The location was perfect for the itinerary we had. The pool was a bonus for our end of day. The kitchen had everything we could have wanted. The grounds were lovely and secluded.

We (5 adults and a dog), loved the silver heron. The kitchen was well equipped. We bought local seafood, fish and PEI potatoes and our chefs prepared two incredible dinners. The pool was perfect. We didn’t want to leave!

This was a great spot - very homey and comfortable. We enjoyed exploring PEI and then coming home to all enjoy a movie or play a board game.
The pool was great too and the yard is beautiful with access to the ocean which we didn’t realize.

This property had all it promised and more. The grounds are beautiful. The walk down to the beach with the view across the water to Charlottetown was wonderful.
The cottage is comfortable and homey. The beds were very comfortable. We were supplied with plenty of towels for the refreshing pool. The gorgeous pergola provided shade and a true relaxing atmosphere

This house is a charming cottage that is private yet close to Charlottetown. The grounds are well kept and there is even a pool! It is the perfect place to telax.

the house is secluded yet conveniently located. It's a huge property and connects directly to the water. My dogs loved being off leash the entire time we were there. I was looking for relaxation and some quiet time and this property was perfect for it. Charlottetown is just 20 min drive away and has lots of shops, restaurants and museums. The property manager was very helpful and very responsive to any questions I had.

Last year, in the midst of lockdowns and provincial mandates, I found this slice of heaven on VRBO and decided to take a chance. The cottage and location did not disappoint, so it was only natural to book it again.
Our stay was from September 3-10. Our flight was delayed slightly, so we didn’t get to the cottage until after 10 that night. As we drove down the red dirt road feeling exhausted from travel we immediately perked up when we were greeted by the warm gentle glow of the cottage welcoming us back.
The weather that week was glorious and allowed us to spend the day soaking up the sun and swimming, and each night we enjoyed cozy nights with family.
The cottage is nestled on beautiful grounds that overlook the water and make you feel like the world is miles away…but in fact you are only minutes away from shopping, nightlife, amazing seafood restaurants and amazing tourist destinations.
I cannot say enough about this lovely cottage, and Carolyn the owner. On the day the Queen died, remembering that my mum is British, she reached out to check on my mum and offer her condolences…wow!!!
If you’re looking to discover PEI, I encourage you to book this cottage for your home base and enjoy everything this slice of heaven has to offer…the only regret that you will have is when you have to say goodbye and come back to reality.

We loved our time staying at Silver Heron. The property is extremely private, extremely clean, and the pool was wonderful. We had many hours of fun swimming and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The house itself is very functional, and the kitchen is well stocked. We will always contemplate this cottage for our future travels to PEI. Being so close to Charlottetown was also a huge bonus.

We rent a home in PEI every year for our vacation, and Silver Heron is at the top of our list now! We enjoyed the privacy, the location near Charlottetown, and nearby Cornwall, the lovely pool, and all the amenities as described in the listing. The kitchen was well equipped, the pool clean and sparkling, and it was a quick walk to the beach for shell-hunting and dog walking. Cody was very responsive to questions and welcoming when we checked in. We look forward to returning!

A peaceful, serene home with pool and grounds down to the sea. We loved every moment of our stay. Perfect location to go out and explore this delightful Island. We brought our little dog, he settled in immediately. It was perfect.

Nice quiet location close to Charlottetown. Beautiful grounds. We did take day trips everyday. Love this island. Bathrooms need updates but a very comfortable place yo stay. Our dogs loved it too.

Paradise in PEI
I booked this vacation spot in March, when we were in the midst of the pandemic shut down, and we were desperate to find something positive to look forward to. The moment the booking was confirmed, I began counting down the days and praying that our trip in August would happen.
As we got our first glimpse of the cottage at the end of the famous PEI dirt road, I smiled with relief that the listing had perfectly captured the beauty of this cottage.
Nestled on a beautiful slice of Cornwall shoreline, the property feels incredibly remote and private, yet is only 10 minutes away from city conveniences.
The cottage is the perfect combination of rustic charm and comfort. It is clear it was designed with the goal of making guests feel welcome, and more importantly, helping them relax.
Our days were filled with swimming in the pool, taking walks down to the beach to find shells, or exploring the City. It was truly a magical experience and we hope to visit this slice of PEI heaven again soon.

This cottage is exactly as listed. My family had a great stay and really enjoyed the tranquility of the property. All the space outside the cottage is amazing, we really enjoyed being outside!

