About this house rental
Spring Special - March and April - $200/night 3 night minimum. Note.. This is a Friday to Friday rental during the summer months. There are partial weeks available according to calendar. We have a no pet policy. Come visit beautiful Lake Gaston. We are located in northern NC & southern VA with 350 miles of shoreline and the main lake is 35 miles long. Our wonderful, 2-story A-frame is located on the water in a large cove with a main lake view. On the main level is the master bedroom with a king size bed. The second bedroom has a king size bed. Two full bathrooms are on the main level... one off the hall, one off the master. The front room facing the lake includes a large kitchen/den which is the total width of the house. This is a well stocked kitchen with a large table so that you can enjoy the view as you enjoy your meal. The basement is two bedrooms. The first bedroom has 2 queens and the second bedroom has a king size bed. A washer and dryer are located in the basement. The basement is entirely ceramic tile. Large windows are a focal point of the house and give great views of the lake. Outside, the upper covered deck is equipped with tables and plenty of seating when grilling out on the gas grill while viewing the wide open view of the lake. The outdoor fire pit is perfect for family marshmallow roasting and story telling. The dock includes an upper sun deck and large main deck. There is tie up space for a boat on the side of the dock. We also have electrical outlets on the dock. A neighborhood launch is located about 3/4 mile away. The water depth at the end of the dock is about 8 feet. This is a NON-smoking property which includes the decks and patios Weekly rental- Friday to Friday No pets. The property is protected by security cameras covering entry points. These cameras are disabled once guests have arrived until departure date. We enjoyed our stay here. Nicely renovated home right on lake gaston. The owner was very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend staying here for a lake getaway.

Beautifully remodeled home 2 bedrooms upstairs and then 2 bedrooms downstairs. Very clean and modern home with a great view of the Lake from the house. The outside deck on the house was perfect place to relax and watch the lake as well as watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee. The house is only about 20 yards from the waterfront, so the view from the house is just as good as sitting on the dock. My only complaint is I had to leave to go back to work….

I booked this home during a quick Spring Break vacation for my family and we loved every second! The large deck allowed for family gatherings with a beautiful, unobstructed view of the lake, and the cleanliness of the home and property let me know the owners took care of the venue. The property manager was easily accessible and communication was easy and prompt.
I will definitely book this same listing again in the future and would recommend it to both family and friends.

This property was perfect for a relaxing getaway! It was clean and very well supplied. The kitchen is best I have experienced as they provided all the basic necessities (soap, paper towels, trash bags etc.) and it was well organized. There were 3 of us and we all loved the home, the view and the availability of comfortable outside seating on the porch. We were here in nightime freezing temps (below 30), the downstairs heater provided plenty of warmth, though it was a challenge at times to regulate the temp of the room.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back with warmer weather to enjoy all the water activities along with relaxing on their 2 story boathouse/dock. Also with comfortable furniture!
Diane (the owner) was responsive, helpful and checked to make sure we were enjoying our stay and didn't need anything. It was "Just Perfect."

Our family went here for a Thanksgiving getaway and it was exactly what we needed! The house is beautiful and the lake view is amazing! Kitchen is fully stocked which was a bonus too! Fantastic long weekend - hope to do it again.

We have stayed at many houses on Lake Gaston over the years and this one is our favorite so far. Nice view all the way out to the main lake. Everything we needed for an end to the summer getaway. Nice big double decker dock to fish, swim, boat and just relax on. The house has been renovated with all new furnishings, so it felt very comfortable and clean! We would definitely stay again and hoping we can!

Upgrades to house were a pleasant surprise. More thank enough seating for multiple families. Boat dock is where we spent most of our time, absolutely gorgeous views of the lake.

The house was great! Looks like they just remodeled and everything was brand new. Layout of the house allows for amble room for all.
HUGE back porch overlooking the water, porch is covered, which kept it nice and cool even during the heat of the day.
Nice big dock that had room for multiple people to fish and hang out, even with my boat tied up.
The house is located just across the cove from the clubhouse and pool. It was quicker to boat over vs driving.
The owner was great, she checked in via email after we arrived to make sure everything was good.
we plan on renting this house again.

We loved the early mornings. The lake offered Dense fog that slowly burned -off revealing a beautiful vista. It was quiet and just right for us to enjoy our time together.

This place is great, especially if you love water. The cove is very quiet and virtually no waves at all. The dock is great with plenty of seating for hanging out under cover as well as a top deck for some sun. The house is nice with great views. Bedrooms are plenty big and there are 2 bathrooms. The place is clean and well kept. It is pretty bare so you'll want to bring everything with you (soap, bottled water, coffee, etc.). The place is a little hard to find in the dark but not bad at all. If backing in a trailer I highly recommend just pulling straight in and backing out later - the culdesac just isn't big enough to get backed in properly without several adjustments. The boat ramp is close and nice but if you have a larger truck (4 doors) it is a bit of a wiggle act to get it launched. However, it is possible. We launched a 22' boat with a crew cab truck, just takes a little patience. We have kids but didn't bring them on this trip. Absolutely would do so though. We'll likely stay here again, very cool location. If you're looking for something fun - check out AF Wake for wakeboard and wakesurfing trips and training. Adam and his staff are awesome and we will be back!

