Situated in Bolinas, this charming house for R 13,114 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. This charming and historic multi-family beach home is perched above the ocean with amazing views of the coastline, surf break, and lights of San Francisco. With 5 bedrooms and private parking for 3 cars, this spacious home has enough room to comfortably fit 10 people. The upstairs features a master bedroom with a new king bed and ocean views. The second upstairs bedroom features a new queen bed within earshot of the crashing waves. The downstairs includes three bedrooms - 2 with queen beds and 1 with a bunk bed. In total there are 2 full bathrooms (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs), and half bathroom downstairs as well as a laundry room, 2nd living room / play room and spacious 2nd eat-in kitchen downstairs. Hear the ocean from every room in the house. The main living room with views overlooking the ocean is upstairs. While removed from the traffic and pedestrian noise of downtown, it's only a 5 minute walk to the main beach due to a staircase shortcut. VRBOs mapping says its 16 minutes but its is much faster with the shortcut. 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk to downtown. While the home's size and quiet neighborhood set it apart, it's really all about the stunning ocean views from the bright and sunny upper living room, the deck, and private lawn. The deck has plenty of seating and a gas grill. The large bright living room is lined with ocean-view windows, has a cozy wood fireplace, and comfortable furniture. The private yard is perfect for an afternoon picnic or letting the kids run around. We are dedicated to making sure our guests enjoy their stay as much as we do and we take pride in our 5 star rating. The home is older and rustic much like most of the homes in Bolinas, but it's immaculate, the beds are comfortable and luxurious, and it is stocked with everything needed for a fun and relaxing vacation. We care deeply about our home and our neighbors and ask that you book elsewhere unless you are responsible and respectful of both. We have strict rules in place to keep everyone honest. About Bolinas: Explore the best sleepy beach town in Northern California with more flavor and character than most combined. The house is minutes to the local market, The Coast Cafe (delicious farm to table organic cuisine), Smileys bar (one of the oldest bars in Marin) which features live music every weekend, shops, galleries featuring local artists, and a tennis court that is open to the public on a first come first serve basis. The overall experience was just ok. Coming into the stay our expectations were high based on the rental costs. The hosts were responsive, the checkin/checkout process were as expected. The house seemed like it had been cleaned but not used recently. Lots of spider webs, few dead bugs and even an outlet that had ants coming out of it. The main floor bathroom seemed recently remodeled but most of the rest of the house is dated. We named the the property “the house of a thousand doors”. Lots of double door/walk thru to rooms, rooms within rooms. The basement bathroom was a struggle to use with the lack of water pressure and even has a door that’s caulked shut. Its clear that the property was multiple rentals that are combined into one. It just wasn’t done with much thought. Maybe being from the Midwest our expectations were too high for the California prices. We wouldn’t stay at this property again if given the option.

I wish I could live at this house. The view of the ocean is spectacular and there was every possible thing we could need there. The bedrooms were comfortable and there was lots of room for our daughters, stepdaughters and their children. It was an easy walk to town. We loved the way the house was laid out and two kitchens was such a treat. We celebrated both a 70th birthday and Father's Day and it was wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay with our family at this house. The owners were helpful and accessible. Big house. Plenty of space. Doesn’t have a sunset view but if you’re there during a full moon, well, it was amazing. The walk to the beach was steep - not a walk for the older family members. Still, the view from the back patio is worth every penny.

The perfect beach house for us! So charming and cozy. All you see is ocean-you can smell and hear it from the house! Having the 2 levels was perfect for sharing with other families-lots of room for kids to romp and adults to relax. Thank you to our hosts for sharing this special family home.

This was our 3rd time settling in to the Oceanview property in Bolinas. It had been 5 years and we were so pleased to be back. For us an ideal location...easy walks to the beach and to town, access to supplies at the general store, the natural food store and the hardware store, great food at Coast Cafe and Smiley's, excellent morning coffee and pastries at the coffee window, tasty smoothies and sandwiches at BoVida, and a general laid-back vibe. Once you get there you just want to settle in no matter how many great places you had in mind to visit. We did make one foray into the Russian River wine district and enjoyed a plated/paired six course luncheon at Bricoleur: highly recommended. Walks on the beach and roads, short trips to Agate Beach for the tide pools and sunsets and to the honor system farm stand were about the extent of what we did other than relax and lounge inside and on the deck with perhaps the best view of all. Upgraded kitchen and upstairs bathroom were nice bonuses. Otherwise the same ol' comfy, cozy spot to enjoy each other.

Great Bolinas Beach House
Our family had a great time at this location. Beautiful views, short walk to beach and downtown. Short drive to many excellent hiking opportunities, Point Reyes, Bolinas Ridge. Comfortable and well equipped. We would stay here again!

There was only one key provided in the unreliable lock box and none available from any local address. Some days we split into 3 parties and went in separate directions so in that case we locked the key in the lockbox.
We had real problems when we needed an inhaler that was in the house and it took about half an hour and a lot of fiddling with the controls to get the lockbox open. It was a really bad situation.

It's all about the view here - and it doesn't hurt that it's just a 10 minute walk to downtown either. I wouldn't recommend for someone who can't do a lot of stairs and/or really wants a state of the art kitchen, but we really enjoyed ourselves and the deck space was a big contributor to that. Thanks for the great fall weather too!

We had a great family vacation visiting our sister who lives in Bolinas. The house was perfect for our two families, easy access to everything in Bolinas. The views from the deck were amazing.

Our group of friends had an amazing stay! The house is rustic and beautiful, just like the town of Bolinas! It was a perfect fit for our group. Opening the windows in the upstairs living room allows the seabreeze and sound of crashing waves to envelope you. :) Here are some highlights: morning coffee on the deck, watching the sets of waves roll in for the surfers...exploring the tide pools at low tide...strolling through the chill beach town and supporting the local businesses...picking up fresh, local, organic produce at the 24/7 honor system Farmstand (*love* this!!). We spent our days exploring nearby (the majestic redwoods in Muir Woods, panoramic views at Mt. Tam, day hikes at Point Reyes National Seashore, wine tasting at Sonoma Coast Vineyards winery, enjoying the pollinator garden and mead tasting at Heidrun Meadery, walking through Golden Gate Park & exploring the Academy of Science)!! Can't recommend this town and house enough! :) Keep it quaint! :)
