We have stayed here twice and love the quiet and nature. Plenty of space and great view. Walk to two great snorkeling beaches and short ride to others. Clean and well stocked. Layout is great with one bedroom separate from other two. If we get back to at John again we would not stay anywhere else!

We were very pleased at the separation and privacy of the two bedrooms. Worked well for two couples. Wonderful views and very peaceful. We explored every day -birding and snorkeling.

This property is located on the far south end of the island. It was a great place to relax and access Coral Bay and Salt pond beach. The house comfortable for our party of 5 adults. We loved being on the screened patio. Great access to the national park.

Want to get away from all the tourist and commission this is the place to stay. Best beaches within a minute drive.

This was our first trip to St. John, and Mango Villa was a great place to explore from! The house was just as represented, including a very well-equipped kitchen, which we always appreciate. We enjoyed breakfasts on the screened porch every day, grilled something for dinner most evenings, and packed lunches for the cooler (so glad to have that!) when we went out exploring. Some beaches were close enough to be "walk-able" but as senior citizens we chose to drive our rented jeep. There were lots of beaches we didn't get to, and we didn't try any hiking because it was very hot. We could have gotten up early and hiked, but we like to sleep in on vacations! We hope to return to St. John in the future!

I stayed with a group of 4 friends for a week at Mango Villa and we had a great time! It was just what we needed, with easy access the hiking and beaches for snorkeling and relaxing. Would highly recommend!

Pros: Quiet, clean, fully equipped, walking distance to good snorkel beaches(Salt pond, Grovepan) and a trail.
Cons: Longer drive from other attractions.
The owners have provided useful info about the villa, beaches, and car rental and driving directions. Our questions before the trip were quickly answered. We had a heavy storm the first night stay there and power was out. We contacted the owners, who have quickly had the issue resolved.

We had a really nice stay. So many great beaches sites within near proximity to the house. Location is o. The quiet and more rustic side of the island, which is what we wanted.

Super cool off the beaten path home.
Beautiful view of Grootpan Bay and Salt Pond. We had Rainbows 3/5 mornings after a brief shower. Snorkled 8 bays in 4 days plus Ramshead and Annenburg Plantation. Place was totally stocked with spices, sunscreen, firstaide kit, fans, snorkle gear, information books, ect. Even had a half dozen eggs and 4 cold beers in the fridge when we got there.
About 40 minutes from Cruz Bay and 15 minutes from Coral Bay. East side soooo much laid back then city side. Perfect to chill out.
Brianne was excellent host. We could tell
she care alot about her family house.
Would definitely return to Mango Villa.

My wife and I spent 10 nights at Mango Villa and it could not have been better. It's a world away from the bustle of Cruz Bay and exactly what we were looking for. We planned to explore more of the island but ended up spending most of our time snorkeling at Lameshur, Kiddel, and Grootpan as well as hiking to Reef Bay. The kitchen was well-stocked, the master bedroom was cool and comfy, and the screened-in porch had great views and was perfect for meals and readlng. We will definitely be back!

The villa was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The large Brita and many ice cube trays made hiking water bottle prep easy. The AC in the bedrooms kept us cool after a day of adventuring. We enjoyed playing the “St. John - opoly” they had and loved the little blue and yellow bananaquit birds who came to visit the bird bath!
The villa is on the quiet side of the island, right next to Lamshur Bay and the Rams Head trail. It takes about 40 minutes to get here from Cruz bay, but the secluded location is so peaceful, and without any light pollution, the nighttime sky is incredible!
There is no shortage of wildlife to see, and we saw turtles on every beach we visited! Abundant coral, bright fish, sting rays, and more - this was truly an escape for nature lovers.
A few tips:
1) Recylables are collected at ReSource Depot on Gifft Hill Road behind Tony’s kitchen. They take #1, #2, #5 plastics and aluminum!
2) Chemical sunscreens are illegal on the island to protect the abundant coral. Remember to use only Zinc or Titanium sunscreens :)

My husband and I brought our 2 year old son and four friends for a week on St. John's and Mango Villa was the perfect home base. We could spend all day adventuring the come back to a quiet and beautiful spot. The house was very well equipped, and we cooked many meals there and enjoyed them on the screened in deck. We were in close proximity to some gorgeous beaches and good snorkeling plus we got to see tons of birds, hermit crabs, lizards, and deer without even leaving home. We will definitely be coming back here!

