, cold coffees etc). In the afternoons we surfed on Zurriola beach, hiked, or walked around town. At night, of course, we ate and ate and ate. This is in Gros, it isn't in the Old Town or La Concha but it's only a 10 minute walk beautiful along the way. In fact, we much preferred Gros to Old Town or La Concha - they were very nice to visit, but a little cramped and stuffy to stay in...meanwhile, Gros is like Brooklyn but on the beach. It's the locals area, the surfers beach, and much more relaxed, artistic and even more affordable. The beds were very comfortable and the showers (2 bathrooms) had fantastic pressure and water. I'm not sure if there was AC but you truly don't need it if the temps are below 75 during the day and in the 50s/low 60s at night (and I'm a diva when it comes to AC); the fan is fine. The decor and furniture isn't high-end, but there's no real reason to stay in watching TV on the couch anyway. We plan on doing a roadtrip from Biarritz to Portugal within the next few years and definitely want to stay at Maria's again. Thank you!

Great location and beautiful view
This was our first visit to San Sebastian and we were welcomed graciously by Maria and her son David. This penthouse apartment had everything we needed. There is a little market and bar right downstairs and the beach is just across the street. The view from the large balcony was outstanding. The location was just a short walk to dining and shopping and it was fun to get to know the neighborhoods.

"Perfect"
There were 5 of us here for Christmas and New Year. Plenty of room, each of the 3 bedrooms had this view. Love the sound of the ocean. Local cafe downstairs with food and drinks. Small food shop too. 15 minute walk to old town. More (good) restaurants than you could visit in a lifetime. Buses take you everywhere, no need for a car. Pamplona & Bilbao 1 hr, France 1/2 hr. We're from San Francisco, a city that's very easy on the eye. This place will blow you away.
Volveré.

This is a clean and lovely apartment overlooking the surfing beach. You sleep and wake to the sound of ocean waves and surfers shuffling themselves out to sea. We were traveling as a family of 4 plus grandma. The children ages 10 and 7 slept on the floor in the "living area/den" that has a pull out futon type couch. There is a full bath with bidet off the kitchen/dining area and another bath off the master bedroom. All the rooms are along the balcony which is nice though is gets evening sun and can be quite hot. There is so much to do in San Sebastian we were hardly ever staying inside after the sun starting beating in and didn't generally come home until the cool evening breeze swept the the hot air out.
It was great to get to hang the laundry on the clothesline out the kitchen window that opens to the inner courtyard area.
The apartment is small and not meant to do extensive cooking in. But it worked even for the 5 of us.
There is a sweet grocery shop right downstairs selling fresh fruits and veggies and pretty much anything you might need for breakfast and picnic lunches. yummm
It is nice to stay off the main tourist strip where you feel more a part of local life but it was a little bit of a trek to get to the beach that is more swimmable for kids.
Also the apartment is right at the entrance to the 4mi hike to pasajes de san pedro a small fishing village to the east that was a phenomenal hike and then the most lovely visit and meal in the small town. bus back home was welcome after such a long and thirsty walk.
Owner is available and quite responsive for any mishaps or questions. Quite a pleasure to work with.
Thank you for everything Maria!

Great place to stay
This is a great place to stay and experience San Sebastian. I stayed at Maria's wonderful apartment with my wife and two children. The apartment felt like a home away from home.
Maria greeted us at the apartment when we first arrived and provided a wonderful introduction to the apartment as well as advice on restaurants and local attractions. She also provided a lovely bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Thanks Maria!
As for the details of the apartment, the kitchen is small but has a clever layout and all the necessary equipment for simple cooking.
The bedrooms are roomy and the beds are quite comfortable.
The best part of the apartment is the balcony/terrace that provides what I can only guess is one of the best views available in San Sebastian. What a great spot this was for enjoying a beer and watching the surfers carve into wave after perfect wave at Zurriola beach. From the terrace, you have a perfect line of sight to the statue of Jesus on top of Monte Urgul. It's a one of a kind view.
If you are planning a trip to Spain, I can't recommend San Sebastian enough. It's a rare place populated with lovely, inviting people. The food is unparalleled. The beaches are amazing.
I hope to get back to San Sebastian one day, and if I do, I would definitely stay at this apartment.

A wonderful view of the beach
We had a wonderful stay at your apartment in San Sebastian. Although the weather wasn’t very good in the second half of our stay, we still had several days to enjoy the sunny terrace and the spectacular views of the Atlantic. Even when it rained we could still watch the surfers through the windows. The apartment was so comfortable and clean, well equipped and easy to cook in, and had lots of space and light. The location, although slightly remote, was not too far to walk to downtown, and the local restaurants and pinxto bars. Your restaurant suggestions were very helpful. We appreciated the wine and food that you left for us to enjoy, and for greeting us at the apartment after we had been delayed. Thank you, Maria. We had a wonderful time in your lovely apartment.

A perfect view
We have stayed in apartments in San Sebastian on four occasions and can confidently state that this one has the best view. It was an experience to look across Zurriola beach towards the Old Town and watch the surfers catch waves and the Spaniards promenade. The view at night was also breathtaking.
The apartment itself is well fitted out having recently been renovated. Our only complaint would be the chairs used for the dining table could be upgraded to something more comfortable.
The owner, Maria, was very helpful despite her halting English. She organised car parking for us in a nearby carpark at a very reasonable cost.

