Only reason I came back was to see the lake full again and stay at the house. Unfortunately the creek bridge was destroyed. It a fabulous private house next to a running creek
Two years ago the lake was down so far I passed on staying at Lundy
Fishing was poor this year and spots to fish limited but it was still enjoyable .
The Aspen forest in the back country was destroyed from an avalanche

This is a wonderful place open, quiet, and great location.

This was the perfect location for a getaway. The property is private and quiet. The river the runs by the back of the house is the perfect backdrop. Location is close to everything you want to do.

This is a beautiful home with wrap-around windows that add to being in the heart of Nature. We booked another stay after our second night there! The home is very comfortable, with several nooks for napping offering a cozy feeling. I read every review before booking and knew the comments were a mixed bag. We did bring our own non-stick frying pan which we would recommend. This is true for every home we have rented not just the Lundy House.
This great home would definitely benefit from a deep cleaning and having cleaning products available for guests to better clean up after themselves i.e. scouring powder and spot remover for the carpeting.
We hope all the guests of the Lundy House enjoy their stay as much as we did.

Some upgrades to pots/pans, couches and bedding would be nice. Perfect for what we need.

This house is close to town and it's easy to get to all the trails. There are beautiful views, and lots of places to sit and enjoy the view. The kitchen had what we needed.
The property overall is a little worn but comfortable. This house might not have the luxury linens, etc. that you might expect but the views and location for outdoor lovers will be worth it. And the owner is very responsive.

We stayed here in the middle of some serious snowfall and really loved the place. The cabin is spacious and has wonderful huge windows in the back that overlook a wooded area and a creek that runs right through the backyard. The cabin was plenty warm despite the frigid temperatures, has a large kitchen and eating area, and a modern bathroom. The owner really extended himself communicating with us on our way up about road closures, plow situation, location you name it - He went above and beyond to help us through the adventure.

Beautiful property right on the creek. The house is designed into the side of the creek. So cool! We stayed during a major snow storm and loved being snowd in. We snow shoed as far down the road as we could but the snow was so deep we couldn't go to the lake The snow glistened so brilliantly. It was a rare sight to behold.. In the spring or summer we would love to come back.

My family and I stayed for 4 days for Christmas. The house is beautiful. We loved the sunroom attached to the house. Even though it was cold we enjoyed sitting out there listening to the creek and watched our kids play in the snow. Owner Marty is quick to respond with any questions I had. We definitely want to stay here again.

Read the reviews, it’s all accurate. Cool house though.

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and running creek as well as the location being close to lakes in the surrounding area that we could bicycle around. My only comment might be that they need to provide individually wrapped small bath soaps (which I think can be obtained through Amazon) for the guests for hygienic purposes..

Perfect mountain getaway
The house and location are beautiful. Our stay was very enjoyable. The house was clean and welcoming. New DISH was installed and working perfectly. This is a house in the mountains so you have to take that into consideration. Moths, and an occassional spider are to be expected. I brought my own toaster, there is a toaster oven but..... One useable frying pan made cooking tricky , but there were numerous sauce pans. There are mountain and creek views from anywhere in the house. The huge windows are amazing. We plan on returning.

Had a few minor hiccups with the property when we first arrived but contacted the owner and he was quick to respond and fixed the issues promptly. Nice to have such a fast reply. The owner (Marty) is a super guy and I appreciated his efforts to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. I’ll be a long time renter.

What a shame! This house is beautiful and in such an idyllic location, but as I mentioned, in dire need of maintenance, repairs and a deep cleaning. I loved the design, well equipped kitchen, number and distribution of rooms and the sun room. Once again, what a gorgeous location. We enjoyed the river so much and were very fortunate to have plenty of snow to play in.
Unfortunately, there is so much to complain about:
-Pots and pans are banged up and dirty.
-The dishwasher cannot be used at all. We tried it once and there was a river of water pouring out.
-There are burned light bulbs throughout.
-Pretty much everything is dirty. There were piles of dead flies everywhere, cobwebs, the couch is filthy and smelly, the edges of the carpets are filled with dirt, etc. etc.
-No toiletries are provided except for some USED bars of soap, which is totally disgusting.
-There are no extra sheets and no blankets either.
I would love to go back, but not until all of the above and more have been addressed.