Enjoyed long fall weekend. Was nicely supplied for kitchen. Lots of outdoor lounging space overlooking the lake. A few cons: We needed to supply our own linens and towels. Added to extra packing for a short weekend. Also need to dispose of your own garbage and recycling. Didn’t open until 11am, which is check out time but owner was very accommodating.Also there was no hair dryer and only one heater for the 2 lower rooms. Obviously not a summer issue. Nice rustic feel but could use a deep cleaning of floors , ceiling fans and windows.

The location and dock are the best things about this house. The community boat ramp around the corner was also very convenient. The kitchen was well stocked, beds were very comfortable and both bathrooms were small, but functional. Having another living space in the lower level was a definite plus for our grown boys. By far, the outdoor space is the biggest draw. The two level dock is awesome - we only wished we knew the boat slip was not available for renters to use. As a result, we had to put the cover on our boat every day to keep the afternoon rains out. Would have been better to be able to pull our boat into the slip under the dock. There is a small covered porch accessible from the kitchen which was very quaint and comfortable for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. The other "wish" is for sheets and towels to be provided - not sure if it wasn't provided because of our partial week (5 days) rental. Other confusing part was conflicting messages from homeaway and the owner regarding deposit. The owners, however, were very responsive by email and text. The electronic lock worked great and we didn't have to bother with physical keys whenever we left the house. The Food Lion is up the road, very convenient. Watersview Restaurant was also excellent and reasonably priced. The lake is beautiful and the location was perfect. Overall a very good experience.

This is my second time renting this house. It's comfortable, accessible, and accommodating. It's well-stocked and clean. I don't know what I enjoy more - fishing off the dock, reading on the veranda, or just watching the lake at sunrise or sunset. I intend to rent this house again in the fall.

We booked this location for a our 2nd annual 'reunion' of old college friends. The house is spacious and has everything we needed. We really enjoyed the 2 level dock and the fishing was great. Couldn't ask for a better view of the lake and a breathtaking sunrise in the morning.
Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, great setup in the living room, lots space to sleep and the beds were comfortable.
Would highly recommend and would rent from the owners again.

I am reluctant to write this review as I fear it may become more difficult to find an available week in the future, but fair is fair! Several members of the family came together here and we had a blast! The house itself was very comfortable and roomy with a spacious common area for laughing and unwinding. We had a hard time waking everyone up in the morning so it's safe to say the beds slept very well. The large deck was great for grillin', chillin', and enjoying a peaceful view of the lake.
The boathouse deck was very accomodating as well. The bottom level was large and worked well as place to fish from or launch into the water from. The depth was around 11 feet at the end, perfect for cannonballs! We were also able to stage our towables from deck and within a short tow, we were pulling tubers all over the cove. The upper deck was great for sunbathers during the day and fishing at night. I have been to the lake many times and the catfishing from here is some of the best I've ever experienced. We caught 7 blue cats over 32" and one channel cat nearly 30". Throw in the other keepers, and we have quite a few bags of fillets in the freezer.
As for the location, it's very convenient from the road and from the water. The main channel of the lake is a few hundred yards away and the cove itself is very wide for playing in the boat. At night, it's far enough away from the road that the only sound you can hear is the wildlife of the lake and an occassional A/C unit. The Food Lion is only a few miles down the road if the need for supplies arises.
I would definitely like to visit here again.

My sons and I enjoyed our spontaneous Spring Break trip. We ended up with just the three of us, but the house could have accommodated two families or a large group.
The owners were very easy with which to communicate...especially after I left my suitcase behind including my directions how to enter the house! I could not get cell phone reception at the house (which could be a good thing!), but easily got by once I got in and connected to wifi.
There really should be a picture of the great room...when you get in and open the curtains, the WHOLE length of the house is nothing but sliding glass doors looking out on the lake. I didn't want to leave!

Beautiful house and dock on the lake. Last minute decision to go up for the weekend. The owners were great at getting us in quickly. Well stocked. Lots of room to spread out.

We stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday.. It was amazing!! Our first time at the lake was exceptional!! The area is quiet, the house was roomy, clean, amazing view and the neighbor was friendly!! The children even caught catfish from the dock! Diane was very friendly and accomodating. We will definately be renting again really soon!!

We were so sad to leave today, one of the best vacations we've taken. Loved the location on the lake. Kids really enjoyed jumping from the top deck. We all caught lots of fish from the dock, some of the kids caught their first fish. Loved that Food Lion, Ace Hardware, and the ABC store were not far from the house. House was nicely stocked and clean. Lots of great memories made at this house. Looking forward to renting again!!!

Our family visited with our friends family and had a great time. The house is very nice and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the lake and the pool at the clubhouse. It was nice to sit on the deck and just relax and watch the kids swim and fish by the dock. My 7 year old caught her first fish there and is now hooked on fishing! Thank you so much for the wonderful memories!

We stayed here on our first trip to Lake Gaston this spring. It was wonderful. The house is conveniently located just off the main lake. Out of the crazy traffic, but close enough to the fun. Brought our boat and really enjoy the luxury of having it nearby. We can't wait to plan our next trip!

Our family spent a long weekend here, celebrating the year's birthdays. A fabulous time was had by all despite a bit of rain. The house was great for our family of 5. Best part: The view of the sunrise from the deck is perfect. We'll be back.
