Dawn was a great host and made the check in process great. The property and house was much larger than we expected. I definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely fabulous five day vacation in your Cottage at Union Pier. The quiet, brief walk to the beach was filled with excitement and joyous anticipation for the little ones. The yard was a playground, the roasted marshmallows superb. Shopping was close for everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying at Dawn’s Cottage.

We had a great stay in a quiet neighborhood with our family and pup. Loved that the cottage was a super easy walk to the beach. The yard, fire pit and grills were great. We hope to come back soon.

We had a very good time at Dawn's property and she was an excellent host with great communication. Upon arrival there was a minor problem with the toilet and she sent someone over within minutes to fix it. The proximity to the beautiful neighborhood private beach is ideal. The large fenced in yard with firepit, playset for kids, and two grills were perfect for our family and small dog. The only feedback I have is that the kitchen supplies need some updating, as we were unable to use a lot of them due to the condition they were in. And the cleanliness of the in house could be improved upon a bit. That being said, we had a lovely stay at this perfectly located home!

Home was very clean and nice, but the real perk was the backyard. Lovely space with a great outdoor cooking and dining setup. Fenced in yard and play set makes it great for kids and dogs. A beautiful beach is also just a couple of blocks away.

My family and I rented this place from Dawn and couldn't hope for anything better. The house is great and the yard.. was the best. My kids and my dog had a blast. The beach is a few minute walk and was really easy to navigate. Listing is exactly as written but even better in real life. Thanks again!

This was a comfortable, clean, ideal cottage for my vacation with my mother and young child. The huge fenced in yard with swing-set could not have been more perfect for my toddler. The location was a short walk from a beautiful beach that was clearly enjoyed by friendly residents, and it was never too crowded given that it was a private beach. The kitchen was well appointed and bathtub/shower were great. It was the perfect cottage vibe and my mom could not say enough about how much she loved it. Having a small, active child can be stressful when staying in someone's place, but we were immediately at ease here. Thank you Dawn for not having many breakables around. We certainly hope to stay here again in the future.

The cottage was a short walk to the beach which was very convenient. It was also super close to the Whistle Stop Grocery. The cottage was roomy for a 2 bedroom and had an awesome fenced in yard. Although our children are grown, there was an amazing swing set. We enjoyed the firepit and barbeque grill also.

The location to the beach and the yard were a home run for us. The kids loved playing outside on the play set when we took a break from the beach. You can also walk to a little market for yummy treats, coffee, sandwiches etc. it was a great get away!

Easy to find, easy to get to beach. Well situated and a short drive from several other attractions. Stayed for a week, had a great time.

Great access to harbor country with plenty of trails to hike with my dogs that also enjoyed the large fenced yard.

Our family booked this cottage for a getaway in August of this year and had to leave early due to the conditions of the house. The home had not been cleaned in some time and the owner later indicated she would "deep clean" at the beginning of the season but we had concerns especially with Covid. The place had layers of dust under every bed, couch, table..etc and it was obvious there had been no cleaning recently. Later the owner indicated her regular cleaning lady had cancelled prior to our stay so she cleaned the cottage and assured us the place was fully clean to her. We reluctantly agreed to stay because it was our only vacation and then woke up to a pile of ants all over a sealed and boxed bakery item we had purchased the day prior. The owner said she warned us she lived on a sand dune and there were ants. The ants were all over the coffee maker, the dishwasher, the laundry and made their way into the bathroom. They lasted the entire time we were there and even with us spraying, they kept coming back. As a result, we literally did not use the kitchen once when we were there. We had to eat out every day and ate our breakfast outside. Total mess. We should have left. After a few days, we indicated we wanted to leave early and asked for the cleaning fee to be waived as well as a 50% discount for each night and the deposit to be returned. Despite asking, the owner still charged us for the day we left early since we left after the 11:00 checkout. She ended up refunding us the fee for cleaning and an additional amount but it was a wash because we were still charged for the day we left early. She also eluded to the fact that we used her front yard/fire pit and the beach, so that should have been enough. I would not recommend this property - the area is great, but this property is not as described and is not taken care of. Such a disappointment!

Appreciated the prompt and helpful responses from Dawn (property manager)! Beautiful neighborhood beach is an easy walk from property a couple blocks and a large staircase down (we had no issues, but those with mobility issues may not be able to navigate the stairs). Definitely recommend bringing a tote or backpack and small cooler to haul your things down and make the best of the reason you probably rented here to begin with! :)

We really enjoyed staying at Dawns home with a beautiful yard filled with flowers, nice grilling area, swingset and close access to the beach. We found great hiking spots close by like Warren Dunes State Park and Galien River Walk. We also enjoyed the town of New Buffalo just down the road for picking up gifts and groceries. We got carryout at Stray Dog Cafe and sat outside watching the boats come and go in the marina nearby. It was good to be able to bring our dog along for all of these outdoor adventures! Thank you again Dawn!

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was cozy and rustic and we could walk to the private beach in minutes. Our dogs loved the big fenced-in yard. We came home each night and grilled and sat around the fire. Thanks for the memories!

The cottage was centrally located, near an amazing beach, food and fun. The yard was outstanding with swings for our 4yo, room for our little dog to run around, grills, a fire pit, butterflies and flowers!

Property has a wonderful backyard and is just a few minute walk to the beach. We got to enjoy a beautiful Michigan weekend outdoors, soaking up the sun!

A short walk from the beach with a great fenced yard and just the right size for our family, this was our second stay and a much-needed getaway:)
