We were hoping to spend some more time outside in the yard and around the firepit. Outside was not well lit for outdoor enjoyment in the evening.

Our second stay at the Bee House was just as lovely as the first. Our two kids absolutely loved running around the yard, spotting deer, and catching fireflies. The layout is great, really maximizing the space, and the hosts are super responsive. We had a great week away!

This the perfect place to unwind and still be within 20-25 minutes of Ithaca. Immaculate house and couldn’t be in a better natural setting. Plus the proprietor is lovely and responsive.

We had a wonderful time at Bee House. It was very relaxing. The house was extremely clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Some outlets didn't work and Shirley made every attempt to get them repaired but we had a work-around so it wasn't a problem. The property was lovely, just like the pictures. Very comfortable place to stay. The entire place was full of personal details and artwork. Everything we needed to cook a meal was there. The beds were comfortable and the view was very pretty. The property itself is very private and you can't even really see it from the road. The hostess, Shirley, was very attentive to our needs and was able to give information about what to do and where to eat in the area. We will definitely come back again!!

Fantastic location 15 minutes from Ithaca. Beautiful, peaceful setting, layout is perfect for families and small groups. Don't miss quaint Trumansburg! Excellent recommendations from the hosts and Shirley and Rich made us feel very welcome.

The Bee House is absolutely beautiful, immaculate, surrounded by nature, filled with art and everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing (or energizing) stay! The surroundings and wildlife add to the serenity. Shirley and Rich are amazing hosts!

The owner was very kind and helpful. The house and yard were perfect for our family. But if you rent this property, do it for the view! Gorgeous at every time of day. Recharged our spirits. An absolute treat!

This is a very pleasant house overlooking a babbling creek. Modern interior, conveniences, etc., and clean. Easy access to Ithaca (where our son was visiting Cornell for a couple of days) and surrounding areas. Communicative and accommodating host whose art work (pottery in particular) graces this home. Looking forward to a return visit!

Our group spent a lovely, relaxing, and productive few days in this private and extremely well-furnished property. Everything was immaculately prepared prior to our arrival, and the furnishings were amazingly complete and comfortable. Great access to local attractions. Highly recommended.

Almost perfect for our relaxed retreat. We really enjoyed our stay. Trivia: The slope of the land down to the creek made for a somewhat difficult "climb" back up for an octogenarian.

Our family of 5 just enjoyed a nice getaway (first of pandemic times!) at this property. It's a cozy house with all the modern amenities you'd want located in a lovely, serene setting about 15 mins from Ithaca. It was exactly as described and communication with the owner was top notch. We enjoyed reading about the history of the property; it clearly means a lot to the owners who have put a lot of time and effort into it. Tons of shade, beautiful creek in the back yard, grill, fire pit, and more. We had zero issues throughout the whole process and our stay. Only thing worth noting is the 2nd bedroom is a bit tiny with a small-ish bed in it. We expected this and were fine with it. (We gave the 3 kids the bigger bedroom and were fine for a few nights with a smaller bed). Owner made sure extra cots were available which worked great for our 4 yr old. Thank you for making our first time VRBO experience an amazing one!

Cozy, quiet, comfortable little cottage with all the amenities of home

From check-in to check-out the stay at the Bee House was relaxing and stress free. The house was super clean, well appointed and just as I expected from the listing and photos. I look forward to returning to take advantage of the property when it isn't so chilly and rainy, and to see the trees and flowers in bloom, but even during the unpredictable Spring season the stay was very enjoyable.

We arrived just before sunset as the last glimmers of light caressed the sky. From the outside deck, the beauty and sound from Taughannock Creek made its presence known. The property is private and beautifully maintained. We would love to see it during summer and fall. Exceptionally clean and we felt safe. Our trip was booked two days before arrival (very spontaneous). Clear communication and instructions made it possible. The bedrooms are on either side of the house adding privacy to the open floor plan. Everything is of high quality; amenities like a full kitchen with spices, baking, and cooking essentials; smores kit, umbrellas, towels, laundry detergent, bathroom essentials, you name it, the Bee House has everything to make it truly feel like a home away from home. Two full baths allow for two couples/small families to stay comfortably. The musical instruments, puzzles, and smores sticks were all favorites and kept both my 13 and 9 year old entertained while I took in all the beauty (with provided yoga mat) by essentially the wall of windows facing the creek. There is a small deck off the music room which has a great view of the creek, firepit, and surrounding woods. House is at the end of a driveway near but far enough from the owner's home making it completely private. Shirley took the time to show us around her studio where we learned how and why she started making pottery. All of her work is displayed throughout the Bee House. There's a certain magic about the land and home. Perfect respite location. Near all hiking and nearby attractions i.e. waterfalls. I wish I could post pics. Don't think twice, book. Hopefully, one day I/we will return. I will always remember the Bee House.

Shirley was fantastic! The Bee House had beautiful views of the creek complete with wildlife. It’s close to many wineries & breweries. Beds are comfortable and the location is very quiet. Kitchen is very nice and easy to cook in. We will definitely be staying again.

Came up to Ithaca area to visit daughter in Cornell for a 3-day weekend. This was an amazing property to stay at. Drive to Ithaca about 20 minutes. Located on a large property with a beautiful view of a river / stream right in the back yard. Fire pit outside. Chairs by the river. Huge floor to ceiling windows to better experience the outdoor beauty. Interior was immaculate. Not a speck of dirt to be found! Modern kitchen appliances. Everything (including washer / dryer) in tip-top shape! Quaint Town of Trumansburg like 2 miles away. Excellent communication with the owner. A perfect VRBO to enjoy nature / visit Ithaca / or visit kids in college. Wonderful experience. Highly recommended
