The snowmaking is some of the best in the country and the gondola is an option for those who like to stay warm on the way up. There are two main lift accesses for the ski mountain; River Run and Warm Springs. River Run, with its new gondola and beautiful base area can be reached in a 3 minute drive, 5 minute bike ride, or 10 minute walk. Which means you can have the all the amenities of town but still have the relaxation of being in the mountains and close to the slopes. Warm Springs Lift access is 5 miles away. Many of the skier races and half pipes are located on this side of the mountain. Also, Apple's Restaurant offers great apres ski entertainment and food. The house is centrally located to all the valley has to offer. Walking distance to the Big Wood River for blue ribbon trout fishing. The 48 mile long bike path is 1/2 block away. Numerous hiking, snow shoeing and biking trails are very close by. During the winter, there is an ice skating rink two blocks away and the bike path turns into a cross country ski trail. Local tennis courts are two blocks away. Several golf courses are close by. Art galleries are within walking distance. The valley's KART bus can take you to the YMCA; or for that matter you could walk to the Y for a swim.
