Stayed here several years ago, brought additional family along this time.
Nephews first beach trip- great location to beach. Several beach side restaurants within walking distance.
Had daughters Senior pictures taken on beach this visit, can’t wait to see how those turned out.

We had a great time! The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved the bunk beds and of course the pool! We really enjoyed the private road that literally only took us 2 minutes (if that) to walk to the beach. Jay was awesome and was very communicative, and reached out to see if we needed anything during our stay. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay at Miramar!

Awesome location! Steps from the beach. The house is everything that you need. The setup of the house worked well for us with the lower level not being attached to the upper level but it may not be for some. Pool and basketball court were amazing. Very clean and comfortable. Would stay here again for sure.

Perfect Beach Getaway
The house was perfect for a family of 12! Very clean, stocked with everything you could possibly need, super close to the beach, great pool, and large porch area. The owners were fabulous to work with! We highly recommend this place for vacation!

Absolutely wonderful. Great location. Fully equipped kitchen, perfect swimming pool ( gated for kids safety) and pool water temperature was excellent. Magnificent beach access and the Property Manager was very attentive. You and your family will love this place. The privacy and easy parking at this house is priceless.

I was so excited to take my family to this property mostly because of the basketball court for the older kids to play. Miramar has ended up being our family vaca spot because its easy and chill for the kids. I booked spring break for '21. Unfortunately my son had a traumatic head injury and has been hospitalized for 4x since booking. We had to reschedule. I paid more. Then our second trip had to be postponed because of life stress I couldnt pull it off. I requested to move to '22 spring break. We had a horrendous year. He filled the space, he was mad but agreed to push back. I paid more. Our vacation time came up. It was not blocked off on the calender on VRBO. The owner would not answer me. I paid well over his rate charge for this vacation. Im starting to really panic. I go back through the app and it charges my card another full amount. FINALLY he answers , he says why did you do that? I said because we are supposed to be going and paid to go and we had an agreement. I reminded him how much I paid, I pleaded to go, he says hes going to charge me another $2k. Im sick at this point. Finally after going round and round he says we can go and will refund my money on check in. Instead of arguing with this man I trusted him and said ok. Well he ignored me and told me to have a good life. So I paid over $10k to stay in this old house. Completely located in the middle of brand new beach houses with heated pools and hottubs. It has a long drive so literally centered inbetween 5 new adorable houses. At night we listened to the surrounding houses literally party and their kids playing basketball and games in the hottub right next to the windows of the house.
The outside bar is falling off the house. The pool needs love & is ice ice cold. My husband and kids all had splinters from the boards being so worn. The railing falling off the banister walking up to the main level. And the joists of the home are not fully braced. There are signs all over the house how much you will be charged if something is missing.
What a complete nightmare. I could have rented the house next door for what I paid. I would have loved to swim with my kids all night but we couldnt even swim during the day bc it was soooo cold.

It's a beautiful area with a couple of houses getting construction done on them next door to it. Check-in time could be a little earlier.

Built for fun, plenty of privacy
Traveled with my husband, children, and parents... we were cozy when we wanted but could spread out. It took 90 seconds to walk leisurely to the beach from the door! Loved having the private pool especially with the on and off rip tides and wanting to avoid condos/resorts as we phase out of COVID.
Outdoor shower had hot water to rinse off sand :-). The bunks and larger beds equally comfy. The owners were friendly, checking to make sure we got in safely, available to help troubleshoot entertainment glitches, and genuinely seemed happy to have us stay. Our last day, we prepared a seafood feast—that saved some $$ and spared us getting out. My parents found our getaway to be so relaxing, my husband took some remote work meetings on the WiFi, FedEx dropped us some extra beachy clothes w/o any trouble, and the washer/dryer were fabulous amenities! If you need a retreat, this is it— close to everything but you can just opt out too.

Family Vacation
We usually stay at condos, but this time we decided to try a house. We had kids so we thought a house with a pool would be great. It worked out perfectly, the house was perfect for us. The kids were in the pool till the last day. The beach was closer than we thought, Alvin’s Island and Dollar General are walking distance. I would definitely stay here again. Loved this place

The location of this place can’t be beat. It is a comfortable short stroll from the beach as well as Dollar General in the event you needed a last minute item. restaurants and shops close by are great.
The living room is tight quarters, but the bedrooms were comfortable for our family.
Having the pool was a nice bonus. Laundry on site was great as well. We really enjoyed our stay.
It would have been nice to have some additional essentials available on day 1 (like a box of Kleenex, some detergent, bathing soap) since most renters are traveling and would not be bringing these with them, however, as mentioned above, Dollar General is a close walk away.

