About this house rental
This beautiful 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home comfortably sleeps 5. Our home features original hardwood floors, 10 foot ceilings, with an updated kitchen and bathroom. The master bedroom includes a full size bed with a large closet and a window unit air conditioner. The second bedroom provides a twin bed with a small office area. The living room has a comfortable queen sized sofa bed and also has a window unit air conditioner. This charming home also has a large front porch, perfect for relaxing outdoors. The home is located in Wausau's River Front District, just a few blocks from restaurants, bars, a great bakery and historic Downtown Wausau. Within a few blocks of our home you can watch the Wisconsin Woodchuck's play at Athletic Park, launch your kayak in the Wisconsin River, or grab some deep fried cheese curds at the B&R Grill and Swill. In the winter months, enjoy the outdoor ice rink in Downtown Wausau or take a short 10 minute drive to the Granite Peak Ski Area. We feel very fortunate to call the City of Wausau home and look forward to sharing the area with you! No pets and no smoking, please.

We loved staying at this adorable home. It’s like walking back in time as soon as you step in the door. We would definitely love to stay there again.

Clean & convenient to Wausau sights. Walking distance to downtown. We spent 3 nights & enjoyed cooking & eating in the house as well as eating in Wausau's many restaurants & bars. We did forget 4 types of excellent cheese (purchased at the Saturday morning winter market) in the fridge, so we hope our hosts enjoy good cheese!

This place was perfect for my needs. It was well stocked with all supplies for a comfortable stay. Beds were comfy and location was great. Communication was some of the best I've experienced with any vacation rental. Definitely recommend.

I had wondered whether were going to be cramped for the 2 and half weeks we stayed, but there was plenty of room for the four if us in what was a sweet home away from home.
The house is centrally cooled which kept us cool during the summer warmth. We loved sitting in the morning sun on the porch for breakfast as we watched the squirrels playing on the lawn. Al and Keele were extra helpful at the time we booked and when we had trouble with the washing machine, Al was able to fix it for us quickly.
The only thing I would suggest is an update of the beds which were old and noisy.
We would definitely recommend this lovely house for a comfortable stay in Wausau, and would definately stay again if we are able to.

Very clean and comfortable. Slept well. Hosts very responsive. Appropriately furnished and equipped with what is needed for an extended stay. Easy walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. Best 2 bedroom/ 1 bath accommodation in Wausau. Will plan to stay here again. We usually try to add something to enhance quality of house as an act of appreciation for rental but nothing was apparently needed.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was as described in the listing. The plus was that the house was spotless.
The hosts were very responsive to any questions. They were also accommodating on an unexpected date change.
This house is in within walking distance of fun activities near the river, restaurants and downtown Wausau. We visited Wausau during a snowstorm (hosts cleared snow around property) and can only imagine how fun it would be to visit when weather permits walking.

The house was conveniently located near the historic area and restaurants. We had easy access to the high way for the ski slopes. It was clean and well supplied.

This house is in the middle of everything you would need. You can see the Granite Peak Resort from the front porch and it is really a short 10 minute drive to the slopes assuming the traffic lights on Bridge Street cooperate. In all fairness the kitchen is a little dated but fully functional. During the Pandemic we were able to cook meals without issue. The house is within walking distance to a lot of cool places to eat. The hosts are extremely responsive to questions/requests. We stayed here for three years in a row and schedule our ski trips based on availability of this house as I believe that for a small group this is the best option in Wausau.

The house was just right for an adult and child. My niece loved her little room. It was quiet and cozy. There was enough kitchen equipment for us to eat our meals in. It was close and convenient to the attractions that we wanted to visit. An added bonus was that there was central air conditioning rather than two window units as listed.

Great House and Location
This house is perfect for a couple of skiiers/snowboarders who want to be close to Granite Peak (10 minutes). The house was clean and warm. Woke up one morning and it was -8 and the house was comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best review that I can give is that we have stayed here before and will try to stay again on future visits to Wausau.

Fantastic experience
This charming house exceeded our family’s expectations. Great single-family older home with lots of character. Well equipped with all the necessities. The hosts went above and beyond, including a fully prepared kitchen (e.g. coffee filters, paper towels, spices, dishes of all types, Ice cubes, even ziplock bags.) Has a driveway with parking for 2 cars, and it was plowed for easy access.

Excellent Property and Great Location
Description and pictures are right on the money. Best review that I can give is that we would come back here in a heart beat. Excellent location for a trip to Rib Mountain. You can see the ski hill from the porch. It is nine minutes to the hill. Can come back for lunch without paying the ridiculous prices in the lodge. Located within minutes of very good restaurants. Definitely check out the Redeye Brew Pub.
The house is old but they don’t build them like this anymore. It was below zero one morning when we got up and the house was very comfortable.
Keele and Al are excellent hosts. Responded to messages within minutes.

Charming Home In Wausau
We stayed at this property for a New Years Snow Board trip. Very close to Granite Peak (about an 8 minute drive) and great restaurants around town! We had a lot of snow the day we came up, and the owners of the property where there the next day while we were out snowboarding to snow blow the driveway! and shovel the sidewalk for us! Very thoughtful! I would definitely recommend this charming home for any ski/snowboard trips to Granite Peak! Home had everything you needed and extra bedding, blankets. Very clean.

First visit to Wisconsin
We really enjoyed our first vacation in Wisconsin, and this cute, clean, comfortable home was a big part of it! The pictures are accurate, and the house is really close to everything in town. Everything that we needed to cook, play games, or just hang out, was provided. Keele and Al were really responsive when we had questions, and they left a list of things to do in town, which was helpful. We had a wonderful stay!

Great place to stay near downtown Wausau!
Had a wonderful 3 night stay. House was very clean and well stocked; had everything we needed. Nice firm queen size bed with warm down comforter. House was very comfortable, perfect for the two of us. Could accommodate 3-5. Liked the new tile in kitchen and hallway and original wood floors. Reminds us of Grandma's house with the arched doorways and 10' ceilings. Location is quiet with easy access to main roads in a safe neighborhood of older homes beginning to redevelop. Local bakery nearby is a nice gem. A chain and an independent grocery store are within 5 min drive. 6-8 blocks to downtown with museums, retail and nice restaurants. It was our first visit to the area and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Owners communicated well with us and were quick to return the deposit upon checkout. Great experience! Highly recommended!

A cozy little home away from home!
After staying in hotels on numerous trips to Wausau, I'd take this little home hands down, on any future visits! It's quiet and clean and the kitchen is very well equipped! I also loved the location, close to my favorite part of the downtown and within walking distance of 2 grocery stores and most of all quite close to the river where you can walk for miles along a paved trail and there are plenty of comfy chairs and nooks along the path to sit and take in the view/sun and have a picnic! My only suggestion would be a mattress pad for the main guest room--it was a bit firm and I got a little sore. A serrated knife in the kitchen would be fabulous as well for food prep. Thanks so much for a wonderful getaway!! I'd highly recommend this little home!! :)

Fun throwback
This cozy little place had an other worldly feel to it, as if stepping back in time. It was clean and cozy. The neighborhood is a little funky, but it’s close to everything in downtown Wausau. We enjoyed our stay.
