Sunny Apartment 3 Minutes Walking from St. Mark's Square
About this condo rental
Located in San Marco, this lovely condo for R 2,781 per night is a great option for your next break. This apartment is located in the heart of the historic center of Venice, halfway between the Rialto bridge (a six minute walk) and St. Mark’s Square (a three minute walk). It is very calm because it looks on to a private courtyard and it is accessible only through another quiet venetian private yard. In the bedroom there is a french bed (51 inches wide) with a cabinet drawers, an access to a small balcony overlooking a quiet space; the bathroom is decorated in fine pink marble from Portugal, complete with a shower and a hairdryer. The living room has a dining table for four, a cabinet-style bars , two sigle beds, and the nice kitchen has black African granite counters with walls in red marble from Verona. It is equipped with a refrigerator and freezer-cell, a four-burner gas stove, an oven and a microwave. With the exposed wooden beam ceiling and hardwood/brick flooring this apartment captures the beauty of historical Venice. Independent heating system; everything renewed on May 2004. Within a radius of fifty meters (really!) you will find: a supermarket, a fruit and vegetable store, a bakery, a dairy, a butcher, a pizza take-away, a wine shop, an electrical appliance store, an internet café, various restaurants, pizzerias and bars, as well as many different kinds of stores. Moreover, in just five minutes by foot you will find two banks, the postal-office and many others typical places where you can eat wonderful fish or just drink a typical cocktail. With everything just at your doorstep you will think you are in the comforts of your own home. As the apartment is located right in the center of the city near the most beautiful monuments, quite a lively area, you can easily reach every other interesting point in the city in just thirty minutes by foot. In addition, it is situated only six minutes away from the two most important vaporetto (water bus) stops in the city (Rialto and San Zaccaria). However, remember that in Venice it is best to travel by foot or with the Venetians on the vaporetto, because the water taxis are very expensive. If you arrive from the bus station or the car parks (Piazzale Roma stop), or from the train station of Venice “Santa Lucia” (Ferrovia stop), take the vaporetto number 2 (which costs 6,50 Euro per person) for about fifteen minutes until you reach the Rialto stop. Then it is just six minutes by foot to reach the apartment. You can also take a water taxi which costs about 50-60 Euro per trip. If you arrive from the airport, take the bus to Venice (a twenty minute ride). Once you arrive in Piazzale Roma, take the vaporetto number 2 as mentioned above. You can also take a water taxi direct from the airport which costs about 80-90 Euro per trip. If you arrive by car you must leave it in the car park. In Venice it costs between 24 to 30 Euro per day (if there is space). In Mestre it costs 8 Euro per day at the car park in front of the train station; then you just take the train to “Venezia Santa Lucia” (which costs 1,50 Euro) and take the vaporetto number 2 as mentioned above. If you are already in Venice you can easily reach the apartment by foot. Keywords: Apartments, flat, flats, home, studio, mansard

This place looks just like it does in the pictures. The location cannot be beat since we were so close to San Marco and many delicious restaurants. If you are looking for luxury this isn’t your place but that was not the purpose for us. We were looking for a central place to be able to go back to multiple times throughout the day if we needed a quick recharge since we travelled with our 6 year old son. This place was perfect for that reason. Beds were traditional European beds and pillows were comfy. The sofa bed our son slept in was a little hard but as expected for a sofa bed. He slept just fine! Also Nina was very attentive and directions were great. We also found Apple Maps works well if you put in the address. Loved that his place had ac to keep us cool at night! We had a wonderful time and would come back to this place if we ever find ourselves back in Venice. Recommend for sure!!!

The property is a little difficult to find as are most things in Venice. However it is centrally located and great for walking to any point on the main island. Its the perfect size for a couple but could accommodate another if necessary. We had a great time there!

This quaint little apartment is located right in the heart of the historic district. It is unbeatable value! And our host Nina was just lovely! Great communication, super clean property, great location, great value! HIghly recommened! Will stay there again... (Venice was amazing, I can't wait to go back!) Thank you Nina for sharing your historical home with us.

I love the location of this property. It is perfectly located between San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. I can easily walk to all areas when visiting and be able to make a stop back in the apartment before heading another direction. There are many restaurants very close and a couple of grocery stores just a few steps away. The apartment is very clean and has a great little courtyard off the street behind a locking gate, so I feel very safe here traveling alone. The property manager is very helpful with info in the area and very responsive to any needs. I have stayed here before and plan to return again. It was a delightful stay for my Venetian holiday.

It took me some time to find the apartment even though I had excellent instructions from the owner. It's is tucked away between Rialto and st marks square. Venice is a maize of small street, and arriving after a long haul flight didn't help.!
The apartment is equipped ok, but basic. No wine glasses, 3 juice glasses only. And this is Italy. ! Small coffee maker that makes one cup at a time. There were a few (left over) basic supplies, but no welcome basket as is fairly normal in most vrbo properties. Wasn't able to enjoy fresh air at night due to mosquitos.
The photos on the vrbo sight were accurate.
Bed was hard, linens not very nice. This all sounds negative, and I have to say that I was disappointed. I have stayed in many vrbo apartments and this was probably the most disappointing. But, location was great for many of the attractions.
There was a supermarket very closely, and a great take away fresh pasta place. 5 Euros for a beautiful fresh pasta. Why cook!!