Had a lovely week in the apartment. Perfectly located on the beach and only a few mins walk from shops and restaurants. Maria couldn't have been more helpful with lots of different things. Would recommend

Fantastic apartment...
This fantastic apartment is in a great location with a fab balcony that has amazing views of Zurriola beach. This was our third visit to San Seb and this was by far the best accommodation and location. The apartment itself was very clean and quiet. We were met by Maria and David who are both really friendly and very happy to explain everything and pass on local info and recommendations. We were a party of 4 adults and there was plenty of space - the layout works really well with the bedrooms either side of the lounge area (both with French doors onto the balcony). As well as being close to the old town, there are plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep. I'm sure we'll be back in San Seb before too long and will definitely be rebooking this apartment.

FANTASTIC LOCATION AND GORGEOUS VIEWS!!
We (6 adults) stayed in this penthouse apartment for 2 weeks in San Sebastian and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The views are breathtaking and the weather in late July/early August was unbelievable - 70s the entire time. The penthouse is just a short walk to several beaches, old town, and many other sights (Aquarium, etc.). We did not have a rental car and did not need one. The city has a wonderful public transportation system - city buses, taxis, trains, etc. We took the bus to Pamplona to spend the day and that was not a problem. We also rode the train from a town 30 miles away. You will want to visit the local tourism office nearby and they can help you plan your activities and provide information on available transportation.
Maria was very responsive to our many questions as we approached the start of our trip. Hopefully someday we will return to San Sebastian and would very much love to stay at this property again! Thank you Maria for your kind hospitality!

One of the coolest places on earth!!!!
Traveled with 3 adults and 2 kids. Everyone loved the apartment, Playa de la Zurriola, and San Sabastian. The apartment was super comfy and we did meals in and watched the Eurocup on TV at night. Surfed in the mornings and ate in the old city during the day. This place is magic.

The balcony!
Stayed here for five days with my wife. Whilst weather mixed the apartment made up for it. The view is sooo good and access to the beach and the town is easy. The appartment is a bit smaller than it appeared in photos but wasn't a problem for two people. The sofa wasn't too comfortable if you want to watch TV as the cushion base continually slides off, but as we were rarely in it didn't matter. Although on fifth floor there is access by a lift,
Can be a bit warm at night but not a major problem if you like the sound of the sea with the window slightly open. Small store immediately below and a good BAR next to it - how convenient. Whilst very well equipped we never actually ate in the appartment as there are so many eateries nearby and along the front. Would highly recommend this appartment as a base in San Sebastian.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maria and David's apartment in San Sebastian. It combines the charm of an apartment building built in 1921 with the modern features of the interior remodel. Everything was in perfect condition, and Maria was a wonderful host. She and David greeted us at 10:00 at night and ensured that we were familiar with everything in the apartment. It is nicely furnished, including the kitchen, and the beds are very comfortable. The view from the balcony is exceptional - the sunsets were spectacular, and we enjoyed watching the surfers. The location of the apartment is terrific - just a short walk to the city center and the old town. There are lots of good restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as a grocery store downstairs that has much of what you need for a vacation.
San Sebastian is well-known for its food, and we found numerous enjoyable restaurants. The Hop-on-Hop-off bus stop is easy to get to, and we found that experience a real help in planning our walking adventures. Make sure to visit the Tourism Bureau to get suggestions for things to do. They were able to help us get Bilbao by bus for a wonderful day.
We hope to get back to San Sebastian, and we would definitely stay at this property again. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in a vacation in San Sebastian!

My husband, adult daughter and I spent a week at this apartment last October. It would certainly easily accommodate 2 couples, and we would love to return one day. Sitting on the balcony watching the sunset or our daughter surfing was very special, just a spectacular view! We parked our car at a local lot for a weekly rate which was reasonable and took it out for a couple of day trips. There was no need to drive within San Sebastián, we walked everywhere. The location of the apartment was great, an easy walk along the sea wall to access the rest of the city. Loved the city and all the wonderful food and taste offerings.
The apartment was very clean and spotless and well maintained and well equipped to cook some meals. It met our expectations. Our arrival and departure were smooth, and we were personally greeted and directed to the parking garage a short distance away.
All in all a wonderful experience and I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends and family.

Our party of four adults shared this apartment and had plenty of room. The very modern renovation made for a comfortable stay. The terrace is outstanding given the size and the view it provides. We prefered this part of San Sebastian to the Old Town (not that there was anything wrong with the Old Town) as it was very lively without being too touristy.
The only thing that I would mention is the lack of air conditioning. The weather turned particularly hot when we were there and we could have used a few ceiling fans to help us sleep at night.
That said, I would highly recommend it

The apartment has been excellently renovated. Travelled with 2 babies & Maria & her sun arranged a 2nd cot for us no problems. Fantastic location especially if you surf, surf check from the balcony, but also close to pintxos bars on Gros and an easy walk into the old town & across to La Concha beach. Looking forward to staying here again in the future. Due to the balcony probably wouldn't take small children but perfect for 4 adults. The bar/pub on the corner below the apartment does great food & wide range of beers from across the world if you fancy staying local!