Lovely Home, Wonderful Location
Husband and I stayed at Mango Villa for two weeks, and heavens don't I miss it. Miss the view over Grootpan and the green hills alongside; all the amenities that make it a great beach house (a spacious and comfortably furnished screen porch, a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge that actually keeps things cold, reading lamps next to the bed- and a clothesline!); the snorkeling at Kiddel, Grootpan, Salt Pond and the Lameshurs- all a short walk or drive away; and the breezeway between the main house and the master bedroom, which was a great staging area for our gear.
Also, the WiFi works great for those who need to do some work when they travel. And finally, shhh... I think this villa is one of the best bargains on the island!

My husband and I stayed at this lovely home for a month to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. We are active hikers, snorkelers, and divers and everything we needed was at the house-coolers, beach chairs, towels, noodles and an outdoor shower. The deck was the best feature of the house. We had breakfast each morning under the covered deck and looked directly at the water. Dinner was in the screened-in porch and we star-gazed each night on the open deck. The road to the house was rocky and rough, and the driveway was narrow and steep but we had no trouble with our Jeep. Would definitely recommend renting a Jeep. We made most meals at home and the kitchen had all appliances and cookware we needed. It is a 15-minute curvy, hilly drive to the restaurants in Coral Bay so either we cooked at home or had an early dinner to avoid driving in the dark. Overall, a very positive experience. Pictures online truly represent the house, and the owners were available and responsive from the time of booking and throughout our stay. I can recommend Mango Villa without reservation. You will not be disappointed.

All about the porch!!
This house was perfect for us. My aunt enjoyed having her own private space, and my immediate family and I enjoyed the main house. However the screened in porch with the most comfortable chairs and large table is where we spent most of our time... what q great space.

We had a wonderful family spring break with our 2 tweens. The space suited us perfectly and was decorated in a fun, artistic Caribbean style. It was comfortable and everything we needed for cooking in was available. Mornings and evenings on the screened patio were amazing. We especially loved the birds and colony of hermit crabs that live by the walk (which has exquisite plantings!)

Absolute paradise
What can be better than rolling over in bed in the morning and seeing the beautiful Caribbean water? Mango Villa is the perfect place for it! We came to St. John to celebrate my 50th birthday and loved it here on the quiet side of the island.
Close enough to the fine restaurants and the wonderful snorkeling all over the island! We found it easy to go out in the morning to snorkeling or hang out on one of the beaches, drive back to the house to shower and then head out for dinner. Loved how close we were to Salt Pond Bay, where we got to see turtles as we snorkeled!
The screened in porch was a big hit - great to sit out on any time of day. We made use of the grill with some local fish (yum!). The other amenities like the TV and games were nice, but we were so tired at the end of the day, we didn't even use them.
We will definitely be back to St. John. And I definitely recommend Mango Villa for a wonderful, slow paced vacation!! 5 stars all around!

Mango Villa was just what we needed! This very nice home was well stocked with all of the basics for cooking and housekeeping, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. But the best part was how peaceful and beautiful the setting was. Do yourself a favor and rent a Jeep for the drive up the access road (and for a lot of the drive in St John, for that matter), but once there we heard only the sound of the surf in the distance, the wind, the occasional brief rainshower, and the birds who visited on the deck. On the few occasions that the mosquitoes got too insistent, the screened in porch (which also looks down across the Salt Pond and the surf beyond) gave us the perfect place to sit and talk and just listen to the silence. We got in the habit of cooking breakfast, driving to one of the many nearby hikes, and ending the hike on a beach where we could swim or snorkel. after a quick trip back to the villa for a shower, we would then drive into Coral Bay or Cruz Bay for a great dinner (Lime Inn quickly became our favorite). All in all, an amazing place and an amazing stay. Thank you.

