Oakley's Ocean View Kauai Home on the 6th Hole of the Makai Golf Course!
About this house rental
This relaxing, custom home was built in 1987 and is well equipped with a unique design and amazing ocean view. The house sits on the 6th hole of the Makai Golf Course and yet it is in the heart of the rain forest! We have seen whales in the late winter through spring on the lanai! The Kilauea Light House (a short drive away) has whale watching as well as incredible bird watching stations! It is difficult to describe the tranquil beauty and incredible flowers that grace this home! The mountain view from the house is the site of the 'rainiest place on earth' and the rainbows are incredible and always changing! The upstairs king bedroom with sitting area, lanai and soaking tub has views of the mountain, the golf course and the ocean. The next level down features a king bed with a double shower and a lanai. New sink faucets and shower heads and faucets. New curtains in the upper master king bedroom and main level bedroom. The living room, dinning room, kitchen and lanai to the outside (where the ocean view is amazing) and bedroom are on the main level. The lower level features two bedrooms with new curtains in each bedroom. One room has a full bed and a bathroom/shower and the other bedroom has two twin beds with a bathroom/tub/shower. New sink and shower faucets and shower heads in both bathrooms. This level also has an entertainment area with a flat screen TV, pool table and game table. There are also 2 double Euro Lounge sleeper/sofas, and 2 twin futons. The outside hot tub sits among the trees on the lower deck. It is older but works great and is very relaxing after a long day at the beach or hiking! The view of the ocean from the hot tub is amazing! **This home has an outside 4 burner grill, landscape improvements, new outside lounge cushions, new light switches, including new LED lights throughout the house, new shower and sink faucets and new curtains in each room! There are two "Pack and Plays", (one with a "changing table"), highchair, 2 kid booster seats, 2 kid chairs and 2 safety gates as well.** There is also a blow up mattress in the basement renter closet. In the Princeville shopping center there is a grocery store, retail shopping, restaurants the best ice cream in the world at Lappert's and a place for Yoga! What a wonderful vacation house! Beautiful view and the location was perfect. Our large group loved the outdoor decks, large kitchen and living area and the feel of a true Hawaiian home. Check in and communication could not have been easier . We would definitely stay here again.

Originally we planned to rent two condo units in Princeville to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our family (my wife & I, our two kids and their families for total of 10). Then we discovered the Oakley house. It was perfect! Home was spacious with several large areas where kids could play and adults visit. Kitchen was well supplied. Beach toys were perfect. Loved the views. Watching sunset from hot tub was wonderful. I highly recommend.

My coworkers and I are convinced that you cannot find a better place to stay than at the Oakley House! We had the best time soaking in the views in the morning and exploring the island all day. This stay had everything we needed and more - beach toys, snorkeling equipment, Kauai hiking information books and more! Truly a dream vacation!

My little brother had graduated high school and wanted to go on a trip with his friends. We were able to use this property as a Graduation Trip for my brother and his friends and an Anniversary Trip for our parents. The location is perfect, amazing views of the sunsets, and just a walk away from Queens Bath and a short drive to either Hideaway Beach and Hanalei Bay. We used the pool table at least every day, as well as the jacuzzi. You will not regret renting this property!

We loved our stay! I would stay there again and would recommend to anyone. Especially large families and groups with various ages. It was great to come home from a day at the beach or snorkeling and everyone could have their own space to relax.

-Wicker furniture throughout the hours felt authentic for the island
-Great selection of games and island books
-Location- walking distance from Queen's Bath and minutes of driving distance for multiple shops and beaches

House is pretty dated and firniture in living room is very old and one of the tables and chairs had done obvious damage. The loungers on the lanai were so uncomfortable, and felt like something was jabbing your back when you lay on it.
Fridge water and ice was not working, which was not very convenient, and it was apparently in that state for a while (per the handyman)
My request to the owners is to invest a little money , as you have a beautiful property and it will really enhance the overall experience for your renters.

We enjoyed out stay at the Oakley home in Princeville. The views are incredible -- watched whales surfacing from the kitchen and lanai on a regular basis.
Princeville is about an 45 minute drive from the airport and Lihue. It worked out well for us since we spent most of our time on the North shore, but was a hike for the couple of times that we ventured south.
The house has lot of room and with four bedrooms, our party of 8 had plenty of private sleeping quarters. The pool table was a nice evening activity after the day at the beach. It was a bit of a challenge; however, for everyone to hang out in the living room together as there was not enough seating for 8 people.
The house is dated with many items in need of repair. The internet was also a challenge when everyone was connected. Also, there is no A/C (we knew this before hand). Since we were visiting in January, it was fine with the exception of one day when it was pretty uncomfortable in the house.
Overall, we enjoyed our visit and can't wait to come back to Hawaii!

This property is located with one of the best views on Kauai. Read the directions closely because the house in front has the same street number and in the dark we didn't see the side road to get down to the house. It is very well equipped and has all the beach supplies you need.

View is awesome. WiFi is on and off so if you're working remote you might consider bringing a LAN cable and inquire about where to plug in.

Beautiful location and view. Accommodated our 3 families with plenty of beds, baths and space. Plenty of beach gear and well stocked kitchen. Mahalo!

Had a great stay in Princeville! Location is great with easy walk to Queens Bath! What an amazing place. The house had everything we needed and was big enough for our group to get together or spread out! Since it was a bit difficult to get to Hanalei due to the mud slide and resulting road closures, we utilized the kitchen a lot! And there was everything you could need! We even hired a local chef Juan Saenz to prepare a traditional Hawaiian meal for us! It was delicious! Would love to return and would highly recommend this house!

Aloha! What a relaxing and memorable way to spend the holidays with family. The Oakley property is a spacious home for our group of 12. It has amazing views for rainbow sightings, bird watching, and we all enjoyed staring at the ocean from the lanais while sipping our beverages. Susan, our host, was excellent in communication, and the house was well stocked for staying in or heading out. The lockbox was a little tricky, but we got in eventually, after a quick call to the property manager, who was so gracious. All in all, we enjoyed the Oakley House and it made for some great family memories.
