About this house rental
Situated in Crescent City, this charming house for R 6,171 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. This beautiful 153-acre, white-fenced, lakefront ranch rests on Lake Earl, the largest freshwater lagoon in California. Woodhaven Lakeside Ranch is comprised of 90 acres wildlife conservation area and 60 acres of pastureland, redwood timberland and streams. Sandra Bullock stayed here for a month while filming the movie "Bird Box" on the Smith River. Woodhaven Lakeside Ranch is one of the most beautiful properties in Del Norte county. Every evening on the deck is a sunset like no other, watching the ducks, geese, egrets, blue herons and deer and occasional elk in the front yard, silhouetted by the setting sun. Sit in the hot tub with your favorite drink, your favorite people, and relax, bond and re-center yourself! There are countless trails on the beach and in the redwoods to horseback ride. We are also prepared to host your wedding and reception or family reunion. We have 14 three foot diameter round tables and 100 chairs available with 4500 square feet of living space and 2000 square feet of deck. Entering the home you are greeted with modern, comfortable elegance. The great room has 2 unique focal points. At one end is a two-sided, see-through fireplace with gorgeous 'country rubble' stonework. At the other end is a magnificent piece of art, a 9' X 4' redwood log chainsaw carving of 'The Last Supper'. The master suite is spacious, with a king size Tempurpedic sleigh bed, 52' HD TV, wood and gas stone fireplace, and huge master bath with jetted tub and a large corner marble shower with stone pebble flooring and two shower heads. The sunroom has a beautiful gas fireplace at one end, a wall of windows facing the lake to the west and a 52' HD TV with blue-ray player and HD satellite. All bedrooms have Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and antique sleigh beds. The detached studio has it's own full bath and kitchenette. Enjoy the beauty and peaceful tranquility of this one-of-a kind lakefront estate. Listen to the sounds of nature, the frogs on the 2 acre pond and the owls at night. Watch the abundant wildlife roam and the sheep and cattle graze. Gather fresh eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop in the barn. Wander through the redwoods and along the creek that runs through the trees. Walk along Kellogg Beach 2 miles down the country road and fly a kite or beachcomb for shells, driftwood and other treasures. Leave in a relaxed state of mind. This property was above and beyond any of our expectations. It fit every need we had. The wedding was absolutely a dream wedding. The weather was in our favor and absolutely perfect. My husband and I, his parents and his two sons, all stayed here for 4 fantastic days. We had our wedding reception inside/outside the barn, which is romantic, rustic, kitsch and well outfitted for celebrations. The owners also rented us all the tables, chairs, dishes and barware for the occasion, and were key in finding local vendors for catering, hair, etc. I also had a family rehearsal dinner at the main house and there were people on the porch, around the campfire outside, in the kitchen, etc. Such a great place to spread out and get comfy with your loved ones. What a beautiful setting! We will be back for family vacations in the future.

Pictures and descriptions just can’t do the property justice! Becky met us at the property to show us around, it had everything we needed and more. Examples are the FULLY stocked kitchen, we cooked all our meals there, even baked a birthday cake, we had it all! The deck was beautiful, all across the back of the house, sunset was gorgeous and we even saw elk in the distance near the lake. The house is enormous for a family of 5, everyone had space. It felt very safe, set out in a large gated property. If you’re wondering if you should book this, do it, you won’t be sorry!

Perfect location for a getaway! Peaceful and intimate. We stayed from Thursday through Sunday and had an amazing time. This location is a must see to truly appreciate all the amenities.

A couple years ago I got married here and loved it. We came back a year later to celebrate my husbands birthday. This time however, was a very different experience.
Without going into detail, I’ll just share that the communication with the owners is the worst of any stay I’ve been at. They don’t respond and they don’t reach back out.
Being a returning guest -who actually fixed some broken wedding equipment for them the last time- I thought it would be a special trip. But it turned out they were trying to charge me extra for all kinds of things with absolutely no communication between us. I guess they assumed they could get away with it.
I’m very disappointed and this would have been somewhere I’d come back to for years. Now I’ll never book with them again and I’ll have to share exactly why with people I know.

Great stay in Crescent City. This is an amazing property. The location is close to all the Redwoods has to offer. Within easy driving distance to Redwoods National and State Parks to the south and east, and to the beaches and harbors around Crescent City There are so many positives about the property, it is hard to even begin. There are fields surrounding the property with sheep and even a Llama. Two of the young sheep even slipped out of their fence each day to graze in the yard. There is a nice fire pit area with chairs and a clean grill. The chickens in the barn will even leave you eggs each morning for breakfast. The home is spacious and the kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of room for our group of six adults. The check-in process was excellent, with a private tour of the property. This is a gated property, so everyone felt very safe during the stay. I highly recommend this property to anyone traveling in the area.

Wonderful host, Becky graciously took time out of her day to show us the property when we first got to the home. Peaceful place to vacation. Expansive grounds with beautiful scenery. We rented this amazing property for my Dad's 70th birthday, 10 years ago. We had an amazing time at the property (small family reunion) and he requested we do it again, 10 years later. This time, we also rented the Barn/Event Site for the family reunion and it turned out FANTASTIC. Lots of room for the family and kids. Outdoor BBQ and fire pit with s'mores was a hit. Will plan on another event and will book again. Dennis and Becky (owners) were great at providing everything needed for the BBQ/Party. Love this property!!!

Really fun and relaxing home/property to stay at.
Easy to check in. The owners are very responsive to any questions you may have. The property is beautiful with tons of space to stretch out and explore. Aside from the lambs, donkey's, llama and chickens, there is a herd of elk that roam the property. It's absolutely an incredible place to stay and will help you truly enjoy your visit to northern California and the redwoods.

We loved getting the chance to escape to this area. The hottub was perfect after a long day seeing the Redwoods and spending time at two nearby beaches. Oregon is just 20 minutes away too. There are also Redwoods on the property to see. This is a beautiful place to stay. Amy was super nice and helpful whenever we needed something. We highly recommend.

This is a very unique and tranquil place to relax near the city. The animals were great fun and the house is very well equipped with all the basics. The views of the sunset from the deck were amazing. It was a bit difficult to connect with the owners to get access code to the house but it seems that is not usually the case. Highly recommend the property