Reserved house for Christmas for 5 nights. Ended up staying 6 nights; no choice or fault of our own. Supposed to check out 12/28. Unable to leave; snowed in for 3 days. Owner told us Lundy Road plowed every morning, between 8 & 9 am. Plow only went by this house 1 time, between noon & 1pm. Saw evidence Lundy was plowed one other time; plow literally blocked our driveway with a berm that was chest-high to our 6-foot son. Owner had attitude about us parking in the driveway, he'd told us to park on Lundy. This was impossible; there was a thick, high berm on both sides & just enough space on road for single lane.
We have a heavy-duty 4x4 pick-up w/ snow tires; if we didn’t, likely would have been trapped another 1-2 days.
2 shovels in this house; one was a worn-out metal snow shovel, the other was lightweight plastic meant for light snow shoveling. Plastic shovel had previously been broken & glued back together. Metal snow shovel broke on 2nd day of use. Family members shoveled snow for combined total of 25 hours. Called 4 snowplow businesses in Mammoth; none could/would help us. A snowplow website stated they could not help us for a week.
Lift tickets & gear rental were prepaid. We could not get through Lundy Road to get on 395 to Mammoth.
Only brought prescription meds for 5-night reservation. Had no Blood Pressure meds for unplanned 6th night when we were stuck. This made for a very miserable night & day, where my heart felt like it was trying to pound out of my chest.
Additionally:
*kitchen towels in drawer were put away wet!
*hot water lasted long enough for brief shower
*spa tub took a long time to fill; needed to start& stop filling each time hot water ran out. Only filled enough to cover highest jet. Turned jets on - water shooting out was FILTHY!
*old, used soaps & bath sponges left in showers & sinks; soap in Master Bath shower had hair on it
*sink plug in Master Bath broken off, plug left on vanity next to sink, pubic hair stuck to plug
*no door separating Master Bedroom & Bathroom; flimsy privacy screen set up by toilet
*killed approximately 25 spiders
*several dead and living flies
*oven is ancient and off by about 40 degrees
*dishwasher leaks horribly
*cookware rusted, damaged, ancient
*fireplace blower requires 30-90 minutes before it works
*heater very weak; 15 hours to get from 48 upon arrival, to 60 degrees
*sofa FILTHY and smells HORRIBLE
*DISH Network never worked
*Wi-Fi didn't work one day, often weak other days

Trapped in the House Due to Snow. Had to dig for hours to escape.

We are very dissatisfied. The house was dirty. Bedsheets torn, stained and dirty. Carpets smell and are filthy, pans were unusable, dishes were dirty, 2 of the 3 beds are waterbeds, sun room has clearly been used for pets and wreaks of urine, and last but not least - there was a spider infestation (we had to kill no less than 50 large spiders during our short stay) kids refused to sleep alone and we are leaving exhausted. The only positive is the creek. Super bummed!

This location was perfect for seeing the fall colors in the eastern Sierras, and will be perfect for more hiking this summer. It is secluded and quiet, we enjoyed several hours on the deck listening to Mill creek flow by. The owner was responsive and helpful. The property is spacious as advertised, carpets could use some deep cleaning. The price and location make this a wonderful place to stay.

On our final day my daughter and I were going down the path to the creek for pictures. There is a gate on the deck that gives access to the path. I am 80 years old. I reached for the center rail to give me support. It gave way and I fell and broke my camera and received a skin laceration on my upper arm. My shoulder and one hip was sour but nothing serious. We contacted the owner and he said they knew that the rail was loose and he had insurance with Verbo to pay for the camera repair - no problem. Now he refused to pay for the repair of the camera and we will be forced to take him to court for the repair of our somewhat expensive camera. The residence was dirty and repairs have not been done for a long time. I would be hesitant to recommend Verbo to anyone at this point. My daughter took pictures of the rail that gave away and the camera and the injury.

slice of serenity
This place is a hidden treasure. You can fall asleep listening to the rushing water of the creek. The attached solarium to the house is such as peaceful and incredible place to hangout during the day. The house has there bedrooms . the top one facing the creek you can easily hear the rushing creek water. The best thing is landlord is always available by phone. Internet and cable TV are there but who cares when you have the serenity of this hidden off the road place.

The house built into the hillside above Mill Creek is a gem. We loved our stay for four nights, so convenient to Yosemite and Mono Lake.

Great location for hiking along Tioga road in Yosemite The spacious. house is set along a creek with fantastic views from its many windows. Unfortunately there has been quite a bit of deferred maintenance. Carpeting throughout the main floor, even in the master bathroom and around the water closet, is extremely stained. The great little sunroom overlooking the picturesque creek is unusable due to stained and odorous carpeting. Kitchen wood flooring has reached the end of its useful life and has a large black stain on it. The home has not had a good deep cleaning in a long time….kitchen cabinet interiors and appliances were dirty, although the microwave was spotlessly clean. There were no garbage bags provided, so bring your own. Also, no one has bought a new bathmat for years, and the small ones provided were dirty and one was even falling apart. There are other uncomfortable issues that you will discover too.
I went back and read recent reviews, and was surprised that except for a couple of deferred maintenance comments, none of these issues were brought up. I stay at many VRBO homes and this one does not currently measure up. I would not stay here again unless these issues were addressed.
The house has such promise, with a great location and beautiful setting and could easily be amazing if some profits were returned to the home.