Our girls trip was a blast! There was a high Red Tide Fisk when we visited so we weren’t able to go to the Beach, so the home having the pool was an extra added charm!

My friends and family had a great time staying at Summerwind.
We especially enjoyed the private swimming pool. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the house was very clean. Alvin's Island and a Dollar General are within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice place right by the beach at a reasonable price.

Owners are great! Very helpful. Stayed in contact all week to make sure everything was ok. Very cute decor! Loved the sandy area under the porch for my youngest to play. And the basketball court for my oldest. Private pool was awesome for when we were tired of the beach! Loved the separate living areas because we had 3 couples. So we took the bottom floor and had plenty of privacy. Highly recommend this property for a small group! Wish it was ON THE BEACH but doesn’t everyone. But it was so close it really wasn’t a problem! The laundry room was my favorite room in the whole house if you can believe it...I washed all week and didn’t mind a bit! We came home with a very small load to wash because I enjoyed it so much! LOL!

We had a wonderful stay at Summerwind! Hosts were very accommodating and easy to get in contact with if you had any questions. The pool was a perfect size for a group of 12 and it was very convenient being close to the beach. The house is also in a great location - a walk or short drive to Winn Dixie and many other stores. Our group consisted of all adults and no children, so the only criticism we had was that the living area doesn't have enough seating for all guests to sit and hang out (especially if there is a rainy day and you get stuck indoors). However, we really enjoyed our time and would recommend to anyone visiting the Destin area!

Location, location, location!!!!
We have stayed in Destin the last three summers, and this was by far our favorite location. No busy streets to cross, and the area is quiet and perfect for families. We had two families in our group: two couples and 6 kids. Note that you must go outside to get to the lower level of the house, but this was fine as the older kids were able to use the queen and 4 bunk beds downstairs, and we kept the youngest kids upstairs with us. There was a set of bunk beds in one of the upstairs bedrooms.
The kitchen was well-equipped (two blenders!), coffeepot and built-in grinder, and nice Fiestaware plates and mugs. Most rentals leave me wishing I had my own kitchenware, but not the case here. We never had a shortage of serving dishes, utensils, small appliances, etc. There is a second refrigerator and plenty of plasticware in the second kitchenette downstairs.
The private pool was everything we hoped it would be... the kids really enjoyed coming back from the beach, showering off the sand in the outdoor shower, and then hopping into the pool. There was a huge stock of pool and beach toys. I recommend taking inventory of what toys, chairs, and coolers are there before heading to Alvin's Island for beach supplies (less than a block away).
Dollar General and Walgreens are also about a block away, and Winn Dixie, Starbucks, and the outlet mall are extremely close as well.
If you haven't been to the white, sandy beaches in Destin, you will not be disappointed. We have traveled to several areas of Florida, Mexico, South Carolina, etc., and this is such a clean, family-friendly beach that we haven't wanted to go anywhere else for the last few years!! The water is fairly calm so we are able to take the little kids out in the water without the waves coming up over their heads.
The owners were great to work with, and we recommend this rental property. Thanks again for the great stay!!

So close to everything! Love the pool!
You couldn't ask for anything better! Close to shopping, entertainment and restaurants, also very close walk to the beach. We stayed from May 28th and left June 4th. We had excellent weather up until the day we left but other than that it was a perfect vacation. If you ever encounter any problems the owners will help out in anyway they can. My kids favorite thing to come back to was the pool at night. We would definitely rent from them again!

Fall break
Thank you so much Jay and kristalynn for sharing your beautiful beach home with us. We had so much fun!! The pool and basketball court kept our children busy. We especially love the private street for our children to wAlk to the beach. Very safe and the neighbors were very friendly and helpful. There were some issues but you took care of them promptly. I would definitely recommend this house to my friends and family.

This rental had something for everybody
My family spent a week in August at this wonderful beach house. My daughter and husband brought their three month old and were able to have privacy and convenient access to the rest of the family in the fully equipped downstairs space. We spent much of our time in the private pool before and after the short walk to the beautiful beach. The thirty year old boys spent hours reliving their childhood playing basketball on the court. My family had a great time and look forward to returning!!