Great view, close to great snorkeling on St John
Property was as advertised. Very quiet and well stocked from kitchen to bath and bedrooms. Fantastic porch that even had canvas "blinds" to shade when the sun was in the west. If you are looking for quiet and off the grid, with comfort and room, this is your place.

Nice house on the quiet side of the island
We had a great time and greatly enjoyed all the extras the owner provided like beach towels, chairs, coolers, snorkel equipment etc. The night sky from the balcony was amazing. The owner was very responsive to all of my questions and the information provided was very helpful! This property is on the quiet side of the island so the roads were more difficult but the crowds were much less. You have to have a high clearance vehicle (like a jeep) to get to this property! When we visited the two beaches that are about a 5-10 minute walk from the house we were the only ones there!

St John is beautiful
The island is beautiful and has some of the best beaches and snorkeling. This property is about a 30-45 min drive from Cruz Bay and the beaches on this side are pretty but differ from the more well known beaches- more rocks and not as kid friendly in my opinion. The house was fine- unable to use the washer and dryer when staying for a week which was an oversight on my part when booking. Left a message with the property maintenance/cleaner and got a text back 5 days later. Had to clean the floors upon arrival- pretzel crumbs and popcorn in the living area, which is a concern due to bugs. Also had to make the bed in one of the guest rooms. The bugs (ants mainly) are ridiculous in the main bathroom and you have to remove your stuff or the get all over. Little things like that were bothersome after a long day of traveling but it all worked out fine and we enjoyed the trip despite the issues. Personally, we have been to St John many times and will not be staying at this location again.

Great place and location
For those who want to get away from both Cruz Bay and even Coral Bay, this is a great spot. Remote yet not isolated. We found the location between the beaches to be just right.

Secluded delight for our family
The house worked very well for our three generation family plus a toddler. Stand out features are three bedrooms each with their own air conditioner, large deck both open and screened in with safe rail system, full kitchen and interior living space- all on one floor. The view was stunning, centered on a salt pond, Grootpan Bay and sunsets. Getting to some of St John’s secluded beaches is just a short walk and you feel like a local. The very popular Salt Pond/Rams Head is a short drive or walk. Getting to The Lameshurs is also close by but the road is poor and not for every vehicle. This is St John off the beaten path yet close to Coral Bay amenities. The owner was easy to communicate with and presented the property accurately and followed through on requests we made. At the time of this review the Island is still recovering from Irma to some extent. The reviewers are the senior couple of this party. We have been coming to St John for 30 years. We hope to stay at Mango Villa in the future.

Perfect location for a family vacation
What a lovely, comfortable place to call home while visiting the island of St John. Three bedrooms with air conditioning and comfortable queen beds (one bedroom also has a twin bed), two bathrooms with tiled showers, a well furnished screened porch, and a central living area with enough space for six of us to socialize. The kitchen had all the the utensils you could possibly want, including SHARP, useable knives (very important in our family of cooks). It was also a delight to have a full size refrigerator and stove and oven. Everything was clean and attractive. I loved the creative, homey decor.
Our family of six (parents and two grown sons and their wives) spent a fun and relaxing Christmas week at Mango Villa. The Villa is pretty far out, so a car is required for shopping (the markets in Coral Bay are more than adequate) and exploring. But there were days when we could swim or snorkel at Kiddle, Grootpan, or Salt Pond without piling into the car, walking back to the Villa for lunch and a rest before venturing out again. Sometimes it was nice to just relax on the deck or in the screened porch, reading or taking in the beautiful view. It's a very quiet area, no nightlife at all and a long and twisty drive to get to any, so be aware of that if nightlife is your thing (it isn't ours). The owners were kind and easy to deal with, even emailing me a few days before our arrival about some food and condiments left in the fridge that we were welcome to use and letting us know that there was coffee, salt, sugar, etc. available. It made planning and shopping for the first day or so that much easier. Thank you, Brianna!
The only negative thing about our stay was that we were there in
the rainy season and that meant that wee, biting no seeums were out in force. That was not the fault of Mango Villa or its owners, nor was it unique to Mango. (When we went to buy anti-itch stuff at Chelsea Pharmacy in Cruz Bay they were nearly sold out of a lot of kinds.) Just be prepared with repellent, anti-itch lotion and spray, and use the insect coils that are there at the house. We congregated in the main room at night with the fans running, enjoying each others' company and avoiding the company of the bugs. They certainly did not ruin our vacation. We hope to return to Mango Villa!