I probably should give this place 5 stars as this is, after all, Venice, where everything is a bit cramped. The good points first. The location is great, right in the middle of things, yet quiet being on a narrow side street with the units facing a courtyard. It's a short walk both to San Marcos and to the Rialto bridge. So for a first or second time visitor, the location was perfect. Secondly, the hosts are very accommodating. When I had trouble with a malfunctioning moka pot, the owner was over in just an hour after I emailed him. He fixed the pot with a new part immediately. Thirdly, the internet works well. The reason for the lack of one star was because of the kitchen, which is mainly a shelve area in the living room along with a gas stove. There is a small refrigerator. There is really no counter space or food prep area. The silverware, plates, glasses and utensils are spread out in various parts of the living room, in chest of drawers and such. One really can't cook dinners here without a lot of inconvenience. And some utensils are missing. However, it was fine for a simple breakfast and lunch. With so many restaurants and eateries around, we had our main meal out every day. One word of caution - if you plan on preparing coffee in the morning, make sure you know how to use a moka pot as there is no American type coffeemaker. The coffee from the pot is excellent and the hosts provided the coffee, but watch a video online to learn how to use it.
All in all we loved our stay in Venice, and would stay here again when we return.

The booking process and communication with our hosts, Francesco and Nina, was very good, with clear directions provided to guide us to the apartment upon our arrival (which is certainly needed to negotiate the narrow winding streets of Venice). The apartment's close proximity to the Rialto Bridge and to St Mark's square was a real bonus for accessing tourist attractions and having landmarks to navigate by.
The apartment was very small for three adults and the lighting was very subdued (to the point of being quite dark). However, it was warm and cosy during our stay in Winter.

We spent six nights at Casseleria 2. We thought we would be getting Casseleria 1, the smaller studio apartment on the ground floor, but instead we got this one-bedroom flat on the first floor up. It was lovely and charming, as was Nina our host. The apartment was plenty big for the two of us. Because it is enclosed between two courtyards, it is extremely quiet considering how close it is to the busiest tourist area in Venice -- San Marco. We did hear church bells ringing from time to time, but they were charming rather than annoying. Nina gave excellent instructions on getting to the place and was there to meet us right on time. The last two days of our visit the weather became very hot. The apartment has air conditioning that works well, thankfully! There is a washing machine that guests can use (no charge) and lots of space in the courtyard to hang the clothes to dry. The apartment is very close to a well-stocked Co-op grocery store and a short walk to vaporettos, many restaurants and bars, and of course the top tourist attractions. We would certainly stay here again.

We had a fabulous 6 day stay in this Venice apartment. It was close to everything, it had wonderful atmosphere and we felt very safe. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable and all of amenities we needed to do all of our own cooking were provided. It was a bonus being able to do our laundry there. The grocery store was within a minute's walk and this feature made things very cost effective. The stay was made very special by the owner, Nina, who bent over backwards to provide information and make us feel very welcome. In a heartbeat we would stay there again.

We recently returned from a most magnificent 2nd stay in this apartment, and we plan to return! That should say enough, however, just to be very clear the description of this apartment is most exactly what you will find. The owners have been very precise, and do business in this most professional manner, very refreshing, and worthy of great confidence. We have never encountered any problem, quite the opposite, they have made the booking, checking in, etc., experience easier each time. Here, as stated, you will be in the midst of the real Venice, between 2 lovely courtyards, amongst locals, a few steps from more local and tourist destinations than you could want to see in a year. The owners are truly trustworthy, kind, sincere, dependable to a fault, they make your stay everything you wish it to be and a bit more. The experience you can have in this apartment, with these owners is immersion Venetian with just enough of the modern comforts of home to lull you into vacation oblivion, you may truly forget you have a life to return to. Venice itself is intoxicating, and staying in a traditional Venetian manner, shopping, cooking, walking, inhaling and savoring it with your own place while you are here, having a temporary local and lovely family that is most effective support, is hard to put into words, let's just say 'it's priceless'. See you soon Nina & Francesco P.S. ready for the chocolate flourless cake recipe!! XO

My husband and I stayed at Francesco and Nina's place in Venice from 9/29-10/3/13. It was a great apartment. Location was great. Close to everything. If you Shop, Shop, Shop and Eat, Eat, Eat, then this is the place for you! The apartment was clean, and large by European standards. Nina was a delight. Had a wonderful time! We recommend visiting the island of Murano and Burano. Great places. When visiting Venice again, we will definitely give Francesco and Nina a call!

Our hosts Nina and Francesco were extremely helpful from the first inquiry we made until the time we left there apartment. Nina was always both friendly and professional responding promptly to all the emails we sent and was discreetly available for whatever we needed. She offered practical suggestions and left a detailed list of useful information about getting around, where to eat out and where to buy groceries if we wanted to eat in. There was a great little supermarket a block away from the apartment with whatever one could need. Even though the directions to the apartment were very straightforward and we had no trouble in finding our way around, Nina greeted warmly at the vaporetto stop and walked with us the few blocks to the apartment. Her welcome set the tone for our stay. The apartment is adequately equiped and proved to be a suitable home away from home. The two of us were very comfortable. If you are looking for a well-located, quiet apartment with a congenial host, you could do no better than to choose this one. Staying here was a very good experience for us as we explored this wonderful city.