Great spot
Really interesting place to stay; the octagonal design makes the cottage layout itself a feature. The setting is fabulous, and is very private. It can be hard to pull yourself away from the pool for other activities.
The location is great and very convenient, provided the north shore/Cavendish area is not your main reason for visiting PEI. Even then, you're only 30 minutes away, so day trips are no problem. And overall, you are very central.
The cottage itself is pretty cool and comfortable for a family of four. It's rustic, and a few aspects could be refreshed, but as long as you're not looking for an ultra-modern HGTV-type makeover, you will enjoy the Silver Heron.
If you have toddlers, you might be wary of the spiral staircase to the master or the sunken living room, depending on your parenting style.

The property is very peaceful and well maintained. The location is great as you’re close to Charlottetown.
The pool was fantastic and used throughout our whole stay.

Cozy and comfortable
We enjoyed our stay at Silver Heron . The pool was a great bonus which we were in 3 days even though it was Sept and cool . The ambiance was nice with some interesting original art work . There was no Netflix or even DVD player so we could put our own Netflix account into play and we had thought there was a queen size bed but there were 2 doubles downstairs and the king upstairs was two short singles pushed together so not good for tall people ! For these two reasons we gave it a four star but other then that it was a great place in a beautiful tranquil setting . We would recommend it .

Fabulous Vacation Hideaway
This property is a fantastic secluded gem just on the other side of the bay from Charlottetown. It’s mere minutes from most conveniences, and is easy driving distance from most PEI attractions like Cavendish, and Summerside. The house is cozy, and well equipped with everything you’ll need, including a BBQ and coffee maker. The pool is heated, and in case it’s not warm enough, there is a sauna. The private beach has lots of wildlife including herons and seashells. The house is bright, and lots of windows to let the breeze flow through. I would definitely stay again. For the record, there are no more mosquitos here than any other waterfront property or beach on PEI (that’s life!)

A Special Nest
Our family of four chose this home for our first visit to PEI. It was just what we needed for our vacation! The home was lovely, clean, well equipped, private, spacious, and provided a chance to relax. We very much enjoyed the deck and pool but also the sweet space inside. It felt comfortable from the moment we walked through the door and was hard to leave. We did leave a few times during the week to explore the island and each evening when we returned we felt good coming back to our home for the week. Though the house is affectionately named the Silver Heron, I began to refer to it as “our vacation nest” while we were there. The property owner was easy to communicate with (though we didn’t need much or have lots of questions, as we have done VBRO a few times). The property manager was very accommodating and available on the couple of occasions we needed to ask something. We hope to retun one day. For anyone reading this wondering about bugs, they come with summertime in PEI. We didn’t find them unmanageable (especially while at the house). However, we’re Vermonters so perhaps not as easily phased by them. Just bring along some bug repellent and you’ll likely be fine.

Mosquitoes, mice, but good service
We arrived to the house being 40 degrees. That’s not the fault of Chris or Cynthia because of the unseasonably warm week but there is no AC so it was a hot week. If you have kids be warned. The mosquitoes are so bad the yard and the beach are not usable. We had to alert Chris and Cynthia twice because of mice and/or rats. They were fast in sending pest control but left poison bait traps all around the house. Chris & Cynthia were very good to respond right away but leaving poison around the house was very worrisome with us having a 2 year old and 5 month old in the house.

The most amazing Wedding Week
We had the best day week at Silver Heron House. It was beautiful and we look forward to staying there again. The location, property and pool were perfect! The evenings were cool which even allowed us to have a cozy night by the fire! We will be back!

AMAZING PROPERTY - with fantastic service!
We've rented properties on PEI five times, but the Silver Heron House was far and away the best. The pool is perfect, but the cottage itself is very clean, and well-maintained and stocked. What isn't really evident in the pictures is how amazing the property is overall, with a beautiful outdoor area that has beach access as well- looking onto Charlottetown. The location is absolutely perfect, minutes from both Charlottetown and a Tim Hortons! The owners and their family that manage the property were so good. We had a strange mishap on day 1- where a squirrel blew the power transformer on the property (RIP Squirrel), but the owners were on the problem immediately and had it fixed by noon on a Sunday! Can't say enough good things about this property- it truly made our stay on the Island unforgettable. Will definitely be renting again.

Great Location
My family and I spent 1 week at this lovely cottage. We felt at home as this cottage had many amenities. The home was clean, comfortable and spacious. The location is close to Charlottetown but yet far enough to offer privacy. We enjoyed the pool and the sauna. The property around the home is spacious and the children were able to play freely and safely. We loved the view of the fire works from this property on Canada Day. We enjoyed the balcony off the master bedroom in the morning and evening. Our dog also had a lot of space to play. A lovely vacation experience.

We loved it
Silver Heron was a great place to settle for two weeks. We are a family of four and the house was perfect. Upon arrival, I did not think i would ever use the claw foot tub in the master bath. In fact, it became a daily part of my routine! The house was fully stocked, very clean, and the setting is perfect. The Cudmore family and David, the house manager, couldn't have been more helpful. We hope to come back and would not look beyond the Silver Heron.