Great Adventure
Property was as described. Very comfortable and well stocked. We had all the comforts of home without the hassles of a resort. There are many beaches and trails close to Mango. Several are within walking distant. Some great restaurants in Coral Bay which is 10 minutes away. We went to at least one if not two beaches everyday. The snorkeling was amazing. Beautiful beaches, trails and scenery what more could you ask for with the comforts of Home at Mango Villa. Here are a few of the things that made up our Great Adventure..Hermit crabs, birds of all kinds, mongoose, goats, donkeys, colorful fish, sea turtles, eels, squid, string rays, deer and some beautiful coral:)

Wonderful Week on St John
We enjoyed our stay at Mango, so close to Saltpond, Kiddel, and Grootpan. We came to snorkel. The east end of the island is really chill and plenty of restaurants to choose from. We never cooked, but there was a grill, stove, microwave and toaster oven. The air conditioned bedrooms were nice to retire to each evening. Before bed we would open the back doors in the living room and listen to the sounds of the jungle surrounding the property. The hermit crabs were fun to watch and so were the birds on the back porch. The living room is not air conditioned, but this is common in St John. The back porch is wonderful and there is plenty of snorkeling and beach equipment provided at the villa. Everything you could think of they have provided at the villa. Clean and comfortable and love the decor. We saw lots of deer around the property also. Beautiful views and peaceful, what more could you ask for. The internet worked fine, no cable which was fine by me, I was there to unplug from every day life. Really not that far from the north shore beaches, took like 15 minutes to get to Maho from the villa. Close to Ram Head trail and other trails in the national park. I would definitely stay here again and hope to soon!

Mango is perfect!
We spent a wonderful week at Mango. We felt at home from the minute we arrived. We loved the decor, and spent many hours on the back deck looking at the salt pond and Grootpan Bay. The screened porch was a favorite in the evening; it was lovely having dinner there, listening to the night sounds.
Mango is perfectly situated-great snorkeling at Kiddle and Grootpan, just 5 minutes walk, and we did 3 hikes that we had never done before-Tektite and Cabritte Horn Point, Europa Bay Trail, and Yawzi Point Trail. All 3 trails were easily accessible from the house.
It was nice to see how St John is coming back after the hurricanes-we noticed a huge difference from last year, and recent rains made the island green again.
Karen and Brianna were very helpful, and provided great information on things to see and do.
Thanks for letting us share your home - truly a bit of paradise.

Beautiful home on amazing island
Mango Villa is a beautiful house located in a very quiet part of the island. The balcony is perched overlooking a salt pond and bay, and so we had all our meals to amazing views. The house is spacious and very well organised so our family of 5 had plenty of room to enjoy our stay. St John has some amazing beaches that are only a short distance away.

St. John’s
Mango Villa is a beautiful house.
We the grandparents of the Group should have gone when the Young People left. Our daughter & Son-in-law enjoyed the hiking & Snorkeling. For us there is just so much snorkeling we could do. If not for the ants, the brackish pond in back & a full day power outage I’d be able to say at least 4stars.

Fantastic location
One of the best things about Estate Mandal is that you can walk to at least three beaches. When we visited two of them we had the beach all to ourselves. We loved watching the hummingbirds and bananaquits on the deck and eating meals on the screened-in porch. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is very well supplied.