This quaint, quiet, studio is a perfect location for the budget minded traveler that wants to stay in the heart of it all. We were amazed that the place was so quiet being so central. We were able to get a great night of sleep and take naps after long days of getting lost in Venice. Nina and Francesco were very attentive and responded quickly to any questions that came about. We were a little lost upon arrival and took the wrong direction on the water bus. Nina was kind enough to track us down and lead us to the apartment.

This was our first time to Italy and Venice. We are a mature couple with particular tastes and a smaller budget. Nina was very patient with our many questions prior to booking. We had no idea what to expect. What a wonderful surprise --staying in the middle flat. There were NO 'unfortunate surprises' , but instead, we discovered small touches and conveniences to the location that made our stay perfect. The kitchen area was just what was needed and well equipped for simple meals. The bathroom was very good and more than enough hot water. I expected the 'french' double bed to be too small, but found it quite comfortable even for my tall frame.
Francesco's mother (I think I have it right) met us when we arrived and was very helpful, even gave us a discount coupon for a restaurant just down the via which had simple but very tasty food at reasonable prices. She also pointed out the 'supermarket' around the corner with quite superior food choices at reasonable prices. The description of the flat was accurate, clean, comfortable as well as quiet. Arriving there requires a little faith for those unused to the Venetian landscape, but all went well.
The flat's location is perfect to groceries, hardware, vaporetto as well as half way between the Rialto and San Marco Square, yet quiet with wonderful little byways and multiple bridges nearby that captured the magic of Venice in the early morning mist. Being so close to Piazza San Marco meant we could easily visit the cathedral etc. earlier in the morning and escape to other parts of the city when the hoardes descended like locusts.
Francesco was particularly helpful when i needed help to repair my suitcase (beware dragging your roll-along bag over bridges). He took me to the hardware around the corner (very well equipped with everything from appliances to galoshes) and loaned me the needed tools to make the repair--a god save, as we had 17 days of travel ahead of us.
While you cannot be truly lost, finding your way around Venice is exciting as well as mystifying when searching for a specific location, but it was always easy to find our way back and so welcome to just relax in what seemed more a home than a place to stay.
Would we return or recommend this property? YES. We have already booked our next stay--this time in the top flat, because this one is already taken The hosts continue to be very helpful and friendly couple. Thank you Nina and Francesco

Great Apartment!!
My 11 yr old son & I stayed for 3 days & loved it! The description is accurate!! It was just the right size & had all the conveniences we needed. It was clean & safe & air-conditioned!! Location was perfect-all sites & Grand Canal are nearby, good restaurants, shopping & the best gelateria. We never got lost-thank you Nina for your help! Her mother-in-law is also a gracious hostess! I definitely recommend Nina's apt & would stay there again!

Being temporarily Venetian
First know that we love being in Venice! That said, Nina and Francesco's apt. 2 permitted us to play house, relax and immerse ourselves in everything Venice and quite literally forget we were Americans in a foreign country, if only for a week. The listing was modestly described, exactly as photographed, clean, habitable, typical of area, extremely well located (nearby anything you could possibly find in Venice, ie. vaporetto, grocery, restaurants, stores of all kinds, quiet canals & tunnels, tourist areas, Rialto bridge, gelato choices galore, wine shops, San Marco, produce and fish market, etc.), included clothes washer and clotheslines for drying. The owners were more than helpful, available, spoke good English, lovely, friendly, temporary family (Nina lived some in USA). The booking and confirmation was made easier than expected, owner most accomodating to our specific wishes and requests. We recommend entirely and pray we return again and again and again. OK, reality is it wasn't Texas, that said it was small, modest, close quarters within and without apartment (you see and hear the neighbors coming and going), you do your own housekeeping and sort your own trash just like your Venetian neighbors, double size bed, mini-fridge...absolutely adorable and everything we could have dreamed it was. This week was the highlight of our month long travels. p.s. Nina's idea of telling the numerous hawkers (salesmen) in San Marcos and around 'allergica' was excellent. As the fellas approach every few minutes with roses, etc., just say 'allergica' (I'm allergic) and they disperse. Thanks again Nina and Francesco, for every big and little thing.

Lovely Venice
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Nina and Francesco Apartment. What a wonderful location, minutes by foot to local market, restaurants and tourist sites. Nina was a lovely hostess, before we arrived she emailed us detailed instructions on how to get to the apartment. We found it immediately, we arrived and she was there to greet us! She had everything set up for us and ready to go. Any questions we had about apartment, she answered immediately. It was very warm one night so we asked how the Air Conditioner worked and she delivered the controller the next day. Little touches, like cooking supplies were available (salt/olive oil/sugar). Also, a washing machine was available and that was great when traveling with our small children. We had such a lovely vacation, I feel like inviting Nina and Francesco to our house in Germany!!!!
