Our annual cousin trip was exceptional because of staying in this Castle! The home was clean, comfortable and close to beautiful views of Lake Erie. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lakeside and would highly recommend it to anyone. The access to ferries for both islands was close and there are many activities right in town. We felt like queens...

I loved the castle house, it was beautiful and perfect for our stay. I would say the extra fees were very steep. On top of having to pay cleaning fees etc, we had gate fees for the entire week, which was listed in the contract, and we also had parking fees. The parking fee confused the heck out of me because the driveway was part of the property, we didn't park on the street. I think the owners were doing the best they could, but best go in with your eyes WIDE open that the price you see first is not what it will be. Also a bit annoyed that the linens were provided, but when we got there the rules said they all had to be washed, dried and folded before we left. At 10 in the morning. So we spent the entire last day trying to wash and dry blankets. The dryer didn't work properly and honestly when we communicated this to the owners they didn't have any help on how to fix it. We eventually figured out how to dry them, but it was a large hassle, so I would say 100% plan to bring your own linens, which is a bit annoying since there is a rather hefty cleaning fee that does not include that. I would suggest that those rules be amended, but the rest of the stay was very nice.
