About this house rental
The charming lake house is the perfect place for you and your friends to relax and take in all of the serene beauty of High Rock Lake. Enjoy your casual lake living by spending your time fishing, swimming, tubing, kayaking or boating while taking in the areas amazing wildlife. You can even bring your own boat, use our neighbor boat ramp while enjoying the use of our dock. At the end of the day, start the charcoal (not provided) grill, enjoy dinner and drinks with a beautiful sunset. Although you are in an established lake neighborhood, when you turn into this place you leave the hustle and bustle of the busy world behind and enjoy the peace and quiet of the great outdoors. Our private fenced in backyard is perfect for small to medium sized dog. The house consists of a master bedroom (King bed) with an attached full bathroom, a kitchen, dining area with a beautiful stone fireplace and a great room with a large sectional L-shaped couch on the bottom floor. On the second floor, there is one large bedroom (Queen and Twin) where you can walk out onto the upper deck. Plus there is a spacious loft used as a bedroom (Queen and Twin) and another full bathroom and laundry room. This spacious retreat would be great for one or two families with about 1600 sq. ft. of livable space. The glass doors from the great room leads onto a covered patio where you can sit and enjoy the view of the lake while sipping on your morning coffee or enjoying your breakfast. We have a Keurig and coffee pot. If you’d like, you can walk down closer to the water and enjoy the views from the gazebo, the stone patio or the dock. The stone patio is a popular place on those colder days because of the fire pit. Bring your own firewood for a fire and roast some hot dogs or make s'mores with our skewers. On warmer days the canopy of trees provides shade on the patio that makes it great for picnicking. In summer time we grow lots mint so feel free to bring ingredients to make mojitos or add some to your ice tea. Grab your friends, a good book and come visit this charming lake house where you can slow down and just enjoy the water and nature around you. Thank you for your interest in our place! The house perfect. Great location for peace and quiet. The dock and patio were a wonderful place to hang out. We went kayaking around the lake. Highly recommend this home for a relaxing vacation!

This lake house was perfect for our anniversary vacation! More than enough room for the two of us, beautifully decorated, very well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and blankets, and such a beautiful yard with lots of outdoor seating! Unfortunately our visit was during hurricane Ian, so we had some cooler weather and only got out once on the lake, but we enjoyed using the fire pit and relaxing on the swing. Wonderful rental!

Communication could not have been better. We had a few changes we needed to make. All were handled quickly. Location and property were so much better than a hotel.

Excellent Lake Trip with the Family
This lake house delivers on the experience it describes. My kids jumped off the dock and right into the lake. It was priceless. The accommodations were more than adequate for what we were looking for during our 3 night stay in July 2022. The owner was kind enough to leave out her fishing rods and my kids caught catfish off the dock with bait we purchased at the nearby gas station. Expect to be comfortable and have a laid back experience here. I'd recommend it to family and friends.

Fun on the water!
We had a GREAT stay here! The house was perfect - very comfortable and just right for 4 adults to be together and also have privacy. The location is perfect, and we especially enjoyed the use of the kayaks and the fenced in yard for our furry child. Comfortable beds, well equipped and stocked kitchen, and great outdoor space for eating, relaxing, etc. Would definitely stay here again!

A great space to relax and enjoy our family. An awesome kitchen with all the cooking items we needed. Lots of outdoor seating which is where we spent most of our time.

We had a great time staying at your house. It gave us everything we needed. Our dog Shelby loved laying out on the deck and even took a dip in the lake. Everything was as the listing says and more. Enough supplies for the time we were there. We were even able to access the house earlier than expected. Definitely will be staying at the house again.

The house was perfect for our family of 5 and 2 dogs. The house has all the necessary appointments you need for a family and the back yard/dock area are AMAZING!! We definitely will be back in the summer to enjoy this special home.

We came up for the Polar Express ride and decided to make a weekend stay. House is perfect. Kids and grandma had plenty of room upstairs and the master downstairs is very welcoming! The home has everything you need to just chill!

This was a great property, we had the most restful and relaxing week! The house and yard are great, the furniture & beds were so comfy...everything you need is here! Kitchen was well stocked, especially important for our Thanksgiving dinner! Because the lake was lowered, we had to use a public boat ramp but the fishing was excellent, we caught lots and lots of crappie. The neighbors were nice & helpful, and our pups loved the yard. We sure hope to come back!

Enjoyable week a High Rock!
This was a great property, we had the most restful and relaxing week! The house and yard are great, the furniture & beds were so comfy...everything you need is here! Kitchen was well stocked, especially important for our Thanksgiving dinner! Because the lake was lowered, we had to use a public boat ramp but the fishing was excellent, we caught lots and lots of crappie. The neighbors were nice & helpful, and our pups loved the yard. We sure hope to come back!

My family and I spent a nice weekend on the lake. We were able to catch and release a couple of fish we caught from the dock, which excited our young kids quite a lot. We even took two day trips to Finch Park. We would highly recommend this park for anyone with elementary or preschool aged children.
Overall the house is a fine house to stay in with many amenities and a lovely location. However I believe it lacks some attention to details. For example as noted and mentioned by others the house is stocked with many amenities that are needed, but some are long past their expiration date. There were pots in the kitchen that had the bottoms peeling off of them and the scissors were missing an entire handle off of one side. Furthermore, it is clear the owners take pride in their home and went to great lengths to renovate sections of it, so it makes me wonder why they would then decide to leave the newly renovated bathroom with a floor that has no threshold and a plywood subfloor that is completely visible. I also want to note that when we arrived the master bathroom had a large hairball sitting right on the drain that was never cleaned, and there were crumbs on the couch and a visible PopTart wrapper found on the floor between two couch sections. It was little moments like this, that are why we would not rate the house 5/5.
I do want to take time to mention something that was disappointing. The top balcony had whole sections of railing that were merely tied/bungeed to posts and very unsafe. Small children could easily pull back these sections and slip behind them. One section was not even a railing but a metal shelf you would find in a closet. I am truly baffled as to why they did not finish the balcony properly for safety reasons when they are letting so many individuals rent this house.
As a whole we would rate the house 3.5 but you cannot do half stars. I can tell the owners value this home and truly do want guests to have an enjoyable time. I believe if they take some time to make little updates and maybe offer complimentary coffee it would be absolutely top notch!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The house and property was very clean and well taken care of. We had everything we needed and it was a plus to have a fenced in yard for our dog to run. We had a chance to meet Lora who is very nice and down to earth. We also met the neighbors on both sides. They are so friendly and gave us pointers on things to do and places to eat in the area. We had never been to the area before so we spent our time exploring and fishing. We discovered Childress Vineyards which was a plus for us and only 25 minutes away. We definitely would not hesitate to rent here again.

Great Place in the Lake
My husband and his groomsmen stayed here for the weekend and got ready for our wedding here. This was a great place to stay. The beds were comfortable, the home was clean, and the outdoor are is awesome!

We loved staying here. The house was immaculately clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor swing, the fire pit right at the lake, the covered eating area, the covered patio and upstairs decking. The fenced in yard with beautiful landscaping was perfect for our dogs. We will be back!
