Again, Tanguy has aided us in creating great family memories and a comfortable stay. He worked with me in figuring out how to accommodate us and I truly appreciate it. Mostly everything we needed to cook and get cozy was provided, the view as always, soothing and the location unbeatable.

Two couples rented this house for 5 nights before boarding our Celebrity cruise. We flew into Anchorage and hired SalmonBerry tours to take the 4 of us to Seward, stopping at the Wildlife Conservation Center, for lunch & Bear Creek Weir. Our friends stayed upstairs with their own bathroom and TV. We stayed downstairs with a bathroom adjoining our bedroom. It's an old house that has been mostly redone. The kitchen was perfect for our needs & had good supply of pots, dishes & seasonings. The dual coffee maker used kcups as well as ground coffee & owner privided nice selection of k-cups. Nice dining room & living room, tons of games, books. The dresser in downstairs bedroom was filled with pillows and the closet filled with an extra mattress. The host supplied shampoo, conditioner & body wash which was great. The location is perfect since we didn't rent a car. We could easily walk to restaurants and a health food store. We walked a short distance to the SeaLife Center which we loved and appreciated the discount the host gave us. We could also take free shuttle from the SeaLife center & it even took all our luggage to the cruise port when we left. We walked to the harbor & Safeway..but it was a longer walk. The absolute highlight of our stay was our 8 1/2 hour Wildlife cruise with Major Marine & we appreciated the discount our host provided. Very fun way to experience a bit of Alaska!

Property was perfect for what we needed. Location was excellent and within walking distance to downtown and harbor. Even though it was an older home, it was very functional and kitchen had everything we were looking for.

Great location! Older home with charm and a lovely view from the dining room to the bay. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants and a very short drive to the harbor. Worked well for two couples traveling together.

Overall, we enjoyed the property. The house was advertised as historic, which it definitely is. Unfortunately, some of the historic features are a bit challenging, or could be for certain travelers. The kids did not mind the stairs, but they’re quite steep and might be difficult for some. Similarly, the water pressure in the showers was fairly low and there was not a lot of hot water. The views are amazing, the beds comfy, and the blinds kept it pretty dark which we appreciated! While I love the concept of sharing leftover items in the fridge, I did throw out a few funky smelling items. It would be helpful to have a sharpie to date items so the next person can have an idea of the freshness. Regarding cleaning, the house was very clean but there were a few details that could’ve been better, such as used bars of soaps in the shower and a coffee machine filled with grinds. I did not call to have these things addressed as they were minor, but perhaps they will be better noted in the future. Overall, happy with our stay and the location was perfect; just outside main part of town but easily walkable to great restaurants, etc

This is our second time staying at the property. As mentioned, the location is superb. Morning and evening walks along Resurrection Bay are spectacular. This time we saw stellar sea lions frequently in the water close to the walking path. One evening we watched a humpback whale feeding for at least an hour mostly within 50 yards of the shore. The house is walkable to numerous restaurants, food trucks, and coffee shops. While we drove to the harbor for whale watching boats you could walk it in 15-20 minutes.
The house continues to offer a wonderfully equipped kitchen with all you need to cook meals. We would buy fish at the J Dock seafood market and cook up at the house. The Wi-Fi worked great and the TV has Roku. The house also is stocked with K-cups for morning coffee. The host is very communicative. The only negative is the bathroom on the main floor, which in our opinion, should be renovated to be in keeping with the rest of the house and to get a 5-star rating.

As is the gamble with two days in Seward, you never really know what you are going to get in regard to weather so we ultimately spent several days eating out and at the house. The house is historic in feel in that it is nothing flashy but has tons of neat character. I’d stay here again.

The house was very convenient to town and other activities in the area! Perfect for families, especially with young children. We appreciated the recommendations to visit the local library next door, along with the neighborhood park and Lowell Point beach area. Our kids enjoyed the selection of games available to play too. Kitchen was fully stocked and there was plenty of room for our multi-generation family of 8. Thank you for a great stay!

This is a convenient location. No bells or whistles in this older home, but has a beautiful view of the water and is an easy walk to shops etc. we’ve suggested some updating to the owners, but if you’re looking for adequate lodging that is close to a good portion of Seward’s shops, this is a good fit.

Everything worked well in the house. The kitchen was functional, the heater kept us warm, and the large dinning room table and living room suited us well.

This property was perfect for the four of us. We are 2 couples (sisters and our hubbies). Location was great! The only cons were the downstairs bedroom was really tiny as was the en-suite. We are in Alaska for 15 days, therefore we have a LOT of luggage with no place to put anything. That being said, I would definitely stay here again. The kitchen was fully stocked, and there were plenty of towels for the bathrooms. We loved the cozy vibe of the home.

Really close to water - so we were able to cross the street and see a pair of sea otters swimming in water and running on beach; lots of rain so it was good we had nice accommodations. Quite close to Exit Glacier and we also went on a cruise. The local grocery store (Safeway) isn't too far away, but you'll need to drive. For those that eat out, many restaurants are within walking distance (<5 min). Our family of 6 enjoyed this place.

Unfortunately, a cleaning issue can set a bad tone for an otherwise wonderful experience. When we arrived, we had concerns about the cleanliness of the property. We contacted the manager immediately and he re-cleaned the house. Unfortunately, he also made statements like "it is really hard to vacuum this carpet" and "the vacuum does not work well." While I am sure that these issues can be frustrating, they do not lower expectations and a carpet should be clean when renters arrive. It was clean after he "re-cleaned" the house. Similarly, he attributed concerns about other areas (we needed 3 cleaning wipes for the coffee station alone) to the house being old. I grew up in a house 25 years older than this one and things did not get dirty within hours after cleaning.
That being said, the problem was resolved by a "re-cleaning" and the house was charming and convenient. We were able to walk to the Sea Life Center, along the beach and to multiple shops and restaurants. The view of the bay was a nice added touch.

Excellent Location, home was clean, owner was easy to work with
This is an older property in the old part of Seward close to everything. Great decor and use of the space to make it very comfortable and relaxing. The only thing that would be nice is laundry but certainly not a deal breaker. Owner communication was excellent.

I was lucky to fill a spot where a cancellation had occurred. Renting a house far exceeded a hotel and the location was ideal. Tanguy made some excellent restaurant recommendations.

GREAT LOCATION
This is a historic home that has been nicely updated with modern conveniences. The location was great. Two streets over is the #1 restaurant in town, ice cream shop, lot of interesting shops plus the Sealife Center & Ressurection Bay, of course! Really appreciated the coffee and water supplies. Comfortable beds. Very communicative owner.
