My husband, two children(11 and 12), and I stayed at this property in early August. It is in a prime location and is within walking distance of stores/restaurants and Black Rock to snorkel. Due to storms earlier in the year, many other properties nearby lost their beach. There is an excellent beach in front that we went to daily. We also swam in the pool conveniently located right off the beach. The kitchen is fully stocked, so we could have meals at the condo and enjoy the beautiful ocean view while sitting on the patio. We brought our own snorkel gear, but there are chairs, snorkel gear, an umbrella, and a cooler that are available for use. This unit has everything I needed for our stay. There are beach chairs and coolers to sit on the beach. The kitchen has everything we needed. Having the corner unit means a bigger balcony. Beautiful views of the ocean and hills. The location is perfect and easy to get to if you don’t want to bother with the elevator, the stairs are right there. It was nice to have a washer/dryer in the unit. Jim was so pleasant to talk to and he just really wants his customers to have the best possible vacation and he’ll do anything within his power to do just that for you. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Btw, I had the best night’s sleep in that cozy bed! Thank you, Jim, for your hospitality!

Great location. Very nice unit. Loved our stay. Beautiful wrap around lanai. Unit was clean and spacious. Loved having 2 bathrooms. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if we ever travel to Maui again. Host was very pleasant and helpful.

James Adamson, the owner, contacted us once before we left for Maui and personally explained the check-in process. Then he called the condo unit phone to make sure we had arrived and were satisfied, and then he called us on our last day seeking any feedback on how he could improve things! My husband and I totally loved our stay and had no recommendations on how he could improve the condo! Kaanapali Beach was amazing! Excellent restaurants in walking distance of the condo/resort! We had a great time watching the whales from the lanai! Thank You James for the amazing home away from home!

The condo was exactly as described. James was quick to respond to my questions. The condo is well stocked. It’s a perfect location with easy parking, a great beach and several restaurants within walking distance. We hope to stay there again in the future.

We loved the huge Lanai, the kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were super comfortable, and we especially loved having all of the beach gear available to use. I forgot to mention the location, it couldn't have been better...right on the beach, next to a shopping village with several restaurants and beautiful grounds to walk through. This property was perfect for our purposes. The view was amazing and the unit was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable.

We had a terrific time working with James , the owner, to rent his property. He was very responsive and accommodating. Outstanding! The condo is great. Stocked with kitchen equipment if you want to cook (we did not) and beach chairs and toys. Very nice property in a great location.

Our family of four loved our time at this property. The condo was beautifully appointed, spacious and comfy. The kitchen was well equipped and enabled us to cook a full thanksgiving dinner over the holiday. Having two full bathrooms was a huge convenience. The Whaler is one of our favorite locations to stay on the island and the staff and grounds were lovely as always. The location is perfect for a vacation focused on sun, the beach and occasional explorations of the island at large. The owner, James, was attentive and prompt to insure our stay was enjoyable. When there was a very minor issue with the AC controls, he took great concern to help us resolve the problem rapidly.

We recently stayed at this property and had a great experience. The unit was spacious, clean and perfect for our family. The bed was very soft and cozy. Highly recommend staying here, we certainly will!

This condominium has a great location and a beautiful view of the ocean. It is well equipped for cooking and the BBQs onsite are great. There is also some fun beach gear you can use (eg boogie boards, snorkel, etc.). Highly recommend this property!

It all starts with the property manager. Jim was excellent from beginning to end. His communication was attentive, but not overwhelming. I would 100% rent from him again. If you’ve never stayed at The Whaler look no further. We’ve stayed up north Napili and down south in Wailea. This location is the best! Beaches are top notch, restaurants are covenient and the hotel vibe is perfect for honeymooners or family. We had no issues but in our unit and having our own laundry and drier was super convenient. This unit has everything you need to cook a large meal. Ice chest, float toys and chairs. There is not 1 negative I can think of. Thank you Jim. Our stay was everything I could have imagined. I’m hesitant to write this review! Only because we will never stay anywhere else, other than this exact condo every time we visit Maui! It’s one of the Gems you want to keep to yourself, but so excited to have found it, that you share to everyone! James condo was the perfect location! The bed and pillows so comfortable! (I’m a pillow snob) Kitchen and appliance beautiful! The placement of the condo on the resort perfect. And walking distance to the best restaurants! I just hope James’ condo will be available next time we visit! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Great place to stay in Maui. You will not be disappointed!

We came to Maui for our annual holiday to recharge and relax. As usual we stayed in this beautiful 1-bdrm, 2-bath suite at the Whaler. As usual it was spotless when we arrived and everything in it's place. LOVE the new bed!! Granite flooring/counters and lush carpet give this suite a luxurious feel. It is well equipped with a full kitchen, including a dishwasher, microwave and icemaker. The extra-large shower with multiple shower heads make it easy to rid yourself of all the sand from the beach😉� In addition, the owners provide beach supplies(!) such as coolers, chairs, umbrellas, boggy boards, and snorkel gear! This comfortable corner suite has a lovely spacious lanai where you can watch the sun rise over the mountain range in the morning and then an unobstructed view of the magnificent sunsets that fill the evening sky. From Dec – May, spend a lazy afternoon whale watching. The Whaler is located right on the renowned Kaanapali Beach, you couldn’t get any closer to the beach! The resort has tennis courts, a heated pool and hot tub, community BBQs, fitness centre, spa, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Clean, fresh towels for the pool are available from the awesome, friendly staff at the Beach Hut where you can book excursions, make reservations, rent beach cabanas, SUPs, surf boards, beach chairs, etc. Right next door to Whalers Village - unique specialty stores, high-end shopping, dining, drinks, children's play area and daily entertainment. You can walk to Black Rock for some of the best snorkelling or cliff jumping, in the world! I highly recommend this place – James and Lucy are fabulous hosts!

I think my Dad's first words as he entered unit 374 on day 1 of our 10 day stay were something along the lines of, "Oh my, this is over the top, Son". I have to respectfully disagree as I think James has done a beautiful job with this lovely and luxurious corner condo, and that everything with Unit 374 is Just Right! We're a family that likes to cook and although the Whaler is only steps from some pretty good restaurants, we cooked many meals in the wonderfully provisioned kitchen in this unit. I love the open feel of the space and the flow from the granite floors in the kitchen, into the soft carpeted living area and then out onto the wrap-around Lanai overlooking the desirable inner courtyard. Everything in the unit is well maintained. The late-model appliances are quiet and make everything a breeze. Having in-unit laundry facilities is a huge bonus and the Bosch set of machines work great. The unit was SUPER clean when we arrived and there are also cleaning supplies in both the kitchen and bathroom so we could keep the unit tidy during our 10 day stay. Thoughtful touches like plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas and even several sets of snorkeling gear really rounded out our good impressions. The bed is VERY comfortable, and the "real-mattress" Murphy bed is a super upgrade and meant that the two nights my sister came to stay (she lives in Makawao) she got a great night of sleep on a comfortable bed. This was our first family vacation all together in many years and I'm so grateful that my folks were able to enjoy this wonderful space!
